Great work and detailed review! I have an EAZY RC Triton 1:18 which basically looks the same, can i also mount some of these shocks? Which one do you recommend if you just want to get rid off the OEM shocks an want better performance and looks? Also easy availability in germany would be great ;) Thanks!

Thank you. I always use the 1/18 Indiana Jones, Men in Black and Starwars action figures. You get those for super cheap on Ebay.com (and also on Aliexpress, ... on Amazon they are expensive)
You will need one of those "balls with 2 mm hole" inside or use shrink tube or something similar to mount the link to the 2 mm screw, too. There are several new shocks out now, for FMS FCX24 and Hobby Plus CR-18P, which will fit and come with this "ball".
I am still just going through this and other videos of yours - but just a quick question if I may - could one use the Traxxas TRX-4m shocks too? As that would be probably the simplest way today. Thank you for this detailed video.
TRX-4M shocks have different length. But with a bit of tinkering (mounting on lower end - this "double ball screw" of FMS and Hobby Plus trucks is tricky) you could probably use them. But meanwhile there are upgrade shocks for FMS/RocHobby/EazyRC out, and also shocks for the FCX24 will fit.
@@donaldsneffe thank you. You mean there are oil shocks for/from FMS, or standard FMS shock that then cam be rebuilt to be used with oil as you described?
@@matusknives Both. There are oil shocks for FMS/RocHobby/EazyRC (and Hobby Plus) available meanwhile. Hello, great video! Very informative, it has been challenging to find info on third party shocks for my Katana. I was wondering how do you remove the shocks and link off the double ball joint screw? I'm a little afraid to use pliers and twist it like normal ball joints because the plastic link seems specially weak, any tips are appreciated as this is my first venture into rc mods. Thanks in advanced!
Only force helps ;-) - fingers, finger nails, or the two halfs of a forceps in combination with fingers. I also use ball link pliers - but probably you do not have such a tool (normally needed for helis).
@@weekendrc Yes, they have all the same way of shock mounting (RocHobby, FMS, EazyRC 1/18, 1/24, and Hobby Plus 1/18 and 1/24, and the rebranded Amewi and FTX Hobby Plus trucks.
