Like JT said, explosive exercises will help. Remember throwing isn't just your arm, have to have a solid base with your feet. Strengthening your core and hips will help you drive the ball. Not necessarily throwing the football, but with my disc and shot throwers we worked explosive lifts, and hip/core/shoulder mobility and strength. Poor hips and core= poor throwing
Big fan of the show I was wondering if you would consider breaking down some of the greats of the past would love to see your analysis of Dan Marino thanks for the content
Michael Lyon alright it’s probably the wrong time of the year anyways considering draft season. Breaking down the mechanics of John Elways throws would be awesome or Montana but especially Danny’s
That 'was' a great question and the best advise on how to develop arm strength I've ever heard. It's the kind of insight only someone who has played the position at the NFL level can give. I always thought of it in terms of strength n conditioning diet etc.
Hey if your body's right, it's going to work itself out. Years after I stopped playing baseball and went to PT for a shoulder thing I got it. I understood that my whole high School career I was weak in the legs and core. I was always compensating with other muscle groups so of course my form and technique were off. Unfortunately I needed a personal trainer but didn't have the resources to get one back then. Some people luck out when they're young whether it's natural strong body or their family can give them insane resources!
Yea, I have never been able to throw a football far. In college, I could throw a short crisp pass on the dorm floor by snapping my wrist. Today, I have forgotten how to do that. I can throw a baseball but not a football, it just wobbles, end over end, and goes nowhere when I try to throw it hard. A lack of core strength, coordination and twitch could be issues as well. The only thing I have is good touch which was developed by throwing to little nephews.
I built my arm strength thru technique and repeatedly throw in the same Right Angle arm motion and tucking that arm in and the only reason why i all ready had good arms strength is because I have stocky shoulders built like viking i also love throwing weighted footballs made with heavy materials
Careful with the QB workouts you'll find online. Most highlight just a few exercises that would be used in ADDITION to a comprehensive football specific training program.
Ever heard of ol Cal Coach ; Tedford who developed Kyle Boller 2000, to build arm strength he have him throw without cleats in muddy turf ? Concept based on using strength of arm and upper body technique. He recruited Rodgers. J.t. was recruited by Bob Biggs @ UCD - been said he might be best QB evaluator. Got to be some intangibles, the trained eye see. Most throwing freaks don’t usually excell in the pros . Why ?
I can throw 55 yards without having done Olympic lifts, if I start an Olympic lifting program can I increase my throwing distance 5 to 10 yards in 5 months not 5 years?
Damn I played baseball all of my life and thought it was eh, and then just last year I discovered that I enjoyed football. I love it and can't believe I never got into it, especially quarterback and I'm trying to get the best I can at it for flag football before my 20s are up. My elbow always sprains after I throw, which probably means my arm strength isn't there yet. Thanks for the help!
I don't think this question about building arm strength can be answered by a coach but more from a more technical individual whose studied kinesiology. Thanks anyways.
The Quarterback position is so overrated, that you wouldn't believe it. Dan Marino couldn't win one Superbowl, that also includes Dan Fout, Dan Pastorini, Danny White, and did you so called football fans know that Coaches Chuck Noll and Don Shuler Tom Landry couldn't win another Superbowl after the Pittsburgh Steelers won it's last Super Bowl in the 1979 season, 3 Coaches that were a little bit overrated as well, in fact, Bill Walsh's San Francisco 49ers teams had success winning over all 3 of them in the 1980s!

Well said.
What hip strengthening workouts help I know stretches for mobility but not strength

Man gonna churn up those vids in quarantine 😁😁

He has said that he can't because of the poor video quality of older games.

This is some fantastic content! Thank you. Could you do a form break down of Michael Vick’s throwing motion?

Would love to hear how important position coaches are .
He has a video on QB coach position

JT going mad with college evaluations on LOCKDOWN!!!!

Perfect advice JT
Have a good day god love you
You too god bless you🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I use a throwing net abs record myself. Is that fine
Sending this to Bryce Young now
Is 5pd weights fine I just wanna know if that would work
What about throwing motion? Can an inefficient throwing effect the power of your throw? Thanks. Love the vids
From what I understand, good mechanics can add a lot of power.

Damn you don't lift at all? That's impressive. I stopped lifting a year ago and all my gains went away, and I'm back at a pathetic 40 😅
love the vids God bless Jesus loves and God has a plan for all have a blessed day trust it
See Mahomes in thumbnail I click
@Dr Beyonder Do you mean he will only win one Super Bowl? How many does he have to win? From this point forward, everything will be icing on the cake.
@Dr Beyonder Other than Brady, I don't see anyone ever doing that.
I ca. Throw 50 yards im 14
Cool

I can throw the ball about 80 yards.
One of the best qbs ever Patrick Mahomes can barely do that
You look like Kyle Shannon but stronger
New to channel
@@TheQBSchool yes
@@TheQBSchool and the videos been helpful so thank you 🙏
Accuracy is more important, arm strength is overrated
I can only throw 35 yards so....
@@stressfreemind5032 same
I wanna be able to throw to someone in stride when they go deep so no arm strength is not overrated
