Great video! A major painting project and very interesting to see all the processes in one video. I recently completed a trailer build and it took way more paint than I expected! I'll know next time to order double what I think I need!😄
Thank you very much! Yes, it was not fast! But I made a lot of mistakes, but this is experience! I'll try not to commit them on the next project! Glad to see you here always!
Thank you very much for your support my friend! Now is not a very easy time! I returned to my house and here I will be able to shoot a ride much less and less often than before. But I will shoot buildings and maybe something else.
That was a detailed painting project! I always find I use far more paint than I planned. The Land Cruiser is a big body so I expect the spray cans do not last long. I have a similar big paint project soon as I am building the Cross-RC PG4A and the body is very large. My main concern is whether the masking tape will damage the fresh paint surface when doing multiple colours. I know you really need to let the paint harden for a good time period. Did you find the masking tape damaged the paint surface in any way on your body?
I used special tape and it works great, but it's best to let it dry for 1 day. Yes, I damaged the paint when I applied the tape after a few hours. After this error, I waited 1 day. I just didn't plan on painting the whole car that color.
@@KobtsevRC I suppose at least with a hard body you have an opportunity to make corrections. When I painted my last polycarbonate body there were a few imperfections but I just had to leave them.
Hello, I'm planning to paint an Isuzu mu. By the way, when you put masking tape over the paint, how long should you let it dry after applying the first coat of paint? Also, is it better to remove the masking tape as soon as possible so as not to damage the paint underneath? Sorry for asking so many questions.
This came out beautifully. Can I ask a question? So im trying to paint my hard body but everytime i use the tamiya masking tape to make the lines so I can paint the other side a different color when I take the tape off it leaves a streak of residue that makes me have to start all over and sand it and paint again but all I will be doing is going is circles. My question is if I leave the residue will this clear coat cover it and make is vanish? Or do you have a suggestion to get rid of the residue? Before you suggest some products I did some researching and I tried Wd40, Water, Goo Gone and using more tape to stick it and bring it up but none of these work. Thanks for any help!
Are you sure you're using Tamiya tape? How long do you wait after painting before applying Tamiya tape? My tape leaves no trace. The only problem I had was when I didn't wait for the right time and put Tamiya tape on the fresh paint. Then yes I'm having problems. The best option is to apply primer, wait a few hours 2-4, then apply paint and wait a day. Then apply the tape and apply a different color of paint. Wait a day to remove the tape. If you have any questions write Did you use soil?
@@KobtsevRC Yes im using tamiya tape im doing different color stripes the ivan stewart toyota stripes to be exact. I guess ill wait each day to do a stripe. What is soil?
@@KobtsevRC Oh yes I use tamiya primer. Ill just start over and wait 24 hrs on each paint and see how it comes out. Thanks for responding and the tips!
