Well you see...Im not a really big youtuber but I am a huge (obsessed) fan of drones, all i talk about in my family is about drones all day...Now my dad promissed me that this year im going to get DJI Phantom 3 Standard...Do you think this is a good idea for my first ever DJI product? Also, is there any chance DJI could send me products to review? Thank you if you read that.
As a Landlord and real estate investor, I found that many property inspectors will not go up on a roof that has a very steep pitch, or is more than one story off the ground. For that reason, I wanted a tool that was small, easily portable, and took photos of adequate quality such that I could make a well informed decision about whether or not I was going to purchase an investment property. What I wasn't expecting was how much fun and enjoyable flying one of these things was going to be. With ZERO experience, and very little practice, I was able to take great photos of roofs, and all manner of upper story detail, but the experience has also broadened my consciousness of the world around me to include vertical spaces. Taking pictures of landscapes from an altitude has turned out to be very enjoyable. This drone (The DJI Spark) is tremendous value for the money, both as a business tool and as an enjoyable pastime. I appreciate your video, as it really does show off the capabilities of the device. Thanks!
I've watched several videos of people flying their Spark. I have to say...that I really enjoyed yours. It was very well put about the differences between the Mavic and Spark and how it really shouldn't be compared, and you did a perfect demo on the hand Gestures. Thank you for that.
@@JPVideos81 nope stock entirely! I ordered them today though. Curious to see what I can hit with them. It's crazy how different areas and even weather gives people such varied results.
Its crazy how many in depth reviews about the spark I've watched but not until now have i come across one that's been more useful and informative. Thanks man
Everybody else was explaining it wrong. Everybody else says that once you wave it away, it should be in picture mode and everybody else was also saying that you should be able to hold the gesture up to take the picture and once they see the lights flash, the picture would be taken but when they look at their footage the picture wasn't there. But how you said it, you have to show the gesture, then once the lights flash, you put your hands down and smile or whatever. So I would definitely recommend this video because he explained it the right way. Thanks for the video.
Really liked your presentation, thanks ,, also your flying shots. I’ve been watching a lot u tube videos on the spark. Hoping to buy one ( my first drone) very soon,!
Hey, I just wanted to let you know I received my Spark last week, and I've flown it once. I came back to watch this video again to refresh what I learned from you. Thanks!
@@JPVideos81 Definitely did! I live 2 miles from an airport, and I found out today that will be a problem, so I wanted to do something...gesture control worked and was fun. Thanks again!
People need to keep in mind the intended use of this drone. It's very compact and easy to carry everywhere you go. Great for travel where bringing a phantom might be more cumbersome. I know I have went places and not brought my phantom P4P simply because I didn't want to lug it and its case, batteries and large radio along. Not to mention it's much more stealth in places where you don't want to draw any attention. I think it's a winner.
I just got back from Ocean City, MD and brought my spark along. I have a video coming out later this week which includes the drone footage. This thing was ideal for not only travel but for keeping onlookers away. I was able to walk along the boardwalk carrying the pouch and no one knew i had a drone on me. Big winner in my book.
JPVideos that's awesome! I'll look forward to watching it. I'll be picking one up as soon as tomorrow. If the Spark had a 3 axis gimbal and 60 fps it would be perfect. Perhaps we might see increased frame rates in a future firmware update. DJI seems to add new features often.
Bought mine in 2017 still gets the job done and it edit for me in mere seconds for me to post online making me look like a pro luv it's small size and ability to get flying quickly and doesn't draw unwanted attention people don't even know it's there half the time

Good review thank you . Just taken delivery of my Spark fly more combo , looking forward to using it . They are slightly more expensive in the U.K. At 699 GBP.
Loved it man! Thanks for the video and footage. I got mine black Friday and have yet to fly it outside. Got the drone then I got a controller. Still waiting get rid of the wobbly knees and head outdoors.
Baby steps, start out with a short close flight in an open field and work up your bravery. The Spark is an awesome bird and if you use common sense, it will treat you well.
Great stuff! Thoroughly enjoyed your presentation. The aerial footage was perfect. The video quality is absolutely fine. People these days are obsessed with 4k. For the everyday consumer who's going to be watching these videos with friends and family maybe 2 or 3 times a year is more than adequate. And most people don't own a computer to edit 4k. Also I didn't notice any issues with your frame rate differences. I really think DJI hit the mark with this lil guy.

I picked up the fly more kit back in feb for $530 when it went on sale. It's my favorite drone to fly. With the Mavic mini out I'm not interested in upgrading do to the features they left out to get the weight down. Even with the karma, bugs 3, tello and several micro drones there is something special about the spark. I get withdrawals when I haven't taken it out in a while. I'm planning to get the Dji goggles soon.
i own a spark now , and i like it , I still wish for better battery tech for it tho to get longer flight time then what it gets now. I hope in the future , dji comes out with better batteries , to get least 25 min flight time .
Great video I just got my spark this week! So excited but even more excited that you are from PA and know about knowbels!! My first date with my wife and my first job both at knowbels so you get a double thumbs up!!
very Good, you've convinced me to buy a dji spark for closeup video, but I already posses a dji phantom 3 advance and its great too so I won't be parting with it.
Just a note. The OTG cable only eliminates the WiFi connection between the controller and the iPhone. It does NOT increase the "range" of anything. Thanks for the video!
It eliminates the wifi from phone to controller which is less interference for the drones wifi. Maybe its just coincidence but i do see increased range when using the cable as others have as well.
This was a good video that represents the system well. The only thing I noticed missing was the charging power supply. You showed the 3 battery dock but didn’t show the power supply for it that also has two USB outputs. One thing I have run into is trying to charge four batteries, three on the dock and one on the drone with USB, the power supply got really hot and became flaky. I will limit myself to charging three batteries at once. (I have the ‘fly more’ package plus two additional batteries) This is my first drone; one of my children gave it to me. I am thrilled. Have been a photo nut all my life and consider this camera platform more than adequate. One thing most people don’t point out is this thing records two copies of the footage: The main footage is 1080P 30 on the SD Micro with no sound, it also records a lower quality CACHE copy WITH AUDIO. The audio is recorded on your phone’s microphone. You can fly and make comments and record ambient noise, then merge the two in a video editor and produce videos with ambient sound and commentary. I am an old man who loves toys; I am completely happy with this drone. Right now I think I’m happier with this than I would be with the Maverick; I get great video and images without having to deal with gigantic 4K files. Thanks and good job on the video.
I forgot the power supply at home, it supppsed to be capable of charging 3 batteries plus the controller but i never tried 4. I am aware of the audio recording to the phone but i switched that off in the app since i pipe in my own music. Thanks for watching and enjoy your spark.
I know you from Cliff's channel. I am definitely purchasing the Spark. I have seen tons of videos about it. The raw video that you did was cool, fixes can be done in 'post'. What video software would you recommend to edit the videos? Looks like the Spark will be perfect for photos, I am a wildlife and sports photographer. BTW, I just subbed...
DJI Phantom 3 S is actually a better drone. Besides being a bigger drone, it shoots RAW footage as well as 1080p and 2.7K video. DJI Spark shoots only JPEG and shoots only 1080p video. The P3S has a 3 axis gimbal while the Spark is 2 axis so you'll get bumpier footage. I get 25 minutes with my Phantom 3 Standard of flight time while my Spark averages as you said, at 12 minutes. My Phantom 4 gets 28 minutes, my Mavic Pro averages at 22-26 minutes while my Mavic Air is right around 18 minutes. But to credit the Spark, the Spark is my favorite hiking, backpacking and kayaking drone as it's super light and fits in a hiking pack nicely. The Spark, along with my other four DJI camera drones are used professionally and would highly suggest that you should get this drone as a beginner, intermediate, travel or pro drone. Great video!
For my needs, the spark suits me perfectly. I rarely take photos and only film in 1080 so for me its perfect, but i understand its not for everyone. I'm willing to make some sacrifices based on its portability.
@ Will Butler Agree. Just bought a Spark, but there's no way I'm getting rid of my Phantom 3S. I see them as complementing each-other rather than an either/or situation.
Well done JP, I wanted the Spark but I fly for distance and DJI Mavic is my best drone and secondary is my Phantom 4. Keep the content going and thanks for sharing...
JPVideos ohhh nice to know. I am a newbie I will have my drone soon and I want to start making little videos and I am looking for little advice and ideas. hopefully I will learn how to do it eventually . hehe. thank you man.
Couldn't agree more with your 1080 / 4k statement. I work in broadcast television. HD is 1080 at most, sometimes 720p. It's not all about resolution, other factors go into good video quality...lens quality on acquisition, basic quality of electronics of camera, noise levels, compression levels, etc. There is no reason to consider 1080 as inferior...it is still very high definition.
If you would like to see more videos about the Spark, let me know what you would like to see.
It sounds like a bumble bee on speed!!! But the video is not half bad.
I want to see Exterme Durabillity test
There are videos out there showing it. Check out Toms tech time.
A company is sending me a few products to review for the Spark so be on the lookout for a video on that in the near future.

Any editor will work for drone footage. I originally started with windows movie maker and now use filmora.
Got mine for Christmas love it! And great video!
@ Will Butler
Agree.
The OTG cable wont boost you distance it is only the connection between the hand control and the phone for video link, but good video buddy
It supposedly will decrease the latency by just a bit.
beautiful places .. where's it?
awesome review and video brother
Thank you
That is freaking awesome.
this is awesome i'm thinking about the same thing i'd rather bring my spark around than a phantom!
It makes a world of difference. Easier to travel with, less weight to carry and hardly noticeable in the air.
omg I love the music that you put to the Spark video . where did you get that from? or how is this called? by the way awesome video
its from the RUclips audio library
JPVideos ohhh nice to know. I am a newbie I will have my drone soon and I want to start making little videos and I am looking for little advice and ideas. hopefully I will learn how to do it eventually . hehe. thank you man.

I did a lot of work on that Chapel in Forest Lawn Cemetery and I believe that you did some drone work there for Nicholas.

Very good review. Thank you!
Very comprehensive. I really like the footage it shoots. It's so compact. I really like it.
I wish I had a sunny day to really show the clarity. This bird is amazing for its size and hardly draws any attention.
Liked your video I own a spark also very pleased
Thanks
Excellent video. Do you by chance have a link to the cables that you use for your Android device?

Thank you, be sure to check out my Spark accessories review as well.
Great review.
Thanks
great video man
Mac Carmona thanks
Great video! Waiting for my Spark to arrive..With the handcontrol of the drones, the "Skynet" got closer to control the world ;)
Couldn't agree more with your 1080 / 4k statement.
Such a great review.
Ty
Great video, appreciate it. Thanks for sharing.
