Hi from Cape Town! I grow the plth and I keep the terracotta pot in a plastic cover pot which has a layer of lakka balls on the bottom which are always in a shallow cover of water ; I spray every am and feed once a week weak and it flowered nicely ; it’s on a bathroom window sill on the cool darker side of the house
Hi ! just about the second orchid, maybe you should grow it in a plastic pot to be sure that i will not dry in a single day. I guess the summer will be terrible for this plant in a terra-cotta pot :) you could also add some sphagnum to the mix so it stays rather moist. In my expérience, these plants are doing very well in self-watering pots (I just make sure to empty the reservoir in winter or leave just a tiny little water in the deep to let it stay humid) :)
I have both of these plants. The dendrochilum still hasn’t bloomed, but I bought it as a division, so perhaps it’s still too young. In a fit of utter stupidity, I massacred two of my pleurothallis orchids, by moving them into a sunnier position when they started blooming. The leaves got horribly scorched, and I’ll be reminded of my idiocy every time I look at these poor damaged plants.

Oh thank you - and thanks for watching!
Hi, were there any updates on these? 😊
Tiny flowers but they are so beautiful 👍
Thanks for watching!

Oh no - I have that 'look at my suffering you caused" burnt leaves too! And they can sometimes take YEARS to move on! Orchids can be cruel!
