FYI, this is not a "listen while working" video 😅 i cant keep my eyes of it. Need to pause it and come back later. These kind of vids are why i love MinnMax!
The enthusiasm of the mustached guy really got me. I also really enjoyed Untitled Goose game and Thank Goodness You're here. Took the plunge and bought a Playdate! These guys deserve support! Thanks for the behind the scenes look, by the way
I learned a lot! Thanks MinnMax, videos like this are the best way to start to understand how the industry actually operates. Looking forward to seeing more from the Spotlight series. Now to go crank it...
This is the best kind of marketing you could hope for. Nothing could be better publicity for Panic and their products than that studio tour. The passion and care they show is something that can't be bought for money.
PlayDate is such a fascinating and creative device! Its minimalist design and the quirky crank make it a refreshing take on handheld gaming. I love how it focuses on unique indie games, offering something completely different from mainstream consoles. The weekly game drops add a layer of excitement, making the experience feel fresh every time. Definitely a must-have for those who appreciate innovative and nostalgic gaming!
just had to stop about 4 minutes in to say the moustachioed man is the most delightful human being. I've been holding off on a Playdate but I might have to take the jump!
I love that "do you mind if we put these mics on you?" made the edit. Like we were going to riot about the possibility of someone having sneaked the mics onto the gang and needed proof otherwise lol. Great vid! That was a fun watch.
This was such a cool behind the scenes look. I’ve been wanting a Playdate for a while now. But watching this makes me want it more. They’re also such a cool publisher. I loved Thank Goodness You’re Here from this year. Looking forward to Arco.
I saw the title and thought "nah I can skip this one" and boy was I wrong. This was incredible, what a fun group of people, great production, all of it. More please, thank you :)
I appreciate you named this like a series... but how ya gonna match this 10/10 episode!?!?!? Killer feature, the perfect pick for a tour, the perfect guy to interview 🎉
haha so they still drink Stiegl Radler in Portland, like almost ten years ago and for reasons that elude me. Austria (the brewery at least) says thank you!
I've always thought the Playdate was a super hipster device, $200 bucks for mostly minigames. But learning about the team now I understand it much more.
Man I really want a Playdate but I know I am a minority but I have an eye condition and a lack of backlight makes it pretty much impossible for me to play. Hopefully things get cheaper for getting the parts so they can consider a backlight.

are there codes for Nintendo Switch?
I don't think I've ever wanted to work for a company more. What a delightful team.

Thanks so much, high compliments! Tell a friend, please.
Literally just had the same thought. Paused it for later watching :)

That's the goal! Any help sharing this online is appreciated.
Great behind the scenes! That McDonald’s break room absolutely slaps.
Thanks so much for watching, Ben! Any help sharing online is great.

Cabel seems like such a nice and fun person. I'm just 8 minutes into the video and I love his energy.
41:11 cool to see Metal Jesus hanging out with y'all. I actually first saw Kelsey on his channel and was stoked when she started working with Minnmax
as a mac guy who uses panic software and a gamer, thank you so much for this interview. Cabel's excitement is awesome!
Would love to see you guys get to spotlight more developers like this, but I assume most aren't as transparent as Panic.
Great video THANK YOU for the stereo dock update

Super interesting behind the scenes look at Panic. Thanks MinnMax!
Glad you enjoyed it, Stone!
This makes me feel so much joy. Infectious enthusiasm. What a cool company!
"Thank you for fostering such a positive community!" Yes, that about sums it up.
This is awesome content. I hope y'all keep doing unique travelogue / interview series like this!
Thanks so much, Bear!

I always like the Ben plus Kelsey combo travel vlogs.
These travel logs are always so sweet and positive.
PS: those rocks you were talking about are called columnar basalt. It's a volcanic rock formation.
thank you! I love learning about a cool rock
The massive bag of pulparindo candy at 1:50 sent me straight to Panic's jobs page.
What a rad office, I love my Play Date, thanks for sharing!
It hurts my heart to see the disparity between how awesome of content you make and how many people see it. You deserve so many more views!
Well thanks, Andrew. Any help sharing is appreciated!
wow. this is super cool and totally unexpected. anything about the playdate is interesting. nice!
Thanks! Any help sharing is appreciated.
ayyy Underblood made the edit at 42:28! That meetup was a blast
This was so great folks, I had a smile on my face the whole time! I'm about to jump back up some tiers to watch 7 more hours of it 👍
Latourell Falls! I went there a few years ago and it was really beautiful.
This gets my vote for best video with the worst title of 2024.
I love that "do you mind if we put these mics on you?" made the edit. Like we were going to riot about the possibility of someone having sneaked the mics onto the gang and needed proof otherwise lol. Great vid! That was a fun watch.
A wonderful look into a company I didn't know by name but knew by work they have done. I look forward to more spotlights like this as well!
THIS is why I have an annual patreon sub. Seriously debating buying a playdate again.... Thank you for the awesome content!
Thanks so much!
I love Playdate!! Thanks for this video.

Thanks for watching. Soooo, what's a better title?
@@minnmax Playdate: ReFantazio.
Panic CEO DESTROYS Stomach Using SMORES and RAMEN
This is cool. Great job guys. I have a weird urge to watch arrested development.
I had no idea their history. Wow!
Absolutely loved it, looking forward to more Spotlights in the future! 🤞
I wasnt gonna watch this, but i put it on, on a whim. This is really great! I should watch more of these lmao
I didn't expect this to be so delightful when I got around to watching it
We aim to delight, glad you watched it.
This was such a great watch, super interesting. Look forward to more of these
Hey, thanks so much for watching! Any help sharing online is appreciated.
Love these kinds of videos! Has me interested in grabbing a playdate now 😅
Wonderful look behind the scenes at Panic. Never would have guessed they sent an actual Famicom disk to colour match!
Really liked the questions you've asked about the playdate being profitable and how the company deals with that, plus its objectives
Those archives!! This is super cool to see
Great video! Look forward to more in the future.
I had no idea Panic was a local Portland, OR company! I'm definitely getting a Playdate now!
This is really great. Love the format.
I also really wanted to touch those plastic samples, Kelsey
I knew at least one other person would understand
I've always been curious about the playdate. I would love to try that crank! What a cool company!
I love my Playdate! Still use it often
26:18 I really hope the stereo dock will be a thing :)
I appreciate you named this like a series... but how ya gonna match this 10/10 episode!?!?!? Killer feature, the perfect pick for a tour, the perfect guy to interview 🎉
Of course they have a cool office 🙌
I feel like I keep hearing Joe Juba 😂
haha so they still drink Stiegl Radler in Portland, like almost ten years ago and for reasons that elude me. Austria (the brewery at least) says thank you!
So, so good!
I loved this! Did Kelsey buy anything cool when she was shopping around?
Panic seems like a company of adults who never learned to limit their sugar intake and I am totally here for it.l
All those Panic folks seem like real sweeties.
I've always thought the Playdate was a super hipster device, $200 bucks for mostly minigames. But learning about the team now I understand it much more.
i love panic so much
love them
hoping anddreaming for the stereo dock and poolsuite app someday
How cool
Hell yea
How does Ben feel about meeting someone with the same laugh as him?
I want a playdate so bad now
This is the most Portland company ever lol
Is Nevan just Suriel Vasquez from the future?
Man I really want a Playdate but I know I am a minority but I have an eye condition and a lack of backlight makes it pretty much impossible for me to play. Hopefully things get cheaper for getting the parts so they can consider a backlight.
The screen cannot be backlit due to the type of LCD technology used, but can be front/side lit.
