Most people find it boring, mainly because Morrowseer is kind of just dragging Starflight around for most of the book but I do like the reveal of the prophecy being fake, first time reading it I was mind blown lol-
@@FoxEaterr I honestly enjoyed that aspect of it. It was nice to have a book that slowed down for a moment to focus on the development of one singular character. Thats just my opinion on it though! I’m aware that other people wouldn’t enjoy that as much as I would.
Honestly, book 12 was probably my favorite in the 3rd arc, from Cricket’s perspective, the worldbuilding, the conflicts, dynamics, and just the general plot, it was perfect, idk why it gets so much hate. (All the others I agree with though, especially Dragonslayer and Brightest Night)
Honestly, book 12 was probably my favorite in the 3rd arc, from Cricket’s perspective, the worldbuilding, the conflicts, dynamics, and just the general plot, it was perfect, idk why it gets so much hate.
Okay. 12 and 14 saved the third arc from its garbage trajectory with mystery and cool character arks. The last one destroyed it all and 13 was way to preachy. Talons of power is the undeniable goat. Turtle forever. Agreement with the dark secret and dragon slayer. Boring but overall they moved the plot well. Darkstalker was “Mpuk! Nice”. I’m gonna get a torch for this (sorry for the Epic the Musical Reference) but the second ark was kind of better, at least when it came to the villain and the action. Assassination attempts at a school (I live in America, it’s all too real), Mind Reading, Animus Battles, etc. I thought all of it was great. Though skull emoji to Anemone and Tamarin’s relationship. Tamarin was my blind queen and deserved Turtle or some other guy. Not bratty anemone. I’m an unapologetic Tsunami rejector though. I don’t hate her, but her personality is literally the kind of person I would fight with in real life.
I really like it, but I can understand why some don't; it's pacing is pretty slow for the first two thirds, and if they're dead set on not liking Winter they they are not gonna enjoy it.
I hate dragonslayer with a burning passion, gotta be my least fav book. The only thing that left me from closing the book were the reactions between Sky and Wren ;-;

I heard they got worse after, like, the 9th book, but there seems to be a huge mix of opinions here that shows you might not agree, but that's not necessarily wrong.
I both love and hate Darkness of Dragons. It has some of the best character work in the series and Qibli is a blast to read, but the pacing is just all over the place and I can't help but feel like the author was winging it (no pun intended). It's not so much what it does, as it is what it doesn't do that irks me. Like I fell in love with the protagonists of this arc, but here Peril and Turtle are pretty irrelevant, Kinkajou and Winter are mostly just standing around, the plot threads about Onyx and Anemone kinda come out of nowhere, and Qibli cannot shut up about Moon for five minutes yet he refuses to confront his feelings for her. The ending honestly just feels really messy to me. However, despite all my gripes I still have a blast each time I read it; it is the epitome of everything I love and hate about the second arc.
Flames of Hope was a decent book, I just didn't like how Luna was complaining about Swordtail for the majority of it, and she also just sits away from all of the action but the reason why I ranked it decent was Lizard/Freedom's death, I nearly cried
Might be an unpopular opinion but flames of hope was ass. Sucks too because I was the most excited about that one in the series other than escaping peril.
If you say you actually like dragonslayer, well, I guess everybody can have opinions but in my eyes, DRAGONSLAYER IS TGE MIDDEST BOOK EVER, and why is it so looooopoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong?
I enjoy Dragonslayer. It is surprisingly long for a WoF book, to be honest. But part of that is because (I think) it spans like 8 or so years of time, even with skipping through that time, and it has parts that happen during 5 whole WoF Books in Arc 1 (instead of just a single book). I know this because I've made lots of notes on the books for a project I've been working on. The first half or so of Dragonslayer takes place before and/or during Book 1; then it's patchy across 2, 3, and 4; and then it is also there across Book 5. I love the connections it makes with Arc 1! That may not be very interesting to you, but it was my thoughts on it.
Finally someone with a similar opinion to me. I feel the writing style became more casual and simplified in a way that just made it feel confusing. I haven't read these books for years though, and I'm too old now!
