Love the detail of the L glitching in and out of “REP(L)AY”, I think that confirms the “monster” is a victim getting revenge on the player
That and the fact that there was a bottle of acid and a bucket in his room!
Cool game, didn't take long to give me the creeps. My interpretation of it is the guy we play in the game is like a burgeler, hence the character sneaking every time we went inside a house. And maybe the kid stops him when he breaks in his house with the bucket of acid. Maybe he dies and comes back through the game to seek revenge. Like some creepy Home Alone pay back 😂. At least that's what I got from it. Either way kudos to the devs for a cool scary game

The concept reminds me of that old VR game called Duck Season, based on the 8-bit arcade game called Duck Hunt

i saw ryan play this game a few weeks back and he had the same idea about the vengance thing because the game name says "Repay" at the end which could mean the guy who's face was burnt off came to exact revenge
The game seems to betray us as a child so it would make sense the acid thing was a prank gone wrong
The promise of this game feels like one of those video game creepypastas from the early 2010s all it needs is creepy stock music and an narrator

My god this is EXACTLY my biggest childhood fear. Anytime I was sat at the tv alone at night I was constantly checking all the hallways and doors, sure that that night, something would come out of one of them

Something interesting is that the REPLAY word shown in the menu and end sometimes shows with the L, spelling REPAY, which suggests that we the player are repaying for something bad we did

I like when the lighting strikes on both the game and the bedroom you see the shadow of the monster in the bedroom and in the game the character you play as has a burnt face revealing what is going to happen later
Short but sweet.
If you rearrange the letters in replay, you can spell out player, suggesting that the monster is a victom of said player

The l drops off the title turning Replay into Repay, so I’m sure we’re a murderer being tormented with a curse forced to control our victim’s vengeance.
This reminds me of an old Oculus Rift game called ALONE.
It has the same kind of premise where you are in a house playing a video game on a tv inside the game, which worked really well for a VR setting! That was one of my favorite short VR horror games.
I'm at the edge of my seat during this entire playthrough. I am just waiting for the killer jumpscare...

I like how the main character just doesn't give a f*ck. Door opening on its own, powering going on and off, pool of blood appearing in the room, creepy face appearing behind them. And all the while they're just like "I don't care, I wanna play my game" lol
You should check out Gore Doctor! It freaked me out so bad I turned it off the first time I played it!

I always had a idea like this but the monsters would jump out of the tv
Cute hame, but I feel like I've seen so many games that feature someone playing a game while someone or something comes into their home related to what they are doing in the game, it's a trope. I think there was a game very similar to this except for the storyline.
Something I notied, and I don't know if anyone's already pointed this out, is that at the end, the title of REPLAY shows up, but then changed to REP AY, or repay.

This reminds me A LOT of another game… specifically the one made by the same developer of [The Wind] that markiplier and other personalities played back in the day… it had the same vibe, but you were instead playing a 2D black and white handheld game. I’ll make an edit if I find the name

The game seems a little basic on the story but the ending was very scary. We were controlling the monster and we had no idea. If this game was real and I was in there in real life I would not survive. No way will this ever be real. Ever!

Even the language is kinda grouped in the way execute a sentence I notice that, shogo.. speaks perfect English no mispronounced words, and or anything, but he speaks in a way that is still polite manneable as if he's waiting for someone else to speak, I was wondering why in a video of his I watched earlier today why does he keep stopping between each word uses, he's speaking literally perfect English but he cuts or phrases sentences as if he's waiting for a interjection or someone else to speak but then I remembered this isn't his first language he just speaks it very well.. but that just the intonation of his natural language coming thru and phrasing his sentences. . We've as an American and others I know who also love Japanese culture notice they speak in a very polite way as if not to offend to bring any kind of disharmony with anyone... that with in itself shows how much of their culture is ingrained in their people, those hard times where really traumatic for their culture and it's easily understandable, for it to have passed down in thier history... so I guess you could say the whole culture is molding itself, the history of the are traumatized by those hard times understandable
