    The Seiko samurai looks chiseled, tough & angular. While the turtle looks like it was designed after a bloated, fat guy's beer gut. Samurai 4 the win! ⌚ 💡 ⌚ 💡

    I like how the grooves aren't even or a straight line, but uneven like the ocean. I like the turtle more so, and the mixture of blue and black is stunning. Very nice tone in both dials. Love the cause behind the line.

    Great Job on Capturing the Dials on Video! I love My STO Samurai and as You said it's very Distracting it's so Beautiful. Don't think I'll ever get tired of looking at the Dial on this Piece.

    The gunmetal bezel and crown make it look like a proper tool watch.

    Great watches and greater cause. Curious and slightly ironic however, because Japan is one of the few nations left that sanction mass whale hunting under the guise of 'scientific research' and the first that jumps to mind in regards to whaling, but props to seiko for standing up for a good cause. Great video as usual Bruce!

    Hi Bruce, great review! I had to buy the Turtle and your “BRUCE35” discount worked perfectly! I called Mimo’s and they were very nice and helpful. My Turtle on Wednesday, only 3 days for shipping. Thanks for the hook up Bruce! 👍

    I like my blue-dial watches as vibrant as possible and these two new Seikos do that very nicely. Of the two, I think I prefer the Samurai better because the PVD coated crown and bezel are not quite as aesthetically jarring as on the Turtle. I had a Blue Lagoon edition of the Samurai and flipped it because I could never find a good rubber or nylon strap to match the three different shades of blue (dark, medium, and sky blue). I think the Save the Ocean color palette is a little more cohesive and more interesting, at least to my eye. The Samurai bracelet is a pretty good one and I would probably wear it that way. Thanks for the excellent comparison, Bruce!

    Beautiful watches Bruce but I'm afraid I'm done with Seiko. I bought my turtle reissue a year and a half ago and have worn it maybe 90 days during that time. Initially it was gaining 3-4 sec/day and now it is losing 35-45 sec/day. The same 4R36 movement I had in the 2 second gen orange monsters I had deteriorated the same way. I sold the monsters but I really like this turtle. This morning I called Seiko USA in NJ as the turtle is still under warranty and I was told losing 45 sec a day and a beat error of 2.5 is in acceptable range for Seiko automatics. I was told I could send it in for adjustment but that would not be covered under the 3 year US warranty and it would cost me $245 for the service plus shipping. To say I am disappointed with Seiko is an understatement. Citizen bends over backwards on their warranty work and this is the complete opposite. A watch's primary function is to tell time with reasonable accuracy and Seiko's standards and customer service really stink.

    • @BruceWilliams
      @BruceWilliams  6 лет назад +4

      Ugh that is awful. You could probably get an entirely new movement for less that.I hear if the watch gets a big shock sometimes the hairspring can get jacked and jump out of the regulating pin and begin sporadic timekeeping. Just something to do with the type of regulator used in some of the generations of 4rs. Hope your able to get yours resolved locally for far cheaper!

    • @mikev3245
      @mikev3245 6 лет назад +5

      The thing is I baby my watches and there isn't a mark on the turtle or the 2 monsters before it. The deterioration is a gradual thing resulting in it losing more and more time. Three watches in a row with the 4R36 movement can't be coincidence and I have to believe there is an issue with this movement and I would think other people have experienced the same thing.

    Choosing between this turtle and the black dial at a dealer was one of the hardest dilemmas I've ever faced. Left the dealer with the black dial turtle and a pinch of regret due to how beautiful the blue one looked in person, but I'm nonetheless very happy with my choice. The turtle is an amazing watch in so many aspects

    • @highflying19
      @highflying19 6 лет назад +1

      Sean S Looks for the most part, after seeing the Samurai in person i think its a bit chunky for my liking, and i think the bezel stands out more on the turtle as well. The strap on the turtle is super comfy and looks good in tbis watch as well. i dont even have a urge to buy a after market strap i like it so much.

    Beautiful dials and watches. My only dislike is the crown. To me, seems weird Seiko went with black instead of stainless. Maybe to match the bezel? Doesn't work IMO.

    Hi bruce you’re my favorite watch analyst haha can you also review about tissot watches particularly this one t021.414.26.051.00, I already have three seiko watches because of you I’m planning to buy a tissot but not after hearing an honest feedback from you

    • @BruceWilliams
      @BruceWilliams  6 лет назад +1

      Hey Ian, appreciate that. I just looked up the Tissot reference. Personally I've only tried one watch with a Valjoux 7750 base caliber, and it was fantastic. Its a very beefy and well made automatic chrono. It will have the '7750 rotor wobble' as it is a unidirectional winding movement. But I like it. They have the ability to be regulated to tight tolerances and have a reasonable service cost as far as chronos go. I saw the Tissot you like has one of the lowest total costs for a watch housing a 7750. So I say if you like the watch give it a shot the specs look good for the cost for sure

    • @BruceWilliams
      @BruceWilliams  6 лет назад

      Nah the crown fortunately is perfectly centered. Might have just been the angle, its a long crown as far as Seiko go. The turtle however had a slightly misaligned chapter ring

    • @TheTimLara
      @TheTimLara 6 лет назад +1

      It's likely just the camera angle. I have this exact watch, purchased from Mimo, and everything is aligned perfectly on mine. I have actually heard that the QC has improved on this release so far.
