JJ was a Celtics advocate since day one of this season. Was the only guy to actually observe what they were doing without falling into the media-driven traps. Big ups to Redick; he really knows the game.
Forsure. Hes one of the realest because all the praise he gives them is genuine, he had receipts
So weird how everyone fell asleep on Boston because of how the east was quite weak and boring. It just felt like their year from the get go.
he was actually one of the guys to say tatum and browns games were too similar don’t forget 😭
@@ytuserizzyso, that didn’t mean they couldn’t win a championship
Its a shame he is a Laker now
Being a Celtics fan for over 2 decades and watching the growth of the Jays to where they are today and what they achieved is so special. This is what made this championship so worthwhile as a Celtic fan
that trade with the nets might be the biggest fleece in basketball history
Im a lifelomg bucks fan so og course never been a celtics fan, but i wanna know where all the tatum and brown haters are? Saying they "will choke like always". Clowns. Of course they will have some excuse.
Couldnt have said it better.
All of that growth and Jb is 27 Jt is 26!! And there is still so much more to accomplish!! Bleed green!! Banner #19 loading…🍀🍀
Yes the trade with the Nets. But what about draft day trade with Philly? The 76ers looked -even more so now- absolutely foolish for making that trade.
Im so happy Tatum finally got over the hump. Years of getting to the ecf and the finals and not breaking through but to finally be a champion at only 26 you have to be happy for the guy
Tatum shot 38% from the field and got carried by Jrue, Brown and Porzingis.
@@maxjaeger40 *NBA champion Jayson Tatum won a championship* fixed your comment for you lil guy!
@@maxjaeger40 he was close to averaging a triple double in the finals, played excellent defense all playoffs and finals, lead the team in terms of average stats during finals too. Stop this random hate lol
@@maxjaeger40lead the team in points rebounds and assists but go off tho
@@maxjaeger40Are you on drugs Tatum lead the Celtics in points rebounds assists and steals in the finals tell me you are a casual without saying so😂😂😂.
Shout out Philly. The process worked, but for the wrong team.
Shout out to the Lakers too for picking Ingram and Ball😂
It wasn't the same process, we outsourced our tank to the Nets and remained competitive throughout 😂
@@dmccaffreydm I'm referring to the draft picks Boston received thanks to Phillys process
It’s amazing. The Celtics drafted their franchise cornerstones, the Lakers drafted the assets to trade for a franchise cornerstone, and the Sixers got guys that couldn’t play with their franchise cornerstone
Simmons and Fultz were the right picks at the time though. Just unlucky on the Sixers part. Gg to the Celtics though
As a Celtics fans, JJ always saw how good this team was despite how unhinged the media vitriol got.
unhinged? So what happen in 2022 and 2023? 😂😂 there’s a reason why the media doesn’t take the Celtics serious cuz they choke every year. It’s about time they won and they didn’t even play the nuggets. Celtics really lost to the 8th seed and this dude really thinks the media is unhinged for looking at track record 🤣😂🤣😂
@@obryn "Celtics aren't battle tested". "Wait till they play the best backcourt in NBA history". "Mavs in 5". Nuggets shoulda woulda coulda blah blah. Cope harder.
@@TrankDuo7mickey mouse title against injured teams, cope harder
@@igorvinicius6624 Celtics were injured with KP out most of the playoffs too. Celtics are NBA champions. Nothing you say changes that. Cope.
@@TrankDuo7 cope harder bro, an injured RP is not like other teams like Bucks, Heat even Pacers that the STAR players got hurt, so yeah That title was like playing 2k on rookie mode, Mickey mouse title
Wait until these guys see the parade... it's going to be nuts, and a day none of them will ever forget. We've seen 12 Championship parades in the past 24 years, we know how to celebrate the Champs!
Now we need a pod with JB 🙏
not marketable enough.
im kidding -- but its typical that he wasnt featured of all the celtics, but this is business as usual for JB. Class Personified
@@curtislinden9297the team is in the back celebrating with champagne. JB is taking pics with his mom. JB is HIM
It’s cliche to say, but this team genuinely likes each other. Perfect mesh of personalities who can put their egos aside for the sake of winning.
Definitely
Thank you for covering the team that actually won the title and not the team everyone wanted to win👏
JJ you might be the only media person who didn’t fully turn on Boston this season. And I know it might only be because of DWhite lol but we appreciate you! ☘️
7:46 This is why they traded Marcus. Not because he said they should pass more, but because Marcus really thought he was on the same level as the Jays, and wanted to take as many shots as they did. Far too often he would be taking the last second shot, and I loved him to death but that's not what the team needed. His style of play could be really chaotic at times, it was very hit or miss, not consistent. Replacing him with Jrue was the best move the Celtics made, he brought a calming presence at the PG position they desperately needed in crunch time. I loved Marcus's heart but his decision making was questionable. Jrue is not only a better playmaker, but a better defender without fouling. Great moves by Brad to make this happen, and everyone is signed for the next couple years so there's potential for more success in the future.
Exactly for example last year game 6 against the heat when he chucks up a contested 3 wit 9 seconds left in the 4th luckily d white got the putback
D White and Jrue can’t be denied. Love Marcus but the trade was a great move
Oh my , the dynasty
Mazzula absolutely perfected the time out thing
In what way?
I'm sure JJ leading with that clip of Mazzula saying "being a Head Coach brought our marriage and family closer" was a total coincidence.
I am honestly so happy to see Al Horford win his ring!
Yes! They guy has been a pro's pro everywhere he's been, glad to see him win, and especially while he's still a big part of things (as opposed to being on the team but buried on the bench as sometimes happens to longtime vets).
JJ!! I really loved you called finals with Mike and DB! I could imagine It was long season for u as well! Go to bed and get some break!😂
I’m so happy JJ is around. The ONLY part of ESPN that was talking about facts and stats instead of nonsense
Love all the Celtics interviews, you do a great job with these... learned a lot about the players and the team. So happy today, banner 18 is finally here, and those guys deserve it.
Wish Jj would’ve taken joes offer and come to work for the Celtics. He would’ve gotten a ring this year😢
JJ was one of the very few who really paid attention to the C's game.
Thank you, JJ Reddick! You are the only high quality person in the media! Thank you, sir!
Love jjs ability to be a basketball observer and not a bias casual like half of media
They didn’t just talk about it they went out and did it. Listening to them talk early in the year and keeping that same energy all the way to the end is truly admirable, hats off to them!
JJ knows greatness. He should've been the #1 pick for Lakers head coaching job regardless.
US CELTICS DID THAT! #18 JAYSON TATUM TOP 5 RIGHT NOW AND ALREADY TOP 75 OF ALL TIME & JAYLEN BROWN TOP 10 RIGHT NOW AND ALSO TOP 75 OF ALL TIME 🤷🏻♂️ NUMBERS DONT LIE.
Saying "us" and including yourself when the team you support wins and you contributed absolutely nothing is so cringe.
@@Fr0gSplashhcry
@@Fr0gSplashh Almost as "cringe" as earnestly using the term "cringe"
@@Fr0gSplashhlet the man be happy. a team isn’t just about the players and coaches. it’s about the city and fans. keep crying
Jt not top 5 rn brother. He got a lot of help on that team. Luka, Gianni’s, Embiid, Jokic, and shai better than him. Can probably come up with some other names too
JJ soaking in the process of being a new head coach.
Dang, im gonna miss this podcast. Best of luck JJ on your new challenge
JJ gotta get JB on the pod if he’s not coaching the lakers
Derrick white is my favorite non superstar. Doesn’t need the ball, doesn’t need the attention, just hoops on both ends. Every kid that has goals of playing high level ball should study that man’s game
He’s amazing. I can’t believe we got him for Josh Richardson and some peanuts.
Let's go Coach JJ 💛💜💪 Congratulations as the new Head Coach of the Los Angeles Lakers 👏 Let's beat th Celtics next season 😤
Seeing these are interviews again after the win reminds me just how good of a team and how good of just people Boston has. Thank you JJ for resharing, amazing work here and as a broadcaster.
Thanks for the insightful and fun conversations this season! Gonna miss the podcast with JJ likely coaching next season
Congrats coach
Thanks JJ & Tommy for all the great podcasts - you've set the standard and example for athlete media efforts and greatly enriched the public discussion and level of understanding of the game. I will greatly miss your pods. Best of luck with the Lakers!!
This was a great watch! Thanks JJ for doing some actual analysis all throughout the season
We need Brown on the Podcast!!!
JJ love this video. Great interviews. Keep up the great work. I’m a big fan.
Greta video JJ. You were rolling with the Cs all year and didn’t change. Legend!
I hate cheering for lakers but I will cheer for you next season. Gonna miss the podcast a lot
He’s been dissecting us this whole time!😂😂😂 now he’s coaching our rival. Hope the best for JJ. Bring it on buddy!
Appreciate you JJ Redick - love a Celtic fan ❤
Congrats on the Lakers job JJ 🥳Thanks for teaching me about the real game of basketball. I hope to use the things I’ve learned to study and pursue a lifelong career in basketball
Wow JJ, appreciate this ode to the Cs! 🙏🏽☘️ (PS don't go to LA! 😉 )
I was stoked about the Jays since day one I know the day they got Jayson Tatum if those two stay together they eventually get a championship with help what are the two they finally got really good help with Holiday inn KP and of course the rest of the crew I was so happy the Celtics get one this year and I believe the Jays will get two more rings
Aye big bro if u start coaching, just good luck fr but please keep podcasting
JJ Redick should head to the Celts and join the coaching staff, take Charles Lee's place.
If he doesn't end up in LA, there's prob an open spot or two on the Celts staff for JJ.
Looks like JJ is taking mental notes for when he takes the Lakers job
Man inject this into my veins.
I was only 10 when they won in 08, and didn’t know anything about the game or the league. Watching the Jays grow for these last few years, watching this team come together, and fail repeatedly, makes this win so much sweeter.
We need a jaylen brown episode
Mavs will be back next year, this is what JT tasted back in 2022. Celtics played great this series.
@rmc_16066 Yes, finals. We will have year 2 Derek Lively instead of year 1 Derek Lively. Can't ask for much more than that.
High hopes, but in a loaded west... That's a tall task.
@jkepic25 You're really betting on Lively to take such a big leap, that it propels you into a true finals contender? I don't think you really watched the series lol lively wasn't the issue.
The Mavs need to make a few moves I think. They need a 3&D wing to upgrade Derrick Jones Jr. He would be great off the bench, but a wing who can really shoot and play solid defense could get Dallas over the top. Kidd tried going to Green, Hardaway, Exum, Hardy.. but none of them are good enough on both ends of the court to really help win a championship. Green aint bad though. Lively is a great young center who will work on improving his post game. Gafford and PJ are perfect fits too.
🔥
JJ gives us a classic Celtics lakers finals !!! 💪🏼
LFG Celtics are champions 🍀🏀💪!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JJ is pretty cool and a mini Celtics fan but now Lakers coach lol pretty fitting!!!
Lakers Coach interviewing Cs squad is surreal.
WELCOME TO LA JJ!
🟣🟡🟣🟡🟣🟡🟣🟡
Did you see how intensely JJ stared at Payton when he hit that 3. Dude felt the dog mentality. Might be JJs next Alfred.
If JJ don’t get head coaching job, then he should join Joe’s staff since we’re losing an assistant…would be great..
Gunna really miss JJ
Smart was right! They learned to pass more and now they're champs
I know it burned Jason up cutting this 😂
Truly one of the finals of all time
Din't necessarily have to watch the games. Just look at some of the advanced stats & one number metrics for D White. Think he was top 50 in EPM. Maybe best on team in that metric.
We need JB in the podcast JJ 🙏
Gunna be hard not to root for this guy when he’s coaching the Lakers lol
Don’t worry LeEgo wont let JJ stay in the job for too long
Jj please coach summer league. Get out there early
Not a big fan of the ESPN appearances and game calling, but these intimate interviews are fantastic. You can tell the guys are really comfortable and open up talking to JJ, just great questions and vibes in these interviews. If JJ gets the Lakers job it will be a great loss to podcasting.
BEST TEAM EVER 🇩🇴🔥🇩🇴
JJ we need a jrue interview
Jj can’t be loving on the Celtics now lol
New lakers coach hype🎉🎉
JJ be ready for Lakerland !
53 minutes and 11 seconds of jj redick talking
Jj’s last episode
Mazulla ball.
8:32 if u look at their assist numbers during this championship run maybe Marcus smart was right about them needing to pass more
nah, they may have been bad at passing when smart was sayin that but in this finals their assist is low because everyone on the team was a willing passer, so there's always an extra pass to turn a good shot into a great shot. If they counted hockey assists then JT would average 10+ per game
🤞🏽🍀
W
Perk, where you at??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Congrats on the new gig, now please help LJ get that 50 million a year, and sign his son with the 2nd round draft pick.
Why you gotta take the LA job man I dont wanna have to cheer against you and I'm gonna miss you being one of like maybe 3 analysts/commentators outside of Boston media to actually not weirdly be a Celtic hater😭😭😭
Joking aside tho good luck, just hope you know I gotta stop rooting for you the second the playoffs start😂☘️☘️☘️
Still think it could of been 3 - 1 Indiana instead of 4 zip...can't let it go
Only non biased media JJ redick
Not to bash Kyrie Irving but he set the Celtics back during the seasons he was there. The team had welcomed him with open arms & respect. But he has realized his unproductive actions.
i saw a video the other day of another player dribble the ball between jj reddicks legs in a pro nba game it was extremely embarrassing like bro you cant even close your knees cant you tell he's about to dribble literally between YOUR legs not HIS legs very shameful
Lebron-27 mj-28 Tatum-26 brown -27
Jj the amount of glazing that you’ve done to Boston in every game you announced and in every podcast episode is crazy
DWHITE DA REAL MVP!
Be careful JOE JJ may steal some ideas 😅
im a little worried about al sticking around. might leave a hole in the roster. i want pingus to come off of the bench. that;s the best way to limit his minutes and max his output. he will win sixth man of the year. it won't be close. come out and knock down threes, catch lobs and get dunks in transition, and block shots. be healthy in the playoffs. that leaves al as a starter. can he do that at 38 years old? i hope i am wrong. al is a special athlete, takes care of himself and he's got no bad habits, but 38 is ancient for an NBA player.
Next season Al should be a starter for up to 5 minutes in each quarter. KP should come in off the bench. At this point we should treat him as luxury and preserve as much as possible for the playoffs. The task will be to then have two more rim protecting centers who can give you up to 20 mins per game and can emulate what Al and KP do. If Kornet is to be one of them he should go back to practicing threes, which he was pretty good at earlier in his career. If Tilman is the 2nd one he should spend the summer shooting threes. His D and game around the rim is good but he cannot stretch the floor right now. He's a FA though so not sure how this pans out for the C's.
Hey, Joe, try to utter one sentence without misusing the word like. In fact, leave out that word entirely. You will sound a lot smarter and be more of a credit than you already are to the Boston Celtics? I remember when the University of Connecticut won the national championship. Their coach went on national TV after the win and said "We be UConn". He was gone within about a year
Champs
7:25 No reason to be flummoxed.
The two of you are top 30-40 players. But, that could mean you both cost more per year than the production you provide.
Why Brad Stevens had to stack the deck & acquire the best supporting cast in the NBA. Which affords the two of you a true five out scheme to take advantage of.
But, this is unaffordable long run with the new CBA. I'd still be interested in trading Brown for the right deal. Should be able to fetch a better one after winning finals MVP.
Don't go to the Lakers JJ. Bad situation over there. For years to come. No cap space no decent picks and LeGM telling you what to do everyday. Awful spot for the next 3-4 years.
Why are Celtics fans always throwing themselves a pity part in the comments
You know damn well in the grand scheme of things no one thought you were gonna be bad. Stop crying
It’s just some reflection after a long road to the championship, feels good. Sorry you’re bitter and don’t know what it feels like 😂
I don’t think Celtics fans are throwing themselves a pity party. In fact, there are alot of haters towards the Celtics. If you watch the stats, everybody wanted mavs to win for 2024 championship. Everybody said Celtics was weak, soft, playing against injure teams. Everyone kept doubting the Celtics. The list is endless. Talking bad about their franchise. Despite them having an amazing roster and good super team they still get hated on. They have a bunch of great guys and humble players but even so still get doubted and hated on. They ARE a good team but kept having to prove themselves to everyone else who didn’t believe in them. They deserve this win and we’re happy for them! 💚 so to answer what you said, I don’t think they’re throwing themselves a pity party.
Some how some where some one is cooking up a theory that the NBA is rigged bc of these podcast😂
Dwhite always injured lmao
JJ .
The most Celtic non Celtic
It tickles me how all these talking head continue to say that Boston overtakes the Lakers in championship wins, THE LAKERS HAVE NEVER HAD MORE CHAMPIONSHIP WINS THAN BOSTON. Boston has had more championships than the Lakers for the ENTIRE history of the NBA, in winning that bubble crap the Lakers TIED Boston with them both then having 17 championships, now Boston has it’s 18th the Lakers have NEVER repeat NEVER lead Boston in the championship chase, and as for Head up championships the Lakers and Boston have played each other for the championship12 times and Boston has won 9 of the 12, so NO, the Lakers have NEVER been a more storied franchise than the Boston Celtics.
I’m expecting this man to be the next generation’s Coach Pop.
Just have to let LBJ ride out to the sunset and trade AD as soon as possible.
How did Tatum not get finals MVP
JB guarded Luka so well man, I think it’s well deserved, and he made big big shots in the clutch.
Toss up between Tatum and Brown. Both were key
Tough to say who’s the 1A on the team. Tatum for offense and brown on defense… but both play the other role really well as well
Because was Jaylen was Better when it mattered . Besides the incredible job he did on Luka and Kyrie defensively, JB shot 58% in those first 3 games to Tatum's 35% . Tatum padded his stats in Game 5 after it was basically over; up by 21 points at half.
