Video showing how I clean my boat carpet. Products used in video: Barbasol Shaving cream Stiff bristled brush Bissell Pet steamer Samsung Galaxy s7 to video Premier Pro to edit.
Shaving cream--- I love it. While you've got the can in your hand, use it to lubricate baseball gloves. I played college ball and we rubbed that it once a week and it works great.
Thing that nobody wants to know: When I was a CNA for disabled adults I had to change diapers. We'd spray that shaving cream all over the 'pile' and the client's privates to cut the smell and help get them clean. You open the diaper, spray the doo, wipe off the bulk and remove the diaper, spray the client again, then use giant baby wipes to finish off. Just because your client has the mind of a month old doesn't mean they don't produce the fuzz and the doo of a full grown man. This worked like a charm. Years later, when I had my own kids, I used this trick for big jobs. That shaving cream is like magic and nothing cuts the smell better.
Very nice tip. Thanks. Shared with a friend who just bought a new boat and hasn't put it in the water yet because we are waiting for spring, and I am doing a boat build with new carpet, and I am sure this will come in handy for my build in the future as well.
Best video I've seen for doing this. All the other videos don't really show before, durring and after, which shows it actually works. Lookin forward to trying this in my Ranger. Thanks👍
I wonder how well this will work on the carpet in my 2008 tracker. I have a fishing friend that uses it to remove the smelly jelly stains and it works good.
Would this disinfectant the carpet as well? Or is it more for just getting out stains. Since the carpet on our boat gets wet after use and then we cover it. Plus add the heat from the sun sitting outside, I’m worried about mold, fungus etc. starting to grow in the carpet. Either way great video though! Love the tip!
I imagine it has some surfactants in it to disenfect, but for what you are talking about, I would use a foam cannon on a pressure washer with extra strength dawn dish soap. Foam it, scrub it in, then pressure wash it out. Use a shop vacuum to pull the extra water out.
Thanks for subscribing to my channel buddy.. came to check yours out.. You did great on your 1st video...38,000 views in 1 year is a very good video.. you should do more!
Awesome video man. Thanks for posting this. Curious, just bought a “new” 2019 boat. You can tel it was sitting open in the sun because the exposed black plastic pieces faded quite a bit. Anyways, noticed the carpet is dry. No fluff at all. You think this will help re moisturize the carpet and fluff it back ? My scenarios different than the usage wear. Thanks!
It will definitely help, the more you scrubbit with the brush, the more it will fluff. After it drys you can y use a regular floor vacuum and the brush and suction will pull it up more.
Although new, still use the barbasol correct? I assume it will help fluff vs just brush and water Thx for the quick reply! (You gotta do more videos man. Don’t well quick to the point and great editing.. I would watch for sure)
I applied it dry and rubbed it in. I would think if you do it wet, it would break down the cream to much and make it where it couldn't work into the stains as well. Wouldn't hurt to try a spot though.
I'll link what I used below. It's just an aerasol. You just spray it on the carpet following directions on the can. It puts a protective chemical on the fibers to keep stains from setting in. www.amazon.com/dp/B07KYJYC3S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_D7v9EbE58FX9X
What would one use orange die for on a fishn boat? Dying some of those zoomie gummies or somethin? Ive used red kool aid and chicken livers before for some good bed cat fishin but not no orange dye., kool aid still makes it look like you got to second base with a woman at a bad time but figured the flavorins had something to do with the bait being so good..
That carpet cleaned up perfect! Who would thumbs down a cost savings hack that actually works?
Thanks for the kind words!
Best Boat Carpet Cleaning video on the internet. Tks.
I appreciate the kind words!

@@tadeloach22 Gettin ready to try this out soon. Winter came before I had a chance. Where did you get your brush and scotch guard?
@@Bassmada Walmart
@@tadeloach22 Thanks for letting me know👍 How has your carpet held up since you did this?
I sold that particular boat about 1 1/2 years ago. The carpet was still looking good. I clean my new boat like this once per year.
Excellent tip. Thank you, learn something new everyday! Thumbs up for the video.
Thanks a bunch!
Hey-ya! Thanks for the video. I think it works, because of stearic lauryl sulfate in foam
Thanks for the Info!
TD_Fishing you so welcome
That's cool. Thanks for the tip!
Fun video. Thanks
Anytime!
That kind of shaving cream will also take out sun burns
I'm going to try it on my truck fabric too.
It'll work. I've done it in my vehicle as well.
@@tadeloach22 Awesome! Thank you.

It will work well. Works better if the carpet is a little wet.

Thank you!
Good stuff 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
👍Thank you!!! 💞
Great job I got green long haired carpet I’m selling tho so I’m going to pressure wash it
If you treat it with dawn dish detergent really good and pressure wash it it will do well. I do that for in between maintaining

@@318android3 you don't have to do the barbasol for that, just soapy water is what I would do!
Tip of my cowboy hat from E. Texas.
You didn't show or tell if you wet the carpet BEFORE applying the shaving cream. Please let me know. Thanks.

"I almost cried, I know I cussed". The story of my life.
Seems the story of every fishermans life LOL
About to see if this will work on a 9 year old boat carpet
What carpet cleaner vacuum is that?
Bissell pet I believe
I just take a pressure washer and some purple power. 30 minutes done.
Yes, that works well for a quick clean, but it doesn't fluff the carpet up in my experience. I do that when I need to clean it fast.
I plan to clean the carpet on my pontoon boat...Would it work to just hose the carpet when I'm thru cleaning it...
BTW thanks from N.Ga..As of today Lake Lanier is 6' above full pool....
I don't see why not. Could probably get it cleaner that way, rub the caving cream in, let it sit, then power wash it
Hey man did it end up working for you
Did it work just hosing out after scrubbing ?
Yes, I have done it that way since this. It does get clean. Just takes a long time for carpet to dry. Make sure the plug is out lmao
What kind of carpet shampooer did you use?
It was just one of the Bissell models from walmart
Can I use 10 cans ok f barbasol ot
I guess you can use as many as you want lol.but shouldn't need a bunch.

Dye the tips of appendages on soft plastic baits.
