I've seen so many videos like this but yours was different and gave me some good pointers. My ocd was wasn't kicking in until you glued the 3 together and the one was crooked lol. No biggie, nice work.
Well done! You are interested in making a battery pack, but I always feel that there is one important part missing (Battery Holders/Spacer Separator), I suggest you add it more safely.

Junior Santos Eu carrego com 12 volts, com uma fonte de computador que tem nos 12v, 40amperes.
Automaticamente, já carrega o Peck todo que tem 30 baterias de 4,2v x 3,2 amperes.
É fiz saídas de: 4,2v , 8,4v e 12,6v.

assembled mine yesterday. charged up while measuring it. stop at 12.6V, but when i placed a load on it it didn't stop at 11.1V so suspended test at 10.9V. does this board prevent over discharge? HX-3S-FL25A
Why we have two cable in last? One of them is balance card during charging ? The other is goes to device to use
Can I use aluminum strips instead of nickel strips? And can I use knit welding instead of tin? Another question, could you use a manual fixed controller instead of bms?

Fast way to lock up your cell groups is use platic soda bottle sides for shrink wrap.
Foam rings work ok but use the reinforced paper 3 hole rings and double them up.
I use same method (coke bottle) to shrink wrap my batteries
PSA for many commenters: just because a BMS runs wires to every cell in series *doesn't* mean it is balance charging. You need confirmation that your board has this feature.
hes not using the bms for charging but has seperate cables for bms charging..he has batteries setup in paralel yes the paralel will charge balanced but the individual batteries maybe wont but as long as they are same cap and resistance it should be fine

If you look closer to that BMS you will observe those three large SMD resistors! That is your confirmation of balancing!

Worse soldering job ever. Turn the heat down, you're vaporizing the solder before it has a chance to melt. Second, you're making nothing but cold welds that will crack right off. You heat up the surface of what you're soldering, not the solder. Let the solder flow into the hole in the center, not dropping it in there. This is like watching the blind lead the blind in what NOT to do when soldering. The way you melted the solder on the xt60 connector was the only correct joint. Heat the pad and then the capillary method of action wicks the solder onto the connector.

I dont think that BMS has any charging algorithms for constant current then constant voltage so you're not getting a proper charge or best cell life. That thing just lets you dump in power until 12.6v

Thanks for the great informational videos, I have a situation and not sure what to make of it. I have a 4s10p 18650 battery pack with 16.8 voltage and a 4s 30amp BMS. I connected a 12v 450watt power inverter to it by means of a 300 watt 20A stepdown buck converter. The output voltage is at 12.6 CV. I then tested it out with 4 loads equalling 5 Amps and 40 watts which were all led lights. At first everything was working perfect, but after about an hour I noticed one of my pack fuses was getting red hot. And when I powered down the inverter it stopped getting hot. any help or suggestion would be great. Thanks

how long does it take to charge the whole bank if you were to not have it continuously hooked up to solar?
Is it possible to scale up this design? 4S is preferable to my knowledage in an 12V-system. But, what is the best design for large scale bank? BMS? etc.
A 4S is not a 12v setup it is a 16v setup, completely different battery

No, they are rated at 3.7V-4.2V each, and they are wired so their voltages equal around 12V.

This cannot replace a 12V battery directly, it needs some Modifications mostly a DC to DC Buck / Boost converter. Would like to see this replace a 12V Lead acid battery.

Depends how many Amp Hour reserve you need ,, this pack is close to 10.7 Amp hours X your 8 you want to use will give ya about 85.6 Amp hours .
you`d need close to 120 of these cells . $$$$$ Cheaper to buy a dedicated 12V Deep Cycle RV battery ..

I can't see why you've added a balancing wires n connector for a balance charger. Doesn't the 3S 12V 12A/25A Polymer Li-ion Lithium 18650 board do the balancing its self???
That is possible, just use a 3S BMS that is balanced.
Be aware though that the balancing of such a board is limited, so use batteries that are matched.
Matched batteries have about the same capacity. It is always a bad idea to mix batteries with big differences in capacity.

That BMS board has balancing built in, so you don't need to connect the balance connector.

Yes well it's 11.1 volts but fully charged it will be 12.6 volts so you can ues it as 12 volts.

There is no need for that balancing board if you are gonna connect it to a balance charger. The charger will already do the balancing.

It's battery wrap. You can get spools on eBay super cheap.
Shrinking tube, you can also buy them pre-cut for 18650 batteries.

How many amps does it content?
Depends on how much your bms is rated to. Example if the bms/charger board is rated 30amp then the battery pack video you just saw should be 2500 mah each or lower.

It's 3S5P, so 3 packs of 5 parallel in series.
Nominal voltage is 3x3.6 = 10.8V (charging voltage is 3x4.2=12.6V)
Capacity is 5x capacity of single cell.
