    Watched this, thought I’d give it a go. Set up my pole and feeder rod with this dink dink, although after a slip and broken pole section, went all out on the feeder rod and bloody hell! Over 20Lb of roach and dace in a few hours. Great video, well explained and the rig, which was completely new to me, produced an amazing result! Nice one.

    I was just about to start typing 2 inch hooklength for those missed bites, but you did it anyway. Good tutorial Rikki, had a 20 year break from fishing. It's a method I've used quite often, also works well in deep stillwaters

    Tried last week on big river in Poland. Great old method, underrated. Lots of fish, moreover- great fun:) I've used 0,21 rig line, next time I'll use 0,23.

    Well demonstrated Rikki. A very underused method. A great method when you're pegs solid.

    In some cases this rig its better if you fish just front of you ,not like u did downstream. In case you fish downstream its not bad to leave small bow on the line.As well in most of situation its better slightly shorter hooklength. About 2" max.This rig have no need for strike at all. Fish most of the time take the bait straight away and run with a feeder .Its great method for catching barbel and chub as well.
    Perfect rig for using liquidised bread
    and open feeder with a bread crust on a hook.I had lots of success catching barbel,chub,bream and common nase with this method.
    Rig can be used on a still water to,and can be made to as pop up. Especially is good on still water for crucian carp
    Any way nice video mate and demonstration.

    Great session Rikki. The first time I've seen the sink dink explained well. The spinning dace problem seems to be only problem with the method. Thinking about it the method looks a bit like the speci hunters helicopter rig. They incorporate a swivel trapped between two float stops to which they attach the short stiff hook length. I wonder if that could be adapted so the hook length could rotate. Might solve the dace problem.
    I might have a go with the two set ups see which works better.
    As always great to see local anglers on local venues. Regards
    Russell Jones

      Russell Jones thanks mate. Glad you liked the video. Spinning face is just a problem we have to live with and I think you just have to be aggressive and wind them in without trying to play them.

    Looks like a good method to apply on the Thames at the moment. Cheers

    Use that a lot on the big Lochs up north, but with two hooks. Great on the right day.

      How far north, Lancs at a guess. Can't use 2 hooks in Yorkshire

    the longer the feeder link (yours is 6 inches!), the poorer the self-hooking properties. The same logic as with paternoster rig. Am I wrong?

    • @matchfishingmasterclass1247
      @matchfishingmasterclass1247  6 лет назад

      the flow off the river plus gravity pulls the bait out of the holes on the feeder mat. thanks

      @69cookieboy1 6 лет назад +1

      C&R Fishing masterclass I kinda get that but in some cases the feeder is in literally seconds. My feeders wouldn’t empty this quick ... are the holes opened up ?

  • @thecasualfront7432
    @thecasualfront7432 5 лет назад +1

    He’s fishing straight through. If a fish breaks him off it’ll be attached to the feeder. It’s not on it’s an amateurs rig.
