Honestly the most fun I had was wandering around Tokyo at 2am drinking hot Boss coffee (the rainbow can was my fave) and going to 24 hour ramen shops. I really miss the hot drink machines from my time in Japan. There's something special about grabbing a hot coffee or cocoa to warm up your hands while out and about on a cold winter day.
Of course, the food I miss most is ramen from a tiny place next to my train stop. One of those hole-in-the-wall places that are easy to miss, but I'm glad I tried it one time. Not a big menu or anything, just amazing ramen (typically got it with chashu or these thin triangles of slightly sweet, fried tofu) for cheap.

@@666Shinedown I've never seen one on the streets in the US (as opposed to in mall food courts and large office buildings, where I have occasionally seen hot drinks), but the largest city I've spent much time in is about 450K and fairly spread out. I imagine they may be more common in some denser city centers and places designed to encourage foot traffic, while the lower density areas discourage pedestrian traffic in general. In Japan where most areas are very densely populated, things are set up assuming lots of people will be walking, so the vending machines on the streets get plenty of business that they just wouldn't over here. It's a very different style of life; can't say whether it's better or worse since it has its downsides as well, but I do miss some things about it.

Dude the food from convenience stores in japan like 7-11 and Lawson is freaking delicious, oh they have hot food bars near the counter and the fried chicken there is hella good, problem is you typically don't stay in japan long enough to try all the food in the convenience stores since you'll eat out at restuarants too. Also food from different stores, area , and chains are all different apart from the staples so you can go to two store a block apart and find different things/specials. They're very big on variety over there. I've known colleagues who got transfered to a japan office for a month or two and they live of conbini store foods since its generally dirt cheap and better than what they could ever cook themselves.

They are around the U.S and I know they might not exist in Canada but I'm fairly certain some are built there or at least the patent/inventor of the early versions was from Canada. Might be wrong but as someone else said I've seen them in some warehouse lunch rooms, some companies buy the cafeteria from the warehouse/factory and will either use these style of vending machines or use a more low tech version.
Not a great experience like what I see in Japan sadly, in the U.S if you have that sort of setup they also buy the rights of refrigerators, microwaves, and the warehouse/factory will also place bans on eating in the parking lot, locker room (locker room makes sense tbh) and forbid storing food in the warehouse itself. Some have "tried" to get people from also storing things in their car but that one is a bit harder to pull off.
Kinda just forcing you to either drive away to buy food or to use the vending machine, and man I'll tell you if you ever had gas station food it's basically the same quality. Japan really does get the cool shit.

      That would be fun!
On a related note, I sincerely trust Dancing Bacons opinions though...even though we can't see her face or hear her voice. When her caption's state "Its good" or "the fries are not crispy enough" I just believe her....lol

No, I believe it’s around his neck, because compared to where the food is, it’s higher (the food) then the camera, meaning it can’t be above, but below, and assuming that, and when he starts to eat, it’s probably around the neck.
