Excellent and smart decision using a GH5S! People are not realizing that the image of that sensor is ridiculously gorgeous and the recording bitrate is the same as some VERY USED codecs from RED! Cant wait to see what is filmed with this setup!
That would be 8K 16:9, 24fps, highest compression (22:1) or 6K 24p 12:1. No one really shoots that high of compression. Also comparing compressed h.265 to compressed wavelet raw is silly they are nothing alike.
But it's a 4/3 camera... (Low light performance will be lacking)

olegkikin when you think about it in movie production they have huge budgets now a days. 45 grand for these types of shots would be nothing. Now if an average person like you or me wanted to buy this I would say fuck that.
Amateur or low-level professional filmmakers (you-tubers) will buy gear like this. If your job relies on setting yourself apart, and this offers similar performance to a several million dollar setup, then it makes sense to invest in such a tool.

I say that as a high-end action sports cinematographer with an $80k camera kit. Pretty much the specific demographic they are targeting here. Especially since the tech is such that Zhiyun or DJI could drop a competing product at the drop of a hat for a tiny fraction of the price, just like has happened on repeat since the first Movi came out. I'm a huge Freefly fan. They make some of the most reliable gimbal gear on the market, but at this price with only a $2k camera body, I would be surprised to see many of these sell at all.
$45K is dirt for a movie production.

Almost wish they would have held off talking about what the camera was mounted inside. Have people guess and I bet not many (other than those that shoot on and know) would have guessed it was the GH5s. Great looking image! Well done!

What are the differences between a 3-axis and 5-axis gimbal? Two more motors and/or just better gyro(s)?
3 axis is only pan, tilt, and roll. 5 axis includes stablization in the x (horizontal) and y (vertical) axis, so it smooths out bumps or jittering.
Carbon has 2 inner axes that have limited range pan and tilt stabilization. These axes are very high bandwith, protected from wind, and very low friction so they are much better at stabilizing than the outer axes

Will it work with the newly announced Blackmagic pocket cinema camera 4k? Same MFT mount and similar weight but I expect the BMPCC's raw footage, color science and high dynamic range to be much better than the GH5s's.
How is it 5 axis? I see pan, tilt, and dutch. Where is the other 2?

The big plus is the fact its smoother than a movipro with the same setup?
Is there a significant improvement with a 24mm or 35mm on a movi pro vs the carbon?
Is this only limit to the gh5s and the fujinon? Can we add other lens such as the gh5s + sigma 18-35 combo?
If yes, can we had matte box is there space inside?

@@nismo5807 no they didnt, they just made a red rig which works well, and put the same quick release on all there support. This is very different
panasonic GH5s camera = not a pro cinema camera, its a video camera for prosumer or TV broadcast quality, and the pictures on this demo show precisely that. if youy wated to atrract real cinema pros with this it should ve housed a least a RED or a arri mini, reverse engineer the system based on those platforms, not the other way around.

The problem is that everyone is making drones, cameras etc. You need to start a new market and product that isn't already saturated and dominated by other bigger companies. In the end, DJI can easily just copy this with their smaller custom-built cameras and lenses. You could go bankrupt in the next 5 years. I'm not trying to be mean, it's just that everyone has seen gimbals and GH5's etc, etc.
