The Mysterons are a race of disembodied aliens, enemies of Earth, in the UK animated series, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, in case you wanted to know.

Really a band that I need to take a deeper dive into. Some magnificent sounds in this song.

First two albums are amazing. Third release was this live concert of hits from the first two albums.

Their proper third studio album is more experimental, but also fantastic.

It's Trip-Hop, but Portishead put their own cinematic slant on it. It was part of the Bristol scene that they were part of along with Massive Attack and Tricky in the 90s

    Nice reaction, guys.
Pro tip: If you do any further viewings of this show, search for "Portishead Roseland New York 1998 - Remastered using Artificial Intelligence". You'll get WAY clearer picture and audio. The original uploads are very rough. You'll find the track start times in the comment section.

Dummy is always right at the top of my top CD rack (sorry but i gave up on vinyl in the 80s, for all the obvious reasons and after putting up with the ever-diminishing returns of vinyl up until that point. The main reason being that i like to play my music, forever, and not just put it on my wall then listen to it on spot the fly. if CD is a better, more durable, smaller, easier to store format why the sudden rush on vinyl? oh yeah, it looks good on your wall. But i digest). Of my, can't be bothered counting how many CD racks, my least respected is obviously my compilation/best of rack, (except for the Carpenters - yeah say what you like. My taste is eclectic ok). But rack 'one' has had Dummy, (the same copy i bought in '94 btw vinyl guys, i even comb my hair in it sometimes, try that with vinyl - i rest my case!). In the same rack are fad gadget - fireside favourites and under the flag,
Massive Attack with blue lines (still unscathed and like a mirror with this magic think called skip, shuffle, program etc) and Mezzanine, Pixies - surfer rosa and doolittle (i passed on bosanova), all of nirvana, incuding the MTV unplugged, which i consider a stsnd alone album, siouxsie and the banshees kaleidoscope and juju, a bunch of aphex twin and autrchre, led zeppelin IV, the bends (and nothing else by radiohead after they bought into their own hype and disappeared up their own arses (with a few rare but brilliant exceptions), some protomartyr, all of joy division (well all 2), all the good Beatles records from rubber soul on, some half man half biscuit, rage against the machine (which hasn't been played since they went all 'trust the science if you want to see our shows' - nah I'll pass thanks, when they stopped raging against that machine i guess, so that may find its way into rack 2, or even 3 very soon), Small faces - Ogden's, and a bunch more kinda nostalgic or personal stuff. But out of more CDs than i could ever be bothered counting Dummy has been in top slot for 30 years now (oh those times when me and my old squeeze and first long-term girlfriend Danielle would just smoke this stuff and chill to this. It sure made getting outa bed a lot harder of a Sunday morning). But if you're out there Danielle, still love you even though I haven't once laid eyes on you once since 99, so I'm guessing you moved out of the city cause 25 years is a long time without a single glimpse of someone who only lived a mile away before we moved in together. I just hope you're well and all your dreams came true. An odd fact as well, i still sometimes dream of you, yet in 23 years I've never had a single dream about the wife and mother of my kids. Unless you turned into a succubus! Essay aside, great album. A must-buy. Every CD on my rack one also has to be an original issue from the time. Just being a re-edition is enough to not make the top rack, and there's only 50 slots on it so i guess i can afford to be picky. I don't have any on my walls though.

Sorry to be that guy, but yes, Beth does still sound amazing! Last heard on Kendrick Lamar's latest album on the track 'Mother I sober'.
Check out Portishead's cover of 'SOS' by ABBA, it's mind bending.
