My grandmother made her "special omelettes "like this as a special treat for us. Basically the same ingredients and method except she would pour the mixture into a small frying pan and fold it over when the top was close to cooked. Served with some sieved icing sugar . I've made them myself a few times and the difficulty lies in cooking it through without burning the bottom. so keep on very low heat . I'm definitely going to try them as demonstrated next time, thank you . 🙏💜

I made this and aced it except the egg part I always make a mess when I take the yolk out it’s hard for me but it is a very tasty recipe I really recommend! I will share this with my grandma she loves pancakes especially this texture of pancakes.I usually add syrup to my pancakes but this one tasted too good there was no need!
With very clean hands, you can just lift the yolk out. You can go back and forth with your hands instead of using the two halves of the egg shell. The bottle thing is eggs-cessive… lol get it?
Are you using a spoon as in vid (looks fussy to me) or the half egg shell method in other reply? To me using the egg shells to separate yolks in the most sensible: good use of existing resources as no other utensil required, much less goopy than using bare hands (BTW, yuck). If unfamiliar, is done over a bowl; crack the egg gently, split shell and separate the halves just enough to allow egg white to drip into bowl. Capture yolk to one half of shell, drain more white, then slide over to other half to get any remaining white. Have another bowl handy to drop yolk into, easy peasy! Yolk may break but that don’t matter for most recipes 😁
@@klf697 I figured it’s best to desensitize myself from the goop because i only cook for myself and family and I hate using single use plastic (aka gloves 😆) I separate by hand when the yolks are too fragile to use the half shells (common when you have very fresh eggs). I do I lot of baking and I end up kneading the dough by hand anyways 🫠 nothing wrong with using ya fingies so long as they are impeccably clean 😎🧼

I find it funny that I’ve been making my pancakes this way for 30yrs, way before the ‘soufflé pancake’ came about. I don’t add more batter once they start tho, so mine are not as tall.

These pancakes are the BEST. I just made them for breakfast and unfortunately only 3 made it to the table. I did a test taste and that was it, I ate it all. ☺
I don't have much longer 5o live if I had to do all That! I'd just add Cool whip instead of making merangue & use empty tuna fish cans for the shape instead of a plastic bag & funneling it in the pan!
