Those were the sobs of all the hurt & anger towards all those that bullied her & looked down on her. Shaoshang has had to put on a brave front and use her wits from the time her parents left her to go to battle. She had that false bravado that nothing anyone did to her would hurt her. I’m glad she let her guard down with Li Buyi but it would have been better had she told him what happened to her. She’s just so used to fighting her own battles.😢😢 My heart ached for her!

In the end to gain her trust, he use his power in the name of the emperor, and the empress questioning her in unpleasantly, why did she not tell whn she got trouble, why didnt share ? Made her feel guilty.
