This crossing was upgraded throughout February 2020, replacing previous manual gates. It was part of the resignalling work on the Norwich to Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth lines. New 'Newgate' barriers were installed, along with new warning lights, alarms and controls. Unfortunately, drivers are already ignoring the red lights it appears.
Thanks For Watching!
This means alot to me since i potentially live near there. Thanks!
No problem 😁
0:17 nice little level crossing jumper
Couldn’t even wait 2 minutes
Nope, had plenty of time to stop but chose not to 😏
Yep. Another SPAD. FN62 VXW.
Super shots 👍
Thank you! 😁
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel You're welcome :)
I like the upgrade! Also Great video and crossing. I also added you to my Favorite channels box
Thank you! 😁 I'm glad you're enjoying my vids so much.
I've never heard those alarms on a full-barrier crossing. It should've gone all out and said "warning: more than one train may be approaching", ha.
Yeah, these alarms are starting to appear on these full barrier crossings more. The voice announcements were oddly turned on at the new crossing in Cantley, even though there's only two trains each hour.
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel I had a comment on my video of Cantley saying that the voice messages have been turned on because trains have always occasionally met around Cantley Station, so it probably does stay for two at some points in the day.
Report the red light jumper to police
Brilliant video! 👍👍😁
Thanks for uploading another video from this day! I'm not personally too fond of these Newgate upgrades because of the light sequence and E2S alarms, but this one did seem quite nice with the pedestrian lights, and at least the alarms here were fairly loud - louder than you expected from what I can gather from the video!
Thanks ☺️ I didn't mind these upgrades as compared to you and Joe, as it's something different to what I've been use to filming. The alarms perhaps not so much but the barriers are pretty cool.
I quite like the new ones!
Nice, I should have been filming these this week but I can't now.
Thanks 😊 Yeah it's definitely halted mine and many others plans for trips 😏
The car definitely ignored the red lights even though they were new.
Yeah, misuse still and will always be a problem at crossings 🙄
Great video
Thanks! 😁
Nice video😊
Thanks! 😁
These barriers shake in the wind
All controlled by Colchester since we put the Electrologix in, sad in a way really, but thats progression.
Ah right, I was wondering where it's now controlled from. Is that the same for all of the Wherry lines from Norwich to Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft?
UK Level Crossings Channel Yes, though from memory because I left the project in December, I think asides the swing bridges and 1 or two crossings including strumpshaw which use slots, everything is controlled via Colchester PSB with a new MCS / Electrologix system.I have some photos and probably a video somewhere if you are interested?
Ah that would be cool to see. I have an email ('for business enquries') on my channel's About page if that's easiest?
Lovely, Is the other crossing full barrier at Lingwood? As the crossing at Antingham (Walpole) is another Full Barrier Crossing, on a Single track in Norfolk. That's on the Bittern Line.
Thanks 😊 Yes, both the crossings in Lingwood now have full barriers, as-well as new lights and alarms.
Train took over a minute to arrive after full closure of gates.
Lingwood station is just to the right here, I think the train was just arriving at the station as the crossing was lowering
I hate E2S alarms.. dont know why.. just prefer yodalarms or bells. Stupid misuse too!
Yeah, they all sound the same. It's good there's still a few crossings with bells around.
Misuse, good video...
Thanks 😊
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel It's ok
Do u live in aylesford?
No, but I'm not far away
