There are a lot of differences between JBL 4311 and 4311B.
1.The JBL 4311 offers a metallic grungy sound whereas
2. the 4311B has a softer sound.
3. JBL 4311 has a low mid-frequency bump. However, the 4311B has a 3 dB bump.
4. The 4311 has a damp distorted feel compared to 4311B’s clear and accurate output.
However, the 4311 comes $300 cheaper than the 4311B.
I notice that the 4311b uses 2213H woofer,
while the 4311 uses a 2213 woofer
a LE 25-2 Mid, and LE 5-10 high, ,
and LE 25 Mid, and LE 5-2 High.
JBL seemed to have 'updated' the drivers and crossovers between the regular 4311 and 4311b's
This JBL4311B is a 3-way speaker system with a 30cm woofer 2213H in the low range, a 13cm squawker LE5-12 in the midrange, and a 3.6cm tweeter LE25-2 in the high range. First, remove the speaker units and the network from the cabinet. The work involved refreshing each speaker unit and replacing all attenuators with new ones. The internal wiring material has been changed to Teflon silver-plated wiring. And the back adopts rhodium-plated terminals. The sound absorbing material in the cabinet will also be replaced with a new one. And the network capacitor uses Jantzen Audio Silver Z-Cap , aiming to reproduce thick and powerful mid-low range.
