@Yug Mittal Ooh, nice. They might do a legal contract where if Miyagi-do/Eagle Fang wins the tournament, Silver gives back their homes (just like in Karate Kid II !!!)...but if Cobra Kai wins, he puts them all on the street.
Terry is my favorite character in the series. Honestly I liked him best when Kresse came to his house and Terry wanted to be left alone to his peaceful life.
One of the great things about Cobra Kai is how they take bits of characters & expand on it in realistic ways that stay true to the character. Im betting that Silver comes back much more subdued, explaining that he was high all the time in the 80s & now wants to make amends. The twist would be that even though he's subdued now, he's still a sociopath, only sober now. A quiet, contemplating villain is much scarier than a loudmouth ridiculous one. There were seeds of that in KK3 so it would work.
Especially since his behavior does change a lot throughout the movie itself. In that sauna scene he seems high off his rocks LOL but in the bubble bath he’s a calm calculating businessman. Makes sense!
Terry Silver is one of my all-time favourite villains. The guy looked like he was always having the time of his life. He absolutely loved being the bad guy. Smart, clever, dangerous, arrogant but actually able to back it up.
I remember by the time kk3 came out, my friends and I were kind of over Daniel and the overdramatic whining and Jessica lol. We were quoting Silver and Barnes all summer. Totally awesome to have silver back in cobra Kai, my guess is Barnes isn't far behind
Say what you want about the man but Terry Silver is a great fighting instructor that actually taught Danny how to fight and defend himself and taught him some real world fighting principles
You know you’re a badass when Conti gave you your own theme music. Can’t wait to see Terry Sliver in season 4 so he can say AHHSAH AHHSAH AHHSAH when he fights .....Bring Mike Barnes back too lol.
Not true, they both called Miyagi a slope, but Terry did so a lot more often, and also mocked asian karate screams in the same way Tom Cole and Kyler's gang did in season 1.
@Alien West If they were trained by a South Korean, they probably learned it from him. South Korea and Japan have a rocky relationship with each other to this day, let alone Vietnam era when they'd have trained.
I can see Johnny bringing up Silver's name to Daniel and Daniel just having this oh shit look on his face. Johnny would say He can't be worse then Kreese right? And Daniel would just say nothing his face would say it all.
@A Cobra Kai Fan you just said why he wants to come back again, for personal revenge. The parameters aren’t at all the same as last time and he could have done way worse if he wanted to. Daniel would have been toast if it weren’t for Mr. Miyagi who no one has ever laid even a finger on.
@A Cobra Kai Fan I think it became his shame. He saw that despite all his skill, deceit and wealth, he couldn’t lay a finger on an old man. I think they will see this as an opportunity to do a better job with the character than the third movie did.
Agreed on all these points. Silver is a great character. Reminds me of Palpatine, he just delights in being the bad guy and gleefully chews on all his scenery. The only critique I have is the anachronistic suggestion that he was old enough to have served in Vietnam. The actor was born in 1962 and would have been 13 by the conclusion of the war in 1975. Would've made more sense for him to have been involved in the conflicts in Lebanon or Grenada based on his age.
It does help that Thomas Ian Griffith has generally looked a lot older than his actual age and is somehow able to pull off the role of someone much older quite convincingly though
Terry silver was the best villian in all the karate kid movies, when he returns in cobra kai it will be very awesome! Ive been wanting terry silver to return more than any other character from the karate kid series.
They were pulling inspiration from Scarface/Tony Montana, another great over the top character, with conducting business while smoking a cigar in a bubble bath.
I definitely agree with you there. 😎 Plus, I can see an AU crossover between the 1983 film *Scarface* and the *Karate Kid* films where an ethical vampire version of Daniel LaRusso is lying in a bubble bath (but without the cigar), while Tony Montana watches from afar, the latter soon realizing Daniel isn’t exactly human when he recalls the time he saw Daniel’s vampiric nature when he’d tried to shoot him with his “little friend” (a M16 with an M203 40mm grenade launcher attached to the barrel) for the first time, only to have Daniel rise up and the bullet wounds disappear without a trace.
He moves so gracefully and his height just helps make his karate look so great. So many fight scenes had to limited in the movies because they focused on great actors as opposed to good actors that knew karate. If Griffith has kept his karate up to par, I can’t wait to see a fight between him and Johnny, whose karate also looks pretty dang good. I remember when the I saw KK3 in the theaters and most people at school hated it and saw Terry as too over the top to take seriously but the perception has changed a lot over the years. I can’t wait to see what he brings to CK
Man I LOVED this video, the way you described the Character in FULL detail, the easter eggs no one knew, the behavior patterns he has and History... EVERYTHING about was BADASS!! Very enjoyable!
Na, Terry will just bribe the police, the judge and jury that he's been snorting cocaine. He'll just be a pest that have to be taken down first as a sample to Daniel that no matter how rich he is, he won't be as rich or powerful or as influential as him.
Never thought we’d have a Karate Kid Universe but here we are. The lore is actually interesting and in the Cobra Kai series you see just how good of actors all the characters are. To make something as silly as tournament karate so dramatic and intense. The classic & new character are all good I don’t think there’s a character I don’t like.
Man, you hit the nail right on the head regarding Terry Silver, along with his return! I'm so happy he's back! I cannot wait for season 5! I bet Mike Barnes and possibly Snake could return as some of the friends Terry wants to help run Cobra Kai while John Kreese is dealing with his legal troubles ha ha! Should be exciting to watch!!
Just had an idea: what if he doesn't care about Kreese (he was possibly going to rip him off with the percentages). What if his ego cant handle owing anyone anything so he just wants to settle the debt.
@@marcopineda9507 Yep, you're right! He also owes a debt to Daniel (revenge) that he wants to settle (it's probably been burning him up for years). BTW, Narcissists with Sociopathic tendencies (like our buddy Silver) don't actually care for anyone. People are just things to be used & tossed when they're done. Interesting that you can actually see the seeds of him ripping off Kreese in KK3. I just wish they would have shown a foundation of that in the flashbacks in Cobra Kai. Generally people like that will show tendencies in adolescence before it becomes full-blown.
Yeah he’s the spiritual opposite of Mr Miagi. Mr M is peaceful, lives a simple life and is in harmony with nature. Silver is aggressive, lives a life of luxury and destroys the environment. And just as Miagi has a gift for drawing out the good qualities in a person, Silver draws out the bad. He is the yin to Mr Miagis yang 🤯 I can’t wait to see him again in Cobra Kai
Terry Silver did really well in Season 4, his appearance and what he did made a big difference and now Cobra Kai season 5 has lots of possible outcomes. Obviously, we know one guaranteed part of season 5, that Miguel is looking for his father other than that Silver made a big impact on season 4 but we will see what will happen in season 5!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great video! Possible correction, at 6:00 "From Terry, we first learn Cobra Kai's catchphrase (Cobra Kai, Never Dies)". There appears to be a chant of "Cobra Kai, Never Dies" in the first film at the start of the tournament when Ali is explaining the rules to Daniel. Though some argue this chant is heard as "Cobra Kai, Live or Die". It's unclear, and the subtitles do not clarify.
It's very clear they are saying it in the first movie, but no one use it in conversation before Terry in KK3, so your info is half right in my opinion, btw Silver will be in Cobra 4 season
I watched this film on New Years Eve so I was a little drunk but in between me laughing at the parts that were completely over the top and ridiculous was actually a very well acted film of Silver manipulating, terrorizing and emotionally and physically diminishing Daniel to the point that I genuinely believed and understood why Daniel was so scared of him and Mike Barnes. I think the psychological warfare was well played for the most part. Very interesting to see where they take this character.
I bet he has Stingray follow Daniel all the way to Okinawa and had Tom Cole convinced the board members of Doyona to switch dealership and had Stingray take photos of Daniel and Kumiko to Amanda, feeding her "the wrong idea" to the point that they're in the brink of divorce..... and Terry is just listening in the shadows......"perfect". Hell, I bet he bailed out Stingray for these types of "missions", Kreese must've told Silver all about him and how he applied as a security guard to beat up the kids in Miyagi do.
@@nebularain3338 Would have been a great revenge on Miyagi, basically turning Daniel into a Robby from Cobra Kai S3 and alienating them. But they focused their revenge scheme on Daniel, oops
Hit it on the nail with the Silver to Miyagi dichotomy of WW2 vs Vietnam. It was a big deal for the Vietnam combat vets to come back home and face verbal or even physical attacks, in addition to being discriminated against. In many instances it was even the WW2 vets against them so they were not necessarily united even as veterans. We saw something depicted on screen even greater - Rambo, a vietnam vet vs Sheriff Teasle, a Korean war vet who spat on those who served in Vietnam.
I love his chaotic energy. He will be great in Cobra Kai. I think he was better then Kreese as a teacher and karate master. He lasted longer in a fight then Kreese and if he weren't trying to destroy Daniel he would've been a great teacher for him. Silver is 100% my favorite movie villain.
I've always wondered why a millionaire businessman would drop his day-to-day business to harass a teenage boy ? And how does one make money by dumping toxic waste in Borneo ?
You would have to have been in Vietnam or prison to really understand the debt of gratitude that Twig aka Terry Silver owes his dear friend John Kreese.
Its probably more about saving money with the dumping. He wouldn't have to pay for permits for disposal, cost for disposal, and wouldn't have to pay bribes if they just dump...
It will be interesting to see how Terry Silver's appearance in Season 4 will change the dynamic between Kreese, Johnny and Daniel since Johnny never interacted with Silver (presumably) but Silver has history with both Kreese and Daniel.
I've been trying to articulate why I love Karate Kid 3 so much, sometimes even more than part 2.. because of this over the top 80's villain... thank you for at least articulating its strongest asset.. the main villain, Terry Silver

🤔
Very plausible
@Yug Mittal Ooh, nice. They might do a legal contract where if Miyagi-do/Eagle Fang wins the tournament, Silver gives back their homes (just like in Karate Kid II !!!)...but if Cobra Kai wins, he puts them all on the street.
Terry is my favorite character in the series. Honestly I liked him best when Kresse came to his house and Terry wanted to be left alone to his peaceful life.
The thing I like most about Silver is his constant raucous laughter, even when he is doing something abhorrent, that guy knows how to have fun.
They could explain terry's hyperbolic behaviour in the show as him being on cocaine. It is L.A and it was the 80's
No sh**
Dude, u called it!
Bruh….
Couldn't agree more
Say what you want about the man but Terry Silver is a great fighting instructor that actually taught Danny how to fight and defend himself and taught him some real world fighting principles
You know you’re a badass when Conti gave you your own theme music. Can’t wait to see Terry Sliver in season 4 so he can say AHHSAH AHHSAH AHHSAH when he fights .....Bring Mike Barnes back too lol.
Now the real pain begins Danny boy.
@Alien West There were no signs of them being racist, they hate Mr Miyagi for the same reasons they hate Daniel.
@Alien West correction they are Korean Karate practitioners also known as Tang Soo Do.
Even if the movie is mediocre, you have to appreciate the fact that they wrote such an incredible villain for it. He stole the show for sure.
I can see Johnny bringing up Silver's name to Daniel and Daniel just having this oh shit look on his face. Johnny would say He can't be worse then Kreese right? And Daniel would just say nothing his face would say it all.
@A Cobra Kai Fan Daniel needed training, and Silver was the only one who he could turn to.
@A Cobra Kai Fan
nothing more? Silver is wealthy and Kreese was recently homeless. Silver can do a lot of damage in season 4 with all that wealth.
Silver was Danny's Kreese and more. Silver beat you in your head without ever throwing a punch by playing the long game.
He's a psychopath. Whoever played him did a good job of playing a " joker"type character
He wasn't good
Ever kicked someone in the face in the pale moonlight
@Jake Stockton and other KK fans
@@kbanghart the fans are wrong then
@@bradenmerriman5206 nope we're right. But you can also be right with your opinion.
Terry silver was the best villian in all the karate kid movies, when he returns in cobra kai it will be very awesome! Ive been wanting terry silver to return more than any other character from the karate kid series.
& it is so very really far long awhile of after every all this have been change to past moving through forth with date & years.
" He negociates evil deals in a bubble bath " LOL
I loved when Terry and Mike Barnes have that mocked fight on Miagi's property and right at the end Terry kicks him in the ass on the way out😂😂
A year later after season 4 he even rocks harder now
YOU WERE RIGHT! They bringing him back :)
SO happy right now, can't even tell you.
They were pulling inspiration from Scarface/Tony Montana, another great over the top character, with conducting business while smoking a cigar in a bubble bath.
Yup straight gangstee
Terry Silver was the first live action cartoon character.
Oh, a wiseguy!
He’s actually Baek doo San from tekken fighting game
He's real life M. Bison
It's such a dichotomy watching KK3. He's over the top and hilarious and yet you feel like he's really the only villain to have truly terrified Daniel.
I'm Here in 2022 and silver does come back in cobra Kai season 4
Great video and analysis. Terry Silver's character is a vilian you want to like for some reason.
Exactly!
Some random guy with a ponytail just went to his first audition and became Terry fuckin silver
He was a Broadway actor who also knew karate
I like Terry Silver even though he's a sociopath lol
@BPJ He's not good looking at all
@BPJ because he's handsome and cunning
Terry Silver is a monster of a man,and I cant wait for his return.
I honestly want to see his friendship with John Kreese.
"NOTHING IS FOR FREE"
This video aged like wine.. A fine wine.
Haha, thank you John!
Who's here after it was announced that Terry Silver will in fact be a part of Cobra Kai season 4?!
Kreese definitely called him in his last scene of the season. Looking forward to seeing Silver in S4 of Cobra Kai.
I said the same thing. He definitely called him.
I cannot wait it’s gonna be a master piece
its here now
He moves so gracefully and his height just helps make his karate look so great.
He looked incredible doing that kata in the mirror. So fluid and graceful
Yeah I cringe every time Daniel does karate
I think the 'curse' of the Karate Kid films' actors is to make them age well.
This video is even more refreshing after seeing season 4
I'm so glad he came back, he was amazing in season 4!
Man I LOVED this video, the way you described the Character in FULL detail, the easter eggs no one knew, the behavior patterns he has and History...
EVERYTHING about was BADASS!!
Very enjoyable!
Thank you!

What are u his mother?
@@mjrmrz5932 Maybe..

If Danny gets into legal trouble, he has his/my.... Cousin Vinnie. 🤣
They need to do this as an Easter Egg.
Cousin Vinnie vs Terry Silver, and silver should be lucky if there is no phone receiver 📞 around 😂
Na, Terry will just bribe the police, the judge and jury that he's been snorting cocaine. He'll just be a pest that have to be taken down first as a sample to Daniel that no matter how rich he is, he won't be as rich or powerful or as influential as him.
He is my favorite villan character in the karate kid saga
I pray they put him in cobra kai season 4!
Best Villain Ever!
Ken Kole was put on this earth for one reason, to analyze the karate kid and the cobra Kai series.. a national treasure to be protected at all costs.
Terry Silver really was the highlight of the Karate Kid 3 for me.
Man I thought Kreese was a badass villain, this man blows Kreese out of the water. Great character depth and analysis.
Man, how many times have we heard that “kreese is dead” in the franchise?
Twice now
As Daniel would say, Dead my ass.
Cobra kai never dies !
Yes, that got old real quick.
It’s amazing he’s back!
Terry Silver may be a hyped up cartoon bad guy but he is damn sure LOYAL to his friend Kreese.
Just had an idea: what if he doesn't care about Kreese (he was possibly going to rip him off with the percentages). What if his ego cant handle owing anyone anything so he just wants to settle the debt.
@@dmangelsm1188 the backstory says otherwise, plus both of them have a bone to pick with Daniel
Generally people like that will show tendencies in adolescence before it becomes full-blown.
just looked up Thomas' imdb. Homie is a legit fighter. Great actor
It would be interesting to know more about Sensai Kim Son Yung of Korea. Maybe the king cobra himself?
Totally agree.
pretty sure we will
who is king cobra
yh and interesting too see silver start training as it seemed like he didn't yet know karate in the flashbacks
I love Mr. Silver but this story of linking everything to the origins is comical.
LMAO I ACTUALLY THOUGHT YOU WERE WARDELL

Best part of KK3 _ where the 3 bad guys are standing around covered in paint busting a gut like they didn't all just get beaten up by a geriatric...
Thank you! Yeah I listened to that in KK1 and it did seem very fuzzy. So I figured it was safe to give Terry the honor of introducing it 😁
It's very clear they are saying it in the first movie, but no one use it in conversation before Terry in KK3, so your info is half right in my opinion, btw Silver will be in Cobra 4 season
I think it was "Cobra Kai, win or die!"
He wealthy and businessman he will has some fun with dayona in season 4. 😮
Who here after terry sliver will be back in s4 of cobra Kai
I watched this film on New Years Eve so I was a little drunk but in between me laughing at the parts that were completely over the top and ridiculous was actually a very well acted film of Silver manipulating, terrorizing and emotionally and physically diminishing Daniel to the point that I genuinely believed and understood why Daniel was so scared of him and Mike Barnes. I think the psychological warfare was well played for the most part. Very interesting to see where they take this character.
He'll try to ruin Daniel's life by trying to steal his wife. watch and see.
Yeah - his Mrs is hot 👍🏼
Damn “NTR” scenario!
Using mike barnes
I bet he has Stingray follow Daniel all the way to Okinawa and had Tom Cole convinced the board members of Doyona to switch dealership and had Stingray take photos of Daniel and Kumiko to Amanda, feeding her "the wrong idea" to the point that they're in the brink of divorce..... and Terry is just listening in the shadows......"perfect". Hell, I bet he bailed out Stingray for these types of "missions", Kreese must've told Silver all about him and how he applied as a security guard to beat up the kids in Miyagi do.
Daniel's gonna know what Netorare means
Terry was so full of himself, he didn't realize that he would have been better off actually converting Daniel.
That's not how revenge works.
@@nebularain3338 Would have been a great revenge on Miyagi, basically turning Daniel into a Robby from Cobra Kai S3 and alienating them. But they focused their revenge scheme on Daniel, oops
@@Heretic1981 Exactly. Johnny and Danny are both pretty hurt by the fact Robby is with Kreese now.
@@nebularain3338 seems like the gentlemen above covered it for me, thanks, guys!
"A man can't see he can't fight" He obviously hasn't seen Bloodsport.
My first thought too
when i hear bloodsport ost reminisce me of street fighter music
The movie "The new karate Kid" with mr Miyagi there she is also blindfolded
Yea never know when some1 has extensive training in blind folded tea partys and pulling fish out of a well
Hit it on the nail with the Silver to Miyagi dichotomy of WW2 vs Vietnam.
He did such a good job in Both Karate Kid 3 and Cobra Kai.
Was by Far my favorite character in Cobra Kai.
He rocks simply for the best line in film history! ”I LOVE IT WHEN HE POUNDS HIM!”
Well he has allegiance to Kreese as he put it! I owe u johnny, i owe u!! So the fact that hes rich dont mean squat.
Its probably more about saving money with the dumping.
He wouldn't have to pay for permits for disposal, cost for disposal, and wouldn't have to pay bribes if they just dump...
"His personality is as greasy as his ponytail."
Bet you never thought this would be the season 4 recap we would all end up needing?
Haha, no but I'm very happy that it is!
Glad i'm not the only one who was captivated by this actor. He did a really good job.
I found it interesting how you compared Kreese to Vader and Silver to Palpatine! That's pretty good analogy, I couldn't agree more.
After watching season 4 I think we can say that this video has aged very well.
He has the best smile ever.
