Just a quick follow-up. Received my Turtle today. Better than the vids or pics. The Blue dial is the best one Ive seen period. The gunmetal bezel and crown are a perfect match and look great. I have owned many Seiko's this is best looking one, nothing comes close. Shoutout to Mimo's, great service and super fast 2 day shipping.They picked out the best aligned Turtle and sent a pic to me proir to shipping. Its perfectly aligned. If you want one just order from Mimo's you wont be disappointed. 🐢
I just picked this up 2nd hand. Absolutely electric dial. It's beautiful. I didn't even notice the 2 tone insert until you mentioned it. I got the Made In Japan also. In my opinion, the dial is like looking at a cross section of the ocean, brighter on top, and getting darker and blacker as you go deeper.
The different shades of blue and those IRREGULAR lines going across the face, are what really do it. Lots of contrast. Gives it a ton of character. Cudos to Seiko for keeping it a liitle imperfect like that. I could never tire of wearing that. Definately a daily driver ;)
I love the dark and light blue Hughes. I love the whole deep ocean theme. The dial switching from blue for dark blue is such a nice touch. Seiko knocked it outta the park I could see this particular model increasing in value far ahead
I agree about the Turtle case. I've had my PADI Turtle for about 3 weeks and it's great, very comfortable. I may try one of the new silicone straps on it. The dial on this "Save the Ocean" Turtle is beautiful.

I too am a bracelet guy through and through but I would have to admit that turtle looks great on that black silicon strap . I just purchased one on that black silicon strap and it will be my first and probably only non-bracelet watch

I've now had to return two of the SRPC91, to AD's in the UK. The first one had alignment issues so sent back. Then got another one from a different AD, alignment looked great but the bezel was bi-directional and there was a mark on the inner ring at the 32 position so again returned. Very frustrating and no longer considering getting the watch but it looks stunning.
i would have like to get this but in italy there is not, only this version but with a dark steel case and bracelet. so i had to pick the basic total black one
Great video that shows how nice it would look in real life. I'm a bit torn between this version, which looks gorgeous and jewel-like, and the standard black version or Pepsi version which look more vintage.
the metal outline of the indices in different to standard turtle. Looks nice. Wonder if they are actual stainless edging that are applied, or pressed through from the back like the sk5 replacements for skx007 are apparently

Hi Random Rob! Really appreciate your reviews! I have a question: Seikos are notorious(not all of them of course) for having quality control issues. Let's say, the hour markers are misaligned(that bugs me a lot) to the chapter ring. Is there a way to fix that by just opening the watch and slightly moving the movement? If not, what is the fix in this case? Thanks!
Great dial! Hate the black on the bezel. No reason to do the bezel (and crown) in black. Th blue ocean dial is the star of the show and tacking on black bits is not needed. The bright shade of blue puts me reminds me of the Tudor Pelagos blue. (Love the turtle case - I got the SRPA21 PAID Turtle - but I find the bezel slippery - needs plain tool-like cuts instead of the shiny christmas ornament looking silver. )

Me too. That blue is amazing ! Chapter ring and bezel all good. Runs +2 sec. a day. I am very happy with this Blue Whale Save the Ocean.

Seiko makes so many watches, they seem to be comprising QC. I still like most Seiko but find myself gravitating toward great micro that have good QC.
If only u had bought the equivalent; Made In Japan with higher quality control, export model known for these problems.

Does the black on the edge of the bezel and winder scratch? That’s my only concern with this watch being that it won’t age well.

Think I prefer the Samurai...
