    Now I have to get up and do exactly what you did! Mine sounds exactly like yours here. Crossing fingers. Thank you for your video here.

    I removed the bolt from the bottom of the carburetor, drain the gas out and worked for me, Thanks Great video.

    I’ve never commented on a video before, but sure enough when I loosened the bolt from the bottom of the carburetor to drain some of the gas out (which was yellowed), it started right up. Thanks a ton for this video!

    good video. Thanks. My Ryobi has been outside for a year in TX. I hooked up the garden hose but no water came out of the pump. What can I do? I checked the filter at the garden hose hook up.

    Can this run hot water

      Manual says not to use hot water. Must do something to the seals in the pump? Never tried. That gives me an idea for a video :-)

      Possibly. Just need to make sure it fits the output shaft and will fit in the chassis.

    What would be the cause of removing the oil plug and water and gas comes rushing out mixed with the oil? 😬 it’s been sitting for about 8 months still very new. Ryobi 2900psi

    • @small_engine_repair
      @small_engine_repair  Год назад

      Well I need some more information to possibly even answer that. Only way water is getting into the engine case would be through the oil fill or through the carburetor, then through a valve. Are you sure it was water and not gas?

    • @JRamirez9oh9
      @JRamirez9oh9 Год назад

      @@small_engine_repair you know could have been gas mixed with the oil. Thinking about tearing into it. Gotta learn somehow lol.

    • @small_engine_repair
      @small_engine_repair  Год назад +1

      Gas in the oil means the needle in the carburetor is not seating. This allows the bowl to overfill and gas to leak in to the top of the cylinder. Then that seeps pass the rings and into the oil. Easiest fix it to just replace the carburetor or add a on/off valve to the gas line. When not using, turn the gas off.

    • @JRamirez9oh9
      @JRamirez9oh9 Год назад

      @@small_engine_repair Thank you so much! Any additional steps like cleaning out anything relating to gas where the oil goes?

    • @small_engine_repair
      @small_engine_repair  Год назад

      I drain the oil and let it sit for for a bit, say 24 hours, without the dip stick screwed in. This give some time for the gas to evaporate. Then add oil and run it. Then check the oil. If you still smell gas in it, change the oil again.

    I tried everything, but what worked for me was simply squeezing the rubber fuel line a couple of times and then it started right up

    • @small_engine_repair

      Interesting. I wonder if something was clogged in the line?

    I tried that, but did not solve the problem. Still no fuel coming up out of the carburetor. Something inside the carb. is stuck.

    I absolutely hate this power washer. Getting it to run without it stopping is a real pain. I saw you held the washer trigger in while starting it. I'll do that too the next time I use it. Getting it started was always a real issue with pressure building up and it dying and you wouldn't be able to pull the starter cord until you pulled the trigger to release pressure. Then when you finally get it started it dies as soon as you want to start using it. I HATE THIS THING!

    • @small_engine_repair
      @small_engine_repair  7 месяцев назад

      The engine is good. Just might be your pump giving you issue.

    Great video.
    I need help. Pull start cord rips out of my hand when i attempt to pull / start it. I think its not releasing pressure and the timing is always off everytime i align it and start. Fires up but stops 10 seconds afterwards
    Does anyone know why and the fix? Its been a year and I'm still at a dead end.

      @small_engine_repair  7 месяцев назад

      Connect the water to the pump and remove the hose for the pressure wand. Now try to start it. Does is still rip the cord out of your hand? If not, when it starts, does it continue to run? If so then something is wrong with the pump.
      If it still wont run and rips the cord out of your hand you need to check the valves. Remove the valve cover and slowly pull the cord and make sure the intake and exhaust valve are opening and closing. If they are, check and set the valve lash.
      Then try starting. I will wait to hear back from you.

      Starting fluid is in a can and allows you to spray it in the carburetor.

    I’m not trying to be rude but You just turned their pressure down. That bolt was tight and it worked last year so why would you think the pressure was off instead of cleaning the carburetor jets seeings they left gas in it sitting. I had the same issue cleaned the carburetor and it started right up

    • @small_engine_repair
      @small_engine_repair  Год назад

      Hi Steve, no rudeness taken. In my experience if it was something with the carburetor it would not run right at any time. When the pump was not building pressure the engine ran fine. This tells me that the jets and passage ways in the carburetor are good. Like I said in the video I do not have a pressure gauge to test these. I should probably get one. So it is possible the customer messed with the settings before bring it in.
      I do know that after making the small adjustment on the unloader valve that the engine ran as it should under load. Again in my experience if there was something going on inside the carburetor it would not have run right under load.

      @@small_engine_repair it makes sense I’m just trying to learn more. You don’t learn without asking questions. Lol but I did see another video of a guy tightening the unloaded valve cause it was stalling.
