    lmao, Geoff's section is already out of date (see VP's In The Air Tonight, he has some MEEEATY chest notes). I'd like to give kudos to those whose ranges are actually high-enough quality to be undoubtedly chest (e.g. Geoff, Eric, Glenn). Given Tim's ability to flawlessly mix chest and fry, I'm confused on his lowest notes.

  • @Stan_S_Stanman
    @Stan_S_Stanman Год назад +8

    I still think that Geoff's B4 in Oogie Boogie's song is chest. It sounds fuller than some of the B4's in this video IMO.
    And some of the bottom notes throughout the video I wouldn't really count because they don't sound that great or they have more of a chest-fry quality. I only consider the notes countable if they're used in a song and semi consistently. I don't count the notes towards a person's range if if it's a one-off or if they can only do it in an isolated fashion. Just a pet peeve of mine 😄
    Great compilation regardless!
    I can't get over how meaty that F1 from Tim sounds🥶

      Thank you! I agree with you, finding someone’s lowest “true note” can be quite difficult. Especially the lower you get, the notes slowly start to lack in quality so it can be hard to pinpoint exactly where it doesn’t count anymore as usable range, but some of these notes in the video are not usable. Props to those who are able to actually sing in their entire range (such as Eric Hollaway).

    Firstly, I'd like to unofficially submit myself. (G1 - G#4)
    Secondly there are a couple of these I will still correct.
    Ivan Rebroff's highest note is actually A4
    Glenn Miller's low note that you included is closer to Bb0
    I vaguely remember Casper doing a G1 chest, but I don't remember where it is
    And I'm still not convinced that Matt Spriggs' Bb0 is chest. It sounds way too much like fry, and I know he's known for his fry
    But lastly, this was a great video. You included people I never would have thought of

    • @BassManMatteo
      @BassManMatteo  Год назад +4

      Thank you! I didn’t include Casper’s G1 “chest” since he told me his lowest was A1. The G1 was chest fry I think. Same with the F5 “chest” likely being mixed since he told me his highest was E5 (he has hit an F5 but he’s saving it for a future video). I didn’t include Ivan’s A4 since it sounded… not musical, just a shout, but you could say the same thing about Paul’s G5 so maybe that one should be included.

I've checked on my Pitch App, and I literally noticed, that I had to pitch half the semitone higher to discover the original note. Hope I made you understand.

      Also, I have forgotten to mention another low bass guy, whose RUclips channel is named as MinervaLowBass. It's a young low bass boy with 22 years old, who has a SUPER LOW VOICE FOR HIS AGE, and what he does on his channel is basically showing his singing stylistic, with some bass covers, and he uses some vocal bass techniques such as subharmonics and vocal fry. Great part of the time he has showed that he can hit an F1/F#1 everyday with his normal voice! He has proved to get an E1 in chest voice once a week or on a healthy rest days. He even has recorded a Douvle Low E, while doing G2-F#1 scale.
      He even stated to hit an Eb1 in chest a few times. Unfortunately he doesn't have any recorded Eb1 :(
      He admitted to go up to an F#4 with his natural voice!
      Which means his full recorded chest range is 3 octaves and 2 semitones.
      His full chest range hovers 3 octaves and 3 semitones.
      His tone his so beautiful and soft!!!

      It all comes from practice. You can totally your high range by singing from the belly, because that is where it comes all of your air, so whenever you are singing at the bottom of your upper range, also try to follow the pitch, for me, it helped a lot, because you can train your voice to support that pitch, and that is the most important thing to consider, when it comes to sing properly.
      Thats what I can advice for you.
