Great video. Simple yet very informative. Loved the negative cast, seems so much simpler this way. By the way, LOVED the music and cheering in the background at the end, made me smile!

this is the one i will make i liked the way you carved into the letters instead of around them which made a very clear marking brand, thats the way i will make mine thanks for a great way to do the brand, i liked it very much, i am Rouxso from South Louisiana!!

I was searching for a business who makes branding irons and I happened across you video on how to make one. Your video was SPOT ON!!! I wanted to thank you for the video, and I'll be following your site. I'll let you know how my iron turns out. By the way, LOVED the background music for your video! SALSA Rules! Que VIVA La Musica Latina!!!

great video, we have a hundred dollar branding iron that always gives me fits when I use. tthe head does not sit level, its just slightly off enough that I have to rock it just a little and about every 3rd time I will have burn over on one side which ruins it in my opinion. Then I have to plane it off or sand it off and that usually leaves an indention, which I dislike and usually end up cutting area off making a smaller board. I am almost to the point of just free handing with a hot iron. I was going to try to sand it flat this afternoon. after seeing your video I decided to pick me up several brass fittings and just make my own... I really like the 2nd one which I call a negative cast.... so glad I found your channel ... this is a great idea. Thanks

Yeah, the first one didn't really turn out but I thought I'd leave it in the vid anyway. The negative one is great. Heats up pretty quick too. The only drawback is it would be really tricky to do any sort of fine detail with this technique. Hope it works out for you!

Hey, I just fell across your channel and I like some of the stuff I see. All the different types of coasters and the brass casting was great. Cheers, Sean

This is awesome!!!! On your beer tote vid, I kept trying to pause it on the branding shot to see exactly what you were using and couldn't tell what it was, but this video explained it all. I've been trying to figure out how to best mark my work, and this is perfect. I don't have the money to pay for a custom branding iron, so thanks so much man. Happy Holidays. Sub'd a few vids back and looking forward to seeing more

Nice, have to look into doing one 👍 what size engraving attachment did you use?

It was the smallest one I could find, I honestly didn't even look at the size. Depending on how much detail you wanted to achieve the smaller the better. I kept mine pretty simple and it seemed to work out. Thanks!

Hey, really like the vid! Definitely want to try this just to put initials on my pieces. Never used a branding iron before. Was wondering if u brand your piece before sanding and finishing, does the brand smudge or run?

You’ll want to brand after sanding but before finishing. Good luck👍
