This movie reminds me so much of my childhood. My father was just like good Sam, and yes, everyone took advantage of him, we all made fun and had to put up with so many people in my house all the time. My father was a great man, and everyone loved him. He is the person I have loved more in all life.
I was raised as a people-pleaser. I know well the meaning of "No good deed goes unpunished." Now in my 60's, I've learned that we teach people how to treat us.
Wow, Amen 🙏 I can testify to this movie theme. To take away from your house and individual responsibilities to your own family. And allow others to become more relevant amidst the false sense of loving thy neighbor first and foremost. I believe it a pickup way from the seen and unseen experiences amidst who or the whose raised and guided your up bringing. A generation curse. Even though with God's heavenly spiritual aligning Will Timeline and Purpose for the glory of all Creation and Humanity unto the Trinity Amen 🙏💖🌍✔️. THY WILL SHALL BE DONE IN Jesus Christ Name OUR LORD and SAVIOR Amen 🙏💖 i
SPOILER ALERT: So let me get this right. Inevitably they're celebrating a personal bank loan for $5,000 that was lost when some clever thief knocked Sam on the head and took off with all the cash he had failed to properly secure. A bank loan of 5K (in 1949 dollars) on TOP of whatever other amount their new mortgage is going to add up to, essentially because Sam was too damn irresponsible to secure money he been charged with handling for a Christmas charity? And to celebrate all this the Salvation Army comes marching to his new home with Sam drunk out of his mind and singing like a fool. Maybe in some far away universe but not on this planet.
Lately I've been having fun watching black and white movies, but this one is giving me a headache. The husband is way to gullible, the wife and daughter a couple of laughing hyenas. I'm actually starting to feel stress everytime he starts being taken advantage of again. I'm not even going to finish the movie.
Sweet movie :-). Ann Sheridan is so beautiful.

It always wonderful to hear the beautiful music at the beginning . Then, I know that it will be a good movie.

I love Gary Cooper.😄
Thank you for the movie. It was a great movie!
Way too many ads made it too hard to watch.

I really do not care for the Cooper character at all....there is a limit to "good".
This isn't being good this is being taken advantage of and being a dunce for letting it happen and being a weakling not to stick up for yourself.
