Google's calendar widget seriously needs to be updated. I don't want the full calendar widget to take up most of the screen.

Also the Google drive widget is actually awesome! I should've been using that considering how often I'm pulling and uploading files. (Keep is cool too but I keep the app itself on my first home screen.)

I really luv Keep it's just brilliant for notes of any kind!
Since you guys are doing a video for widgets I just remembered something else adjacent to this you could do a video about.
You should also discuss the different shortcuts you can add in the notification shade. I have a quick remote toggle for Google TV in the notification shade as well as one for quick toggling VPNs.

I use Calendar & battery widget on my Pixel 6a.
And the default At a Glance.
The calendar though takes too much space.

I can't place the at a glance widget at rhe top of rhe home screen. There's already one there that cant be moved. Pixel 8 pro.
At a glance is cool when it works, the Lyft feature was nice but hasn't worked once since I upgraded to the 8 from my 6a. It's functionality with certain things seems completely random and is never consistent unless it's alarms and stuff like that.
How do you customise the google maps widget? My options say "Home, Work, Resturants, Clothing" but yours say "Home, Parks, Resturants, Petrol"??

The At a Glace widget works perfectly like on a pixel phone on both my Samsung and my Xiaomi.

I have never seen these google widgets. Interesting. I like some, but the only disadvantage I think is that the widsgetsc don't resize well. I wish all widgets dynamically resised an rewrap trkst accordingly to functionally fit the chosen widget size, from small to medium to large. Currently if I pin google widgets, they take quite some space, ate difficult to make a clean and comprhensive design of widgets on a page, often needing several pages, which makes the homescreen look and navigate chaotically. I understand function over form, but it would ne nice of there was more attention of function fitting form, too. I haven't seen a meaningful change on this front over the last years with material design. In that regard third party apps sometimes have great alternatives. I think the 4 most used android widgets for me are a kwgt date widget. Msft email widget, msft to do widget and whatsapp widget.

I use Keep and all it's widgets all the time.
On my iPhone I use Google search bar, it is amazing and have fewer problems than Siri
The biggest issue with at a glance is it won't show whats upcoming. And I don't use pixel accessories, so for me its pretty useless at the moment. And not being able to remove it from my pixel phone is frustrating. And google calendar needs more and better looking widgets.

Can chromeOS add widgets?
i use android 13 oppo f19 and i cant use all the widgets 😢 bcz their is a bug in the software and the widgets don't appear as they should They overlap or get wayyy too small or too big. The colors malfunction and just so much more I can't explain it but its really sad. Widgets were the reason i was excited for android 12 but when it came it wasn't what i expected

Battery widget the most on my pixel 7 and iphone 15
Apples calendar app hasn’t been updated since it came out on the first iPhone… the calendar widget is better than the app lol
I use the weather widget and Nord VPN widget.
The only google widget I use is the Google calander widget.

I'll add Samsung Email (which isn't available on other phones) is the best email and the widget is brilliant compared to Xiaomi's effort 4x4 'grey' 🤦♂️..
Your time stamps does not match with the video. There is no time stamp of fitbit or google health but is rather synced with google TV. Time stamp meant for honorable mention takes us to google TV.

9:50 - I like the Samsung battery widget better. It shows a small circle graph for each device connected, with a picture of the device inside the circle.
Each device's icon only takes up 1 "icon" space on the home screen, instead of a huge bar-graph area like the Pixel.
You can turn At a glance off though.
On pixel? No you can't
Well, you can't turn off in the sense that: the persistent widget goes away.
What you're turning off is it's ability to show you more info than simply the date.
After "turning it off" in the pixel launcher settings, the widget itself will still be on the first home page but will now be extremely dumb.

Apple doesn’t even have a messenger widget of any kind for the Home Screen. Apple is still coming out with widgets and Lock Screen widgets that android has already had for years! lol. I love look and design of Apples iPhones more as well as their cameras. However apples iOS sucks!!!
