I set all my shox up the same way lol. that's a great scale truck and i love how you think not only about scale accessories but scale movement as well. trucks gotta look scale while in movement.
Thanks! I've done a few truck videos on the trail and sometimes they get bouncy and odd looking. I like the smoother tighter shocks, seems to look better with a heavier oil and slower motion control. Plus they are way more predictable to drive on slow terrain and rock crawling.
This a really nice build. I owned an 80 series for nearly 10 years so would love to build one. Looking forward to some run vids when you get it on the road :-)
Sweet video, I'm following along the build series to try to improve my class 1 XJ build. Could you post a link or description for the internal springs you used? Thanks
What would be nice is wheels that look scale. Though the stance and stuff looks good on this and many other trucks, the weels are just ridiculous :P Been wondering if the wheels and tyres for the Tamiya 1.7 semi trucks would look OK on a scale truck? Something like the Mickey Thompson 1.7" Baja they have at RC4WD for example. Or other less agressive threads.
I'm waiting to get my hands on the new 4.05 Pitbull Alien AT tire for this truck, Nice size, narrow, and good looking stock/trail sort of treads. Right on!
Sorry Google English. I have the same vehicle. Why do your wheels fit into the body? Mine stick out 6-8mm per side (depending on which tire). The rims have 0 offset. I am considering narrowing the axes. Did you have an easier solution? Greeting
Hi Guys, just saw this clip and was amused that somebody fiound a solution for my sorrow regarding a propper scale shock set up. So I did the same on my rig but there is something I'm not pretty sure if this is normal. In fact when I mount my front shocks ( these are the same like yours cause its the same model) the axle stabilizer in the front touches the front gear housing and blockes the pitch of spring?? how did you solve this?? thank you in advanced for a short feedback ....and sorry for my bad Englich, I'm a Swiss :-)
That body rocks. I'm a Toyota guy all the way.
Totally with you on the wheels not jacked up!
Nice. Good to see a real Scale build.

Really liking the look and the stance.
Thanks!

Thanks! I wish I had the full size unit!
I like your setup and your opinion of scale rigs.
What's this Ultimate Scale Truck Expo that flashes at the end? When, where, who, what? Exciting stuff!!
Yes! Facebook Ultimate Scale Truck Expo, or eventbrite.com for info and tickets!! Everyone MUST go!

what's the wheel base you used for this build? Thanks! Very nice!
313mm wheelbase on this one.
@@GCMRacing1 Thank you!
You do know a 80 series land cruiser has more travel than that? The tires tuck

Very nice Tiny Truck. Love it. Are those 1.9ers? Sorry if it's sayd' in the vid but i can't hear it on this copmuter. No speakers at work :-)
they are 1.55 growlers
If you're meaning the wheels, he said they are 1.55s bud :)
So what shocks did you install. I have the same body and in the process of building.
Looks good! How far does the back of the body stick out past the back of the frame?
almost 3 inches
looking at getting this body for my scx10, but rather than go with 4 links, would leaf springs do the same with the 90mm shocks?
Leafs can do the same as links if you have the proper geometry for shocks etc. It's a math game, but it can be done yes.
Could you post the colors you used, I’m looking to get the paint code specifically.
This was a forest green can of krylon. That's all I know...

GCM rims have a tight offset, and do not stick outside the wheel axle.
