You should try towing your camper with the 85D to see what the potential range and efficiency would be. I also have a model s 85D 2015 and i was looking at getting a camper or buying a cargo trailer and converting it to a camper so it would be cool to see what kind of efficiency to expect.
If it was just a matter of testing efficiency and range then I'd do that just out of curiosity. I'm sure the Tesla has enough power, but the range would be very low. However when it comes to towing there's more to consider such as tongue weight, suspension and the braking capacity. The hitch on my Tesla states it can handle 300 lbs tongue weight and 2,000 lbs trailer weight. My trailer is usually sitting around 1,250 lbs tongue weight and 7,000 lbs trailer weight so that's a no go for my 85D unfortunately. Years ago before I bought my trailer I looked into getting a small trailer that my Model S could tow, but those trailers are quite small. I have a family and ultimately we got the trailer we have and waited a year borrowing other people's truck as we waited for our Cybertruck. Then I decided the Cybertruck production was taking too long so I bought the Ford F-250 that we have now while we wait for our Cybertruck.
Great video! Question on the DirtDestroyer... I also have the 2185 with the factory 2 step GlowStep. The DirtDestroyer in your video looks like the one they refer to as universal. The one torklift recommends on their site is different, and smaller looking. I'd like the bigger one myself. Can you please share the one you have?

Hello - I have a Lance 1985 Travel Trailer. I was wondering what your distance was on your TT from trailer bottom to level ground? Mine is 24-25 inches. I also wonder if you could tell me what the distance is of the 2nd step platform to the top of the glowstep frame when the 1st step is docked? When you dock the first step is it possible to adjust between positions 1-3? Thanks, Bob
26 inches from ground to floor. 10 inches from middle step to top of Glowstep frame. When the top step is docked then the three levels of adjustment is not relevant because docking it is at the top of that adjustment. Did that answer your question? In my experience so far I think two steps is preferable. I'm considering removing a step because even when there's a tall climb it looks like two steps would be sufficient, and more often than not there's too many steps, so I leave the top one docked, and the two remaining steps are unable to extend fully so there depth of the step is minimal, and the distance from the middle (top step in that configuration) step to the floor of the trailer is a big step.

I've found that my trailer exists in a non so sweet spot that captures your "too many steps" and having too large of a drop in the final step to ground. My exact distance from trailer bottom to ground is 24 inches. There is also a 3 inch distance from the floor bottom inside the trailer to the beginning of the glow step frame. Our goal was to reduce our current step into the trailer which is 10.5 inches. However the 2-step model just moves that drop to the drop to ground. Thanks for the time you took to respond. Bob
