  • So a final piece of the D.TillFabworks WJ bumper is the heavy duty radiator skid support. When I ordered my WJ bumper from D.TillFabworks, I opted to also get their heavy duty radiator support / skid. It replaces the stock radiator support, and provides extra protection for the radiator and more clearance on the front. It is both stronger and lower profile than the stock support. I didn't have a chance to install it when I did the bumper, because I wanted to take the Jeep out wheeling, so it's time to do that now!
The Jeep is a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ Overland. It has the 4.7 HO engine, quadra-drive (np247) full time 4wd system with vari-lock limited slip diffs front and rear. It current has a 2 inch "budget boost" spacer lift, and sits on 32" (255/75/17) BFG KM2 tires. Other upgrades are the aforementioned bumper from D.TillFabworks, and a Badland Apex 12k winch.

The bumper and radiator skid is from D.TillFabworks: www.dtillfabworks.com/collections/grand-cherokee-wj-1999-2004/products/wj-hidden-winch-bumper

I would leave the original and notch the support to fit. Bad design.

Might not be able to tell from pics/vid, but the original is much thinner metal, and also hangs down lower. So the aftermarket one provides more strength and clearance. But to each their own I guess
