    Nice discussion on red-dots...basically comes down to what works for the individual shooter. But the one constant is all these guys have "Tactical Beards."

    I'm leaning towards a Primary Arms micro prism 1x with the Gemini ACSS reticle for my Beretta CX4 PCC in 9mm. Light weight. Relatively low cost. Great battery life. Great reticle. Great illumination. Etched reticle, as a backup, if electronic elements fail.

    I decided on a HOLOSUN AEMS enclosed sight for my upgraded RUGER PC chassis carbine (16" barrel). This circle/dot reticle is absolutely my favorite for many reasons, speed of target acquisition is one of them.
    It was necessary to add a MAGPUL 1/4" high snap-on cheekpiece to get perfect eye-to-reticle alignment with my cheek weld.

    I'm gonna be weird and run a vortex db 1.75-5x32 as my main and a sig romeo 5 on a 45 degree offset on a CA9MM

    For home defense and duty would a closed system like a T2 be preferred?

    I have a JP 16” 9mm barrel and my groups are 6-7” at 100 yards. That’s with a 10x scope. Seems too big of a group. Same scope on a ar15 I get 1” or less. What kind of groups could be considered expected with 9mm barrel

    What is the general thoughts behind primary dot height? Low base, absolute cowitness, lower 1/3rd height, 1.93" mounts?

    • @jackwicker
      @jackwicker 2 года назад

      Lower 1/3 is the way to go.

    • @SeaNNyTizzle
      @SeaNNyTizzle 2 года назад

      I prefer 1.93 as long as the stock has a cheek riser. Even without one you will be alright.

    • @jackwicker
      @jackwicker 2 года назад

      @@SeaNNyTizzle 1.93 is definitely the way to go for night vision, but I feel like lower 1/3 is a perfect all arounder. It's way easier to get behind lower 1/3 than absolute while standing, but it's also way easier to get behind lower 1/3 than 1.93 while prone.

      @@TheRealPewPanda I agree. I love the size and shape of the window and the reticles, but the pixels can be distracting.

      @@steveg3593 agree! Allegedly the pixilation is a feature to make you look past and not on it but.. meh makes it look antiquated IMO.

      I did a exps2 for a while on an akv. Works great but I felt it was too much optic for it and its bulky. Put that on an ar15. Nothing wrong with going that route though if that's what you have. Military runs them on apc9's n mp5's for anyone who thinks it's not practical.
