"They don't make 'em like that anymore" This is so true. Look at the wonderful singers in the video. In 1956, as a 13 year old kid, I got to see Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher when they visited our neighborhood in South Philly. What a beautiful couple. Fisher left Debbie for Elizabeth Taylor.
A joyous scene in a joyous movie. I fell in love with the three leading ladies when I was eight years old. The only sad aspect was that this was really the last of those unique MGM musicals. I first saw it at our magical Civic theatre here in Auckland, New Zealand.A very special memory.
Kay Armen died in 2011, aged 95. A big name in New York cabaret, she went down with the ship in 'Hit the Deck'. 'Ciribiribin', composed in 1898, was the only non-Youmans tune in the score.
It brightens my soul to see such a talented ensemble combine in a tune so endearing.
Three of the most adorable actors and singers MGM ever produced, bar none! Jane Powell, Debbie Reynolds and Russ Tamblyn!!
. . . . AND Vic Damone and Tony Martin !!!
Hank Austin, apparently Russ Tamblyn’s vocals were dubbed in this movie.
Yes! Especially Vic Damone

Yes, the Civic was magical wasn't it. And I grew up with these wonderful musicals from Mim..and Westerns from my Dad.
Best rendition from my time,Mom would sing it in Italian.I miss her so.
Russ and Debbie look like Peter and Wendy!!!
For the longest time I thought Russ was the actor and character inspiration for Peter pan.
@@chrissyr8387 Debbie should have hooked up with Russ, then she could have been Amber Tamblyn's mother too.
I love this song, but I have never seen this clip! Oh my goodness I love it!
What a happy song and lovely voices!!
I remember my sister used to play this on the accordian
I can't keep my eyes off of Debbie😍

And Russ Tamblyn! :)
faeryquene, I can not get over how good looking he is. When he’s on screen he becomes the focus of my attention.
@@inkyguy agreed😂😂😂
You don't even wonder where the orchestra is...
All have gone. Russ tamblyn is the only one alive as of 2021
