Cheat codes are still in most games, you just enter a 16 digit number in the micro transaction section
brandon I think your humor is a little too high level for this crowd. But I really appreciated it 😂
of course and most of the time those are literal cheating.. especially in multiplayer games.
Exactly! and now it's the player being cheated instead of the game haha.
So true!
Rein Rafanan Facepalm
They disappeared and were replaced by micro-transactions
Matt Marcil yep exactly
Matt Marcil Pay to Win = New school cheat codes
:) Also the game developers are hand in hand with those websites selling "trainers", (like cheats happen), sharing the fat profits.

Easier in a way, you still can crank up the difficulty in most games.
But also so much more playable. NES/SNES - one life, one hit, one death and no saves. I don't miss that crap AT ALL.

He also said narrative will always matter, then showed Bloodborne. I'm pretty show that's the game to argue against narrative lol. Squid baby. Just sayin'.
When you only have maybe 1 hour to play per day due to work and life..Cheats are nice to eliminate time consuming grindfests in RPGs that could take me months to beat.
Derp?
that's kinda the point of the game. that's like saying "Why beat the game when i can use a cheat that beats the game for me!"
That's why people use cheat engine for getting exp, money and items (like transforming 2 potions into 99 potions). Say no to grind in single player games.
Depending on the game it can even improve the gameplay depending on your preference, I personally HATE encumbrance/inventory management so its one of of my most often used "cheats" in games
Another example is Sims my girlfriend and I will often use it to get a rough idea of a room, apartment, house etc. layout before moving heavy furniture around so the money cheats are great for this.
In alot of RPGs granting yourself a bunch of xp or a particular ability to test its function to see if your reading it right before building around or using "cheats" to allow you to "respec" since despite the fact that say...lightning spells look really cool it seems 20 hours into the game most enemies are immune or extremely rsistant to it so your lightning mage is basically useless (so many games seem to scoff at adding a respec option for some reason)
Note: This is from a single player and in certain cases local co-op perspective, online multiplayer should not have or be extremely careful implmenting "cheats"
@@mrpndaman129 good for you, but for some of us don't have the time or patience to grind out countless hours. I personally want to progress through the story and game play instead of grinding out repetitively. One specific game for me was wild arms 3,. For fucks sake I loved that game, I couldn't finish it though because of all the stupid random encounters. I kept getting. Wish there was a cheat code I could use to limit the random encounters in that one.
I used to buy the cheat code book from my school book fair every year! :) The good ole days
Same here. I've saved up some coins just to buy one thing, the cheat book. Gosh, I feel like a fossil now

Now they're called micro transactions
Heisnberg True
Nah, microtransactions usually don't amount further than the equivalent of 'spawn X', if that's all you used cheat codes for before, I pity the life you wasted.
I've seen cheat packs here and there, but for the most part it's for exactly the reason in the video. If you play on a PC, you can access many of the debug commands the developers may have used still, giving some equivalent of them, but for the most part it's simply unnecessary.
Heisnberg Haha you made me laugh!
I have literally never seen a micro transaction that is worth spending the money on. I have played TTTOONNNNNSSSSSSSSS of mobile games and found nothing. The only things that are somewhat worth spending money on are apps that aren't games, like a speedometer app I paid 2 dollars for so I could have the full features after doing some really massive upgrades to a car. The in app purchases for games are literally, "Hey, give us $4.99 for something you'll use up in 30 seconds!" and cheat codes in the old days were "Hey, push these buttons and you can have 30 extra lives without paying anything extra so it's actually somewhat possible to beat Contra!" So I wouldn't say cheats are now "called micro transactions". But I do understand your joke and your point. I think people really, desperately, need to STOP spending a dollar for an extra try in Candy Crush Saga. Even if you can afford it. It does nothing but encourage the micro transaction idea to continue, rather than the pay once keep it forever model that has been extremely successful and beneficial to people without buckets of cash they can throw at a game in order to pay to win. The other fucked up thing about those transactions is that if you can afford to "occasionally" toss 99 cents their way, over the course of a few months, you could easily afford a full game on Steam, considering all the discounts they regularly run. Hell, a few years ago, I got Terraria for $2.50, now it's 10 dollars and I still play it from time to time. Even for 10 dollars, you can't get that kind of replay value from an inapp purchase. Ever.
Microtransactions are more of two dudes standing around, one says to the other, "Hey, you remember video arcades? Weren't they great? You just plonked down the machines, paid for electricity and a little maintenance, and money just rolled in!" "Yeah, what of it?" "Well what if we could get them to pay for the electricity too!"
They still exist they just call them micro transactions now
Those are cheats for sure "Microtranstions" imo ..have always been a cheat so it's truly fitting. Makes a ton of sense now I think about it.
FlameSp33y AMV its like moremoney code from spore but you pay for it when you use it
Their is the console in computer were you can cheat from.
Selecterstylee No... Saints Row is like the only actual relevant game to make you pay for cheats.
That's completely true lol
My game!! My Experience! basically if you paid for the game I believe you are entitled to tamper with it, except of course in Online games where cheating could definitely affect others!
My favorite thing to do, way back when, was to (after I had beaten a game on my old NES for the first time), break out the Game Genie. If you owned a Game Genie, you will likely remember that, in addition to the printed codes, they had 2 methods of altering codes. I used these two methods to create my own method which was kind of a synthesis of both methods, and usually had the result of taking whatever the original code did, and ramping it up to 11, causing the game to break in really weird ways. For example, I tried applying my method to the "mega jump" code in Mega Man 3. The result was that, every time I jumped, I would immediately skyrocket out the top of the screen (regardless of whether there was a ceiling above me or not), in through the bottom, and so on for about a minute before spontaneously dying. Now, obviously, this made the game completely and totally unplayable, but I thought it had been a cool effect. I just loved break-testing games this way.
I miss pressing a few buttons and having the entire city riot in old GTA games.

Phyzae how lol
Incorrect. Micro transactions are things you buy (usually for an advantage but sometimes for purely cosmetic purposes (I'm fine with cosmetic because it provides no advantage)) and cheat codes are a button combination or a *_code_* (shocking right?) that you type in.
Y'all asking why or how you do realize a lot of cheats were cosmetic why code being blue when you can sell it

San Andreas was the king of doing stupid shit with cheat codes. spawn tank, spawn car, invincibility, cash codes, jet pack, flying car, and making npc's fight were just a few of my favorites. (sigh) PS2 days:(

Playing SA on my jailbroken ps3 is awesome
Im surprised you didn't touch on the one of the main reasons I have. Back in the cheat code prime of the late 90s early 2000s games like GTA were played purely for fun. Beating the story, stealing cars, and playing split screen with friends was fun. And then when you were done playing, you turn off the game and come play the next day, that was literally it, which was why cheats were so fun to use because for example, you put on infinite ammo and all of a sudden its a whole new game, a whole new experience. But it seems to me cheats started phasing out when games became a lot more serious. All of a sudden when the xbox 360 came out, now you have achievements, gamer scores, online data bases that tracked every stat of every game, online gaming started becoming the games main attraction rather than the story mode. Games became viciously competitive when all this started happening in the mid 2000s and anything that gave one player any advantage over another player became shunned. Now a days entering cheats causes you to deactivate achievements, not allow you to continue with parts of the story mode, and they can misrepresent your in-game stats, etc. Which is part of the reason why devs got away from them.
TLDR: is that everyone loved cheats when games were purely for fun and entertainment, now games are so serious and competitive and every stat you have is so closely tracked that unfair alterations of the game have been phased out. just my 2 cents.
Yea, games are becoming less fun too. I work enough irl, my hobbies dont need to be a nosegrind as well.
There are very few games i can actually enjoy nowdays, they take too much time and money. And casual games are for babies and old people.
I can remember a few games where it was not possible to deactivate the Cheats, which in some way used to be the punishment before. Banjo Kazooie was a fun one which warned and then actually erased your save if you cheated too much. I have to admit, there was really something lost
This was a great breakdown bro
I recently picked up Jedi Outcast on Steam and blew my kids minds (as well as my own) that I still remembered about half the cheat commands nearly 20 years later. Good times.
I remember programming a smart phone game, and forgot putting some symbols and it made my game harder, so I just fixed it and added the harder version as another part.

another reason that cheat codes are disappearing from games is that most games any more focus on online multi player rather than a single player/ story mode
120skyscraper Not eveb remotely true. The overwhelming majority of the market is avtually tailored to sjnglenplayer experiences. Only the more "mainstream" games are focused on MP
Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight had the console command "DEEZNUTS," which boosted all your Force powers by one point. Yes, LucasArts, a kid-friendly company, put deeznuts into a Star Wars game.
Some other cool-sounding cheats from that game were "RACCOONKING" (all Force powers), "YODAJAMMIES" (restore manna), "IMAYODA" (all light side powers), and "JEDIWANNABE 1" (god mode).
I used to love cheats...I honestly miss them. I used to have Game Genie's, Game Sharks, Code Breakers...used these all the time after I finished a game, it helped up the replayability. I mean I remember modding the hell out of my Pokemon Red and Gold versions (I used Blue and Silver as the non-cheat ones), or winning money from friends in Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005) because I used a code called "Max Infinite NOS" and I learned how to drive perfectly around the city with NOS held down at all times...so when they would race me without cheats...it was like everything was in slow motion and they couldn't touch me.
Nowadays though, I'm a die hard trophy hunter...and any games I've ever played that still has cheats in them almost always disables trophies...so unless I have the Platinum already, they end up being useless to me anyways.
My favourite cheat code and the one that is more nostalgic is flying cars in GTA SA on the PS2 so much fun
Anti Veladas Hell yeah boiiii!!!!!!!!
That flying car cheat was baller, it sure made zooming across the map easier and faster.
my sister and i still play gta sa to this day because of multiplayer free roam and the flying car cheat.

Anti Veladas There was another cheat that made it where if you hit a car it would just ascend to the sky 😆
Gotta always love them San Andreas cheats. ❤
Jeremiah Gaines agree
Anyone else remember jumpjet for the Hydra?
Srg. Random me still remember them to this day
Jeremiah Gaines lol, same.. but it was more fun to use cheats on gta vice city, like the cheat 'pantzer', this would spawn a rhino (tank) next to you, and i did 2 things with the rhino, 1. i spawn 1 rhino, get in the rhino, start driving on a long road, then turn my barrel 180 degrees to shoot backwards, and kept shooting until i flew away over vice city (VC is the only gta game i know the rhino barrel force doesnt have a limit), or 2. going to vice city airport, and verry closly next to the military base the is a building, with 2 roads, 1 normal level, 1 under that road, and started spawning like 400 rhino's, until my game was on the edge of crashing, and then i made 1 rhino explode, to make a chain reaction, i could do that all day, and optional but only really usefull for GTA Vice City: the Car hoverboat cheat, to drive on water, that was great!!... sweet old times men.. sweet old times.....
IGS-DB Productions. Copyrighted Inc. I was a console gamer lol, but I know what you mean. Also mayhem mode?(referring to another commenter)you mean riot mode? My favorites were flying cars, 6 stars, unlimited health, infinite ammo, fast motion(shotguns and rpgs become machine guns 😂) riot mode, super Punch, and peds have weapons
One of my favorite non-Konami cheats was for Mega Man III. Holding Left on the Player 2 controller would allow Mega Man to jump higher & even become invincible if there was a stage that had pits. This however, wouldn't work when landing on or touching spikes.
I remember using the state of emergency cheat code a lot back in GTA: SA. I loved to see the city filled with chaos and make my own story from that, kinda like roleplaying.
I love the cheat codes from the Age of Empires and Age of Mythology games. Not just because of the resources but also how nonsensical some of them are. A meteorite shower made of chicken, a bust of George Washington that can spit fire, a flying pink hippo - just to name a few.
The Monster truck. ^^
I remember playing with friends on a LAN party, trying to play it propperly, and the someone getting desperate and using the HOWDOYOUTURNTHISON cheat. 2 minutes later, the whole map was filled with machine gun cars. Good times.
And it's even funnier since the Age of Empires games tend to be incredibly realistic, lol.

I used some Cheats in the Warcraft III campaign. Some of the levels were just frustrating hard or long and I wanted to know how the story goes on. So I never skipped a level but I used things like *keysersoze* for gold and wood or *whosyourdaddy* for god mode or *warpten* to build faster (which also effects the opponent) so that I dont miss any of the Conversations which happened during Gameplay.

I used to use a lot of cheats on GTA: Vice City. Cars driving on water, was the main one, along with character skins. As someone who sucked at the games at the time or wasn't interested in the story, it was a great way to explore other areas of the map. Even the cars were different.

Enver Ozbey companies are starting to sell game features as DLC's or add-ons. Things like flying cars, super punches, etc.
Enver Ozbey Back in the old days there were playtesters hired by the devs. Today the gamers buy early access to playtest for the devs... we pay to work for them :/
Old Tomb Raider games had a nice skip level cheat code, people would often also suggest that a slight variation of that code would let you... see a little more of Lara.
Needless to say that wasn't a thing, and that code blew you up instead.
Elementalism :D lol,
i remember using a cheat code for Darius Twin for the snes, boi that game was nightmare to pass just the first lvl, after that the other levels were really easy, but that cheat code make me saw the game itself, and how good was, more than just the first level music and game over scene :3
In Gothic 2there were cheats like take control over an NPC.And so a friend and I had a great time creating our own Storyline with Xardas. We had so much fun, that it took quite a while until we noticed that Xardas is invincible. Because he gives out the Main Quests and you couldn´t finish the game if he accidentally dies they made some Characters unkillable even if you take control over them.
Cheat codes or console commands are always a nice thing.Because when you finish it,the replayability is still there and you can experiment and even make it more fun.

Hmm, don't want to restart all over to test this but what if.. *command line to get destruction 100 and all perks and try to kill stuff as mage* it's always pleasurable to be able to test shit before going head on into it, chating levels, spells, items, etc, even if temporary should be a thing in all single-player games.
games today can simply be moded. That way you’re not stuck with the cheats provided, you can dream up any cheat imaginable
Drexxler 1 modding games isn't anything new and I would guess it used to be easier to mod games when games were simpler. Consoles still don't have the ability to mod games, bethesda "mods" don't count in my opinion. So not really at all.
Heliotarra bethesda mods suck, but their a step in the right direction.
ah yes, i remember getting impulse 101 cheat for all weapons and skill scientists in the intro missions of half life, and spawning aliens under a elevator so they get crushed by the elevator or marines on top of lethal machinery that can kill. still very fun to do.
They were removed once tracking achievements become commonplace.
The Playhouse The real answer!
The Playhouse not really most games can just disable achievements once you type in a cheat
The Playhouse most games turn off achievements when you use cheats so that's a no to this one
Jason Hofmann yeah Serious Sam for example does that.
altho yes they can disable achiements if u type a cheat , but with mods and other ways to alter games programmings you can turn them back on , so i think thats the reason , its sad realy cus i enjoyed wrecking havec back in gta SA 😔

Mohamed Lamine Benzagouta hahah Yes!!
I miss cheats soooo much!! It’s not that I or anyone else needed them, but they were real nice to have to play around with.
I think there are not many games today that use cheat codes because most of them now are connected online even single player games. (Leaderboards).
you could so easily work around that tho by just having a simple piece of code in your game like:
if they're using a cheat then lock achievements/leaderboards until the game is exited and resumed without cheats
or
for every cheat used add a "Score Bonus" of like, -1,000,000 points/cheat.
or
If they cheated to get on the leaderboard their name gets a little thing next to it that lets everyone know it was cheat-assisted (like something demoralizing, like a mocking nickname in italics or a pink bunny icon)
any of those would take an hour to program and function as a "divider" between the different types of players... the last one is more of deterrent tho, not a divider.Something you'd probably see in a doom/duke nukem game lol
this. just by reading the title i was 100% sure that some asshat would have said "but now everything its online duh lulz lolz" as a lame excuse...
I'm playing again the old and brutal GRAW (Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter) and some levels are nearly impossible without "cheating". That said, it's a lot harder than the modern Wild Lands, the latter doesn't need cheats at all.
GTA 4 did the achivement thing.
The problem with online leaderboards is almost every single one is hacked. In every game I play that has leaderboards, the top 200+ slots are filled with people that have billions of points when the max is a million or so, or a speedrun time of 00'00'000.
The cheat I remember most is the original sonic the hedgehog.. up,down, left, right, hold A, START.. now chose a level..

I used the Konami Code, and I recall level skip and some others as well in PS games. But the main code I recall was hitting ~ to enter command prompt in most early PC games (Hexen, Heretic, etc) and simply typing 'god' or 'godmode' to turn invincibility on.

Because there too many multiplayer focused games out here and most of the real single player games are adventure types of games. Seriously, not everyone in love with FUCKING MULTIPLAYER. GODDAMNIT!!!!!!
Super Spicy Dankster . I can agree 100%
Yes! And I hate the ones that only have online myltiplayer. I have 2 brothers and I would love to play something, like Destiny, locally.
Turtles day out ...YAAAASSSSSSSSS
I'm in love with local couch multiplayer though, I miss the olden days when I play 007: Everything or Nothing or Conflict: Vietnam with my friend. Good times.
Not in love with multiplayer, because you aren't good at multiplayer
Ahhh the good ole days of cheatplanet, game genie, game shark, action replay and playstation underground. Miss those days.
in some games there is debug mode implemented that allows to mess with "cheats" and other things in game console
you can try to activate it but it needs eather a separed file witch works like a password or a password that you enter before activation
if it is online game debug mode usualy disables playing with others and instead it will connect you to a special debug server
Ahh cheat codes, how i remember you fondly. From playing Sonic the Hedgehog and turning on debug mode, turning into random objects, selecting levels, and of course unlocking Super Sonic, was great fun.
Or using my Gameshark and/or GameGenie plugging in every game i had to see what amazing things i could do on all my favorite games! Yes for those who dont know, you actually plugged the cartridge into these things like some sort of Frankenstein operation and it gave you a bunch of cheat codes. Although it would sometime ruin your saves which was RAGE INDUCING!
R.I.P 90's, good times.....
akame ga kill!!!!
you just reminded me that bro died😔
R.I.P the one and only, Bro. A true bro till the end!
Maybe you'll be interested in the views of an old time game developer, around 1989. Back then we were often only one or two people programming a game on multiple platforms and the cheat "codes" built in were for development. In one case for PC and Atari ST I built a level editor right into the game and used it myself to create the levels, but the publisher didn't like it. So I created a way for me to leave it in but gate it, so it's not "in the game" from the start (only after you finished it).
I myself never used keystrokes, but more hidden flags, like a specific name in the "Player Name" field or the existance or content of a specific file and I am sure developers today still do it similarily, maybe even through network parameters or DNS names.
It's just way more simple to do QA when you have a way to bypass certain things. If the publisher asks you to "show level 43" they don't want you to play a couple hours through the first 42, and because they will want to test the master version, it must be possible to skip in the master.
Debugging the code isn't one of those things, though, that's typically done with _DEBUG flags in the code and conditional compilation, even back then. That code never left my desk, simply because it would slow down the game and fill up the gamer's hard disk (or floppy...) if I left it on.
Padraigh Claigh yeah this video is wronn
hey, what games did you help create?
Padraigh Claigh what games did you make
Mindbender in 89 and The Second World in 90 are two that you should be able to find
Paradaigh Claigh
Second world is an amazing Game. I played it on C64 as one of my first Video games. Very unic gameplay. I think it influenced strategy games a lot.
I used to play Lego Mars Mission on the Lego website and I'd use the code "newbie" sometimes. It gave x3 health to allied units and buildings. Shame the game no longer exists though, it was a good game
All ammo and all weapons were my favorite. Also serious Sam was my all time fun shooting game. Unreal tournament as well.
I want my cheat codes back. I don't want game-advancing cheats like invincibility or no clip, I want shit like big head mode or a character skin.
Zudexa you wanna play shovel knight then
It has like 500 cheat codes for each character
Zudexa Its called DLC now :(
Zudexa B I G H E A D M O D E
You mean DK mode. Paintbal mode. Golden PP7. Yup.
And my favorite cheat code in life is pretend I’m sick to not go to school
Or work.
Infinity Stones
lmfao
That code never worked, only way I could skip school was if my parents actually witnessed me throwing up or I was so sick I was sent to the hospital : /
The jet pack cheat in gta sa ! Best cheat I’ve ever used
Idkfa god mode or all the guns cant remember which for the 1st doom still remains in my brain and havent played that game since the late 90s
Tony Hawk had some amazing cheats.
Explicit Tech Agreed!!!
Tony Hawk had the best cheat codes
yes
I always had the gravity cheat on so there were moments when I could do like 5 backflips

"games have gone easier"
**shows dark souls**
There aren't as many hardcore difficult games like Battletoads, Contra or F-Zero GX out there.
Dark Souls is hard in a fair way, and maybe older games were difficult to a fault. Bad controls made the grapple beam and walljump harder than needed in Super Metroid.
Cuz reasons
no. DS has been made PURPOSEDLY hard.so it doesn't count
Loghan Gaming Duh, he chose 3, the easiest of the series
dark souls isnt that hard demons souls was harder than any dark souls any game where you can simply learn the enemies attack pattern and defeat them is not hard the only people that think dark souls is had is those that treat it like a button masher
Any gta cheat but san andreas was esp fun cuz i loved the super human bunny hops on bikes.. but also most the gtas i would use slow motion and cars can fly so i could fly over to the next Island without doing any missions
There used to be a market for them. A tricky combination,or code printed in magazines and the games guides were more practical to buy. Then the internet was in every hand.
They're still here. You just gotta pay for them.
Exactly!
Tosgys ps3 version of star wars the force unleashed
Really? I don't remember being able to buy big head mode in any of the games I have....
Tosgys and what cheats from what game are you able to buy lol
Jody Boles like I said star wars the force unleashed 1 for ps3 and Xbox 360.
They became paid DLC...
Perfect answer mister Chadwick.
The only answer that matters.
Karl Chadwick thats the short answer i was looking for....
Karl Chadwick Facts
Yup
Omg ty for the NES TMNT clip!
My favorite was "jokeplease" on The Sims game console (Ctrl+Shift+C). What an amazing debugging tool it is.
tony hawks pro skater. moon gravity...
This.
Perfect balance though. I was one of the people that just wasnt that good. But suddenly could do x1000 trick combos
Moon gravity + high jump + perfect balance = totally different game
Plot twist: There are a lot of cheat codes in every game but nobody finds them
Plot_twist2: They are called microtransactions
i agree mrgranturismo4ever
Mrgranturismo4ever Dude stfu u piece of shit it was a joke
Mrgranturismo4ever edgy
DarkEntX Bro, that shit was a joke too.... He used waaaaaay too many insults/adjectives for it to be taken seriously.
Good old Doom 64, I still remember it to this day: ?TJL BDFW BFGV JVVB
Love the fire cheat in half-life 2, which let u go to places ur not supposed to go by burning through(if the item delete cheat didn’t work, like with some doors and invisible barriers)
At this point it's not even that they aren't including cheats, they actively stop people from using cheats... in SINGLEPLAYER only games... like why?
Because, the fun is going from games, Its all about money and not the experiance anymore, Take GTA V, its to boring to have any fun with and there just using it as a cashcow now, Which is really a depressing thaught....
TalkativeWhiterunGuard You used a horrible example like holy shit the only micro transactions are buying money in online mode and there are tons of cheats. that's the game you picked as an example instead of oh I don't know every fucking game that's not a football game that EA releases? or how about destiny?
Jack Attacker you resorted to name calling instead of thinking of an intelligent response to my argument I think that calls your intelligence into question if anything
Rigó János i use cheat engine, work with most new games
Jakub Jakubovic using cheatengine is like creating a trainer which is bery easy and and better than cheats
"dlc" like shark cards, map packs and purchasable characters/clothing/weapons killed cheats. They make 60$ games with half you still have to buy. Greed killed cheats and made gamers break the bank to play.
shark cards are only for online play
Or PLAY THE FUCKING GAME TO EARN IT
and? gta v is shit without online
shark cards aren't dlc. theres nothing downloadable about them. but i see what you're getting at there.
Back in the day expansion packs were a big deal but weren't so sought after. That and they often had an entirely new branch of gameplay and content to try out. I miss those.
But you pretty much need them in order to try out any of the DLC vehicles without spending a couple of days grinding
As a kid I read a book and the main character’s name was Fudge. Playing Jedi Knight II on the GameCube I just was putting random words into the cheat code section and put Fudge just for fun. Lo and behold it unlocked the lightsaber on ALL levels and come to find years later it was the ONLY code for the GameCube version of the game.
ACUBUBAD for Mortal Kombat 3. Cant remember what it did, but I remember the sequence like it was yesterday. Everyone remembers the Konami code, it's infamous, but its every other cheat code that very few remember. thereisnocowlevel being the exception to this being probably the second most infamous.
"games have gotten easier" *proceeds to show gameplay of dark souls*
superguitarmaniac100 ez game
superguitarmaniac100 git gud, casul!
I mean it's one of the harder games nowadays (though it's not that hard), it's nothing compared to some of the more difficult games from back in the day. The biggest difference between Dark Souls and the old games that were hard was Dark Souls is actually fair. Seriously, Dark Souls is challenging, difficulty in some games back then was just straight up unfair and bullshit
I think he was showing the gameplay of Dark Souls to show that cheat codes not being as common aren't to do with the difficulty of games. If cheat codes were to make games easier for people, then Dark Souls would definitely have them, but it doesn't.
Its not that games are easier its that games are just better designed now. Gamers just dont realize that
We can still trust good ole GTA for cheats.
Pro_Boss _Slayer and Saints Row
CanYouSmellWhatISee cocobutterjankens don't forget the classic flying cars and drive on water
GTA V has some of the most fun cheat codes. Enabling super speed and super jump and moon gravity while using all explosive weapons when running from the cops is so much fun
And Lego
still waiting on my jetpack
Having the ability to toggle clipping is good to prevent a character getting stuck, be it because of a ground mesh defect or an object trapping a character against a wall, whatever the case may be it's far better to be able to noclip through it then have to reload a save and lose progress because of a defect in the game. Alternatively you might need resources to build a base or something which you'll have to gather and that can take a long time, if you're an adult with a full time job you might not have the time to do that and in that case having cheat that lets you spawn items saves you from having to abandon the game.
I would always use the jet-pack cheat code on gta sa on my ps2. Every single time. I still remember it. R1 r2 l1 l2 up down left right R1 r2 l1 l2 up down left right. It was definitely my favorite!
