Drama diluted how manipulative the ML and king both were to FL and to everyone else in general.There was no fighting because empress is mild matured and had accepted the fact that the consort is the one who is loved while she was just there. Consort was courteous to her but she was the one with real power anyway. ML pretended to support the eldest brother but he was actually always plotting against him in favour of consort's son. ' ML is quite manipulative towards FL too. FL was lucky that he took fancy to her otherwise he would have killed her when she accidentally heard him while he was plotting against the crown prince during the hunt. He pretended to save her and all but he was one of the conspirators she had listened to.

And the emporer is upset because he has been shipping them and waiting for them to get married at the palace all this time lol 😝 so he feels cheated. They only married in guo village to please shaoshengs parents. Maybe they have another wedding later for the emperor but it doesn’t show it in the drama

This emperor role is by far one of my favorites of all the period dramas I've watched. Even though he made me mad as hell sometimes, he was good 90% of the time and wasn't overly goofy. It was perfectly balanced. 😊
Still find watching this drama amazing. Everything about this drama was great, storyline, cinematography, actors, the balance of humour and serious scenes. This is one of those dramas that will still be enjoyed years from now ❤
LOL, for a series that had to got back into re-editing, due to costuming design controversy, I bet the show creators were relieved that it ended up being more successful than what they predicted it to be.

I almost finished this drama just because of the emperor. He's adorable and the best character I've ever come across in a cdrama. The fl was so badly written and irritated me to no end, even though I like the actress playing her, so eventually I had to stop. I'll miss my sweet Emperor.
Me too . For a female lead who has been abused by her aunt a lot , she should have mastered survival skills , would be a keen observant and would be smart. She should be able to fight atleast . But in the drama,the female lead lacks observation sometimes , doesn't like to exercise, doesn't know how to swim etc
