The Secret Story of Wick Explained (Horror Game Theories)

- Опубликовано: 25 июн 2024
- Wick seems like a typical survival horror game at first glance. We play a teenager called Sam, trying his luck at a paranormal ritual known as Wick, the objective to survive until 6am with only a candle and matches to fend off the spirits of the demon children haunting the woods around him. However there is a much more complex story hidden beneath the basic premise of Wick. A strange family known as the Weavers who lived nearby these woods almost one hundred years ago and came into contact with a malicious omen. What does it all mean? Watch on to find out.

Travis stole the children’s keepsakes and scattered them throughout the woods and the children punished Travis for it by killing him. A few months later, Sam located all of the lost keepsakes and returned them to the children’s graves before dying (possibly from hypothermia) and the children rewarded Sam by basically accepting him into their family and becoming his new friends.
That's a good theory!

Those kids are not friends anymore because they are friends now because we're just join them by in their killing spree to kill others
Imagine you just get bonked by one of the children, but instead of dying, you just get hurt.
We were bad, but now we're good
What if Mary killed all the kids in some way, burying Caleb alive, slashing Benny's throat while he slept, throwing Lillian in the well, possibly smothering Tim and Tom which explains the coughing and gasping, and finally burning herself alive in the house. To me, she seems to have some sort of mental illness she projects onto the kids, mostly Tim and Tom
Ok I like this comment it makes sense.
This makes the most sense, since their body's weren't found in the house, so it couldn't have been during the fire.
Or the Father did... he does say everything was taken from him before he hung himself but he doesn't say how. And he did return from the Trauma of War. He may have felt those that were actually his children were turned against him. And the Mother and the Father's bodies were both found but we don't know in what state. The mother may have ended herself when she learned what he did. There's some ambiguity there.
It makes sense. Me and my friend though of this as well

Caleb: Fast as shit human mole

Just a note about Tom and Tim: Twins were considered a bad omen in those times, especially if they were the same gender. It would've been normal for religious families to take that as a curse and freak out like the Weavers did.
Also, Tom suffered from polio (since one of his items is a leg brace for treating children with polio), so Tim probably also had some sort of illness that made the weavers believe they were cursed.
@@adrianposkonka8331 Tim has asthma ( don't know if i spelled that right ) i think
@@justglitchmc4861 the likelihood of Tim having asthma sort of depends on knowing HOW Tim died, since his coughing might've been caused by smoke inhalation if he died due to the fire.
I'm a twin,thank goodness
Not only that, but "changelings" at that time was the explanation for children with autism.
Okay wait a minute. I thought it was suspicious that the teenager guy was suggesting this game over and over even when sam went missing/was traumatized. But after seeing this, I wonder if that teenage guy IS the demon. Maybe that’s why the souls of the kids can’t move on, and that’s why he keeps bringing in people to those woods to meet an unfortunate end.
The teenager who is suggesting sam to the forest ( his name is duncan ) is tbubber (travis burton) friends, duncan kill tbubber because he is mad because tbubber takes all the credits for himself, and duncan suggesting sam to the forest, maybe its because some sort of revenge, because sam is also a friend of tbubber, and the kids can't move on because tbubber disturb them by taking their item, which is belonging to them.
@@justglitchmc4861 But if Sam is a friend of TBubber, why the heck are the children still in the forest, and what the heck is Duncan still inviting more people to play Wick?

For Lillian based on the clues i would say that she knocked her rabbit into the well and then went down in the bucket to get it back but sadly the ropes snapped and she drowned. It would make sense that her brothers would help her with it as well, they probably thought it would be great fun to send her down into the slimy cold dark.
I did get the sense that it wasn't her that was doing what sounded like killing the rabbit. I think the Rabbit might have been her pet and was killed by another.
It could explain why she always bursts from the ground and why her skin looks so clammy.
I wonder if the accident that disfigured Tom was falling down the well, just like Lillian? If you look at Tom, his arms and legs look as if they have been broken, which could be caused by a large fall. Also, Lillian speaks of Jack and Jill, saying that Jack fell down then Jill came stumbling after. What if Tom somehow fell into the well and Lillian attempted to save him, only to fall in as well and die?
Oh wow that is actually a very good theory! It would make sense, tbh.

Close. They were switched out with faeries & not demons

Yeah I did speculate that the twins were just nd or something, as people back then believed mental disorders were caused by demons.
@@bookerfeniks180 People would often leave babies that were labeled as “changelings” in the woods, thinking that the fairies would take the “changelings” and replace them with healthy babies. Obviously, the babies weren’t changelings and there weren’t any fairies secretly swapping babies. They were just regular human babies that were born with defects and illnesses, and the idiots who left them in the woods expecting fairies to take them and replace them with healthy babies were delusional and were really just leaving their kids to die in the woods because they couldn’t accept the idea of their kids being born with issues.
I don’t think the twins are bad, I think they’re actually pretty close with the rest of the kids. I think the Mom thinks they’re bad, and she takes it like she’s being influenced by them

So, I might ve wrong, but by the drawing of Lilian and her objects, plus her audio, to me it feels more logical that she died by having her head crushed on a fall. Her stuffed rabbit probably fell down the well and she fell down when going after it by trying to lower herself with the bucket. This can be concluded by the drawing of her with blood dripping down her head from under the oncee she wears and the fractured skull of a rabbit.
A theory adding on to yours:
Around those times, twins were said to be bad omens even worse if they were the same gender. I've been reading and heard a lot of theory's on Tim having Polio. I have something to add to that, In very few Polio cases it takes over the whole body. When this happens, it becomes really hard to breath and usually it leads to the head being tilted to its last motion. For these cases, there are things called the "Iron Lung" which supplies oxygen to the lungs while keeping the body secure. Another use is when the body becomes paralyzed due to illness or accidents (Falling out of a tree perhaps?) and can't breath well. Iron lungs were used. That's why i think they breath so loudly, having had used an iron lung to breath. Give me feedback i taught it was clever!
Nah cos then they’d both be deformed and only one is also the iron lung leave u incapacitated so he would’ve gotten off it way way wayyy before dying
Here’s my thoughts: I think the mother killed Caleb. The person panting while digging with the shovel sounds like a woman, and how would Lillian, one of the girls in the game, be able to drag the body of an older athlete into a pit? Plus, why would the kids hang around the twins if the twins, one of the other options for the killers, were the ones that killed them? It feels weird. I think the mother, in a religious fervor, killed her daughter, who was being influenced by the twins, killed Caleb by burying him, perhaps he got hurt and she thought he was dead already, and lastly burned the twins, what she believed to be the cause of her misfortune. But it was not they, they were merely vessels, a punishment for the mother not accepting the consequences of her actions. Perhaps her children died, one by one, and in a final twist of fate, she killed the twins and herself. Maybe Caleb was the first, hence why he is skeletal. Then Benny, due to him showing signs of decay and rot, then the little girl (Lillian? Sorry, bad with names), drowned whilst trying to cleanse her of evil, and she not showing any sign of rot, merely death, and lastly the twins.
actually Caleb is younger than the twins by about 3-4 years but otherwise thats a solid theory

@@YunikuYosefMomoka Sam manages to locate all of the keepsakes and returns the items to the childrens' graves. Shortly after returning the missing items, Sam ends up dying (most likely from hypothermia) and is befriended by the Weaver children. Sometime later, Duncan and Sam's old "friends" are still bringing people to the woods for some reason, despite knowing that Sam "disapeared" in those woods and possibly being aware of how Travis "disapeared" in the woods a few months prior to when they brought Sam there.
The twins wasn't the one who killed the sibling
Benny : died in the fire while hes sleeping which is why the candle light will wake him up
Caleb : Got buried by his mother ( because if you hear the voice while we take a look at the shovel, the voice sounds like a women) which is why he was digging from underground
Lillian : idk, fall into the well and drowned? Or maybe she was stuck in her room while she was in the fire and screaming for help, which is why she use her scream when she kill sam
Tim : Got killed because they though that he was posessed by a demon or died in the fire, which explain why he always coughing due to the small amount of oxygen.
Tom : The same fate as tim, or he fell down in the well too, because if you take a look at the bucket, the voice says this "Jack and jill went up the hill, Jack fell down and jill come stumbling after". Which explain why hes leg was broken.

In my opinion, I like to think Tim and Tom were not changelings. They just had problems that were seen as unholy and possibly a curse. Because religion was strong in the community/family, I think because of Tom having polio and both him and Tim having other issues as well led to Mary and John keeping them mostly hidden and possibly spreading lies to their other children about them.
I think Tim was also seen as evil or "demonic" due to his violent, (possibly rebellious) nature. Tim seems like the kid to enjoy hurting others or is willing to hurt anyone who gets in his or his brother's way. I also like to think they or at least Tim, had a place in their mother's and sibling's death, but that's just what I like to think.
Twins were seen as a bad omen in these times, especially same gendered so even if they weren’t affair babies they’d still likely be treated badly.

Hi! Just a quick note about Benny-you said he most likely had Dyslexia but Dyslexia mainly impacts reading, what you provide were referring to is Dysgraphia, which is basically Dyslexia but with writing like mixing up letters and getting them backwards, stuff like that. Plus there's a few other things it impacts such as fine motor skills and hand writing in general. I may sound like I'm nit picking but as someone who has Dysgraphia i like to inform people of these things to make it more well known. Anyway, have a good day!!
is it just me or is there anyone else that wants a sequel to this game
I'd like to see a sequel where Sam is one of the ghosts that you have to run from. It would be awesome if they had an ending where Sam gets revenge on his old friend group. They could even add Travis' ghost and have him get revenge on Duncan for killing him (Duncan is most likely the murderer).
There's no need to worry about designing their appearances because we already know what they look like.
The missing persons report for Travis provides a very detailed description of his appearance. Travis was a 15 year old boy with black hair, brown eyes, light skin, and a left eyebrow piercing. He also wore wire-trimmed glasses, a red hooded jacket, jeans, black coverse runners, a gold chain with a small crucifix, and a gray backpack on the night of his untimely death.
As for Sam, there's actually an early piece of concept art that depicts Sam's full appearance. He has long reddish hair and wears a red long-sleeved shirt, blue pants, and brown shoes (in the game, you can tell by looking at his sleeves that he's still wearing the red shirt). This piece of concept art even appears in this video! It's a colorful drawing of Sam walking above ground and Caleb tunneling underneath him with the words "Keep moving". The picture appears at 12:32 in this video.
Omg I'd love to see a sequel it would be so amazing and just in general the game is great and I love the mystery and everything about it!
If this game does get another prequel I hope it sheds more light on the children and we get to see sams new distorted form
When he talks about the no way out DLC you can hear the fear in Travis’s voice
4:55 “ no way out. What does that mean?”

- The famous last words of Travis Burton/TBubber.
I feel like Sam either got peer pressured or bullied into participating in wick. The way his "friends" speak to him seems like that.
probably, his friends definitely don’t seem like real ones
just some quick notes about changelings and how they affect the lore.
1. Changelings were usually taken after being born once the parental bond was established. specifically a supernatural entity would kidnap the infant and take his or her place usually because they desire the easy life infants have.
2. changelings were usually dealt with through abuse and neglect in order to either trick the entity into revealing its identity or just make it so miserable it leaves of its own accord, which would force it to return the original child.
point 2 is establishes as something the weavers were doing to the twins through various clips in the game. and perhaps the disfiguring accident that makes tom look mangled wasnt an accident, but rather the weavers attempting to drive out the changeling. the fact that tom and tim look and behave so differently in death suggests that only tom may be a changeling while tim was an ordinary boy given supernatural power in death. supporting this is the fact that iron tools were often used to abuse suspected changelings because wounds inflicted n them by iron would not heal, explaining why tom is mangled as a ghost and tim is not.
That actually makes a lot of sense. I wonder if Tim ever had second thoughts about his brother. Even so that Sunday event in the game has brought up flags, I wonder who suggested the idea to kill the priest. Tim or Tom. Or maybe both?.
I think Duncan killed Travis because it says on the wiki that he knows more about the wick camp game than he's letting on and it seems he is very vengeful and he also acted suspicious when the police were talking with him.
Depite their religious upbringing the Kids seem to be close to one another, what if there was no real "evil" before and the paranoia over the consequences of his wifes adultery made the parents actually be the ones lashing out verbally as at times even physically around or even towards the children?
The children might have had thought they have to protect one another, the twins probably got most of the short ends of the sticks due to being the product of their mothers adultery.
I wouldn't be suprised if their deaths, if we think that some of them happened after the fire instead of before (however when I think about it even before would work and the father hanging himself after realizing what they became) that the pastor was actually involved in burying the wicked to cleanse his herd?
What if he even was the affair partner and the mother just not dare point her finger at him?
Just a thought since as much as Benny did repeat what his parents told him as fact, I don't see reason to belief that he was harming his brothers, which wouldn't be a suprise if he had done so in the situation and how "normal" it must seem to him.
So...what if the accident, wasn't an accident?
What if the parents killed one of their kids after the other, maybe even as a contest to punish the other.
Also a possebility. I do agree on the "how" they died part mostly. Just the who did it and who was the actual culprit getting the more violent tendencies into the children I think was less a spirit, but more so their actual upbringing.
I wouldn't be suprised if the children spirits simply feel wronged and want to "afterlive" their lifes playing and being for once at peace together.
But people keep messing with their shit and forget to bring it back.
Oh, also what if: The tuber actually set the stage for Sam? And the one hitting him with the shovel is the guy that keeps bringing kids up there?
Also tying a bit in my theory that the pastor was the actual affairpartner, it would also work with another affairpartner since: What if the one keeping bringing kids up there is their halfbrother?
IF we go with the twisted nature came from the affairpartner, it would be possible that he kept sleeping around planting "seeds".
And the halfbrother figured out they were related and just keeps bringing his siblings "presents" to play with.
But that is just a theory.
A Game Theory.
I have a theory that maybe Lilian didn't abused animals and the skull represents what happend when she fell. I'm sure it was possible for her to fell head first and crush her own skull on rocks. The rabbit skull would be a good choose for a symbol for Lilian since she even wears a rabbit pijama

I think these are the likely cause of death of the Weaver Children and Tbubber.
Tim: Suffocation or Hypothermia
Tom: Suffocation, Hypothermia, or Internal Bleeding (Think of why Tom gags out blood in his No Way Out)
Benny: Stabbed with a knife, but survived only to die from his injuries few minutes later
Caleb: Buried Alive (Suffocation or Starved to Death, due to Caleb being able to eat the player)
Lillian: Drowned in the well
Tbubber: Likely killed by Tim, as Tim was the only one of the Weaver children to be absent during the final chase in the No Way Out DLC.
I get the feeling that in the bad ending, one of the group members has a lit candle and you blow it out so that you and the other children can get revenge.
I think the reason that everyone looks worse in No Way Out, despite it being before Sam, is that the children's bodies themselves rose with their souls because of TBubber disrespecting them, while Sam didn't do anything, therefore only their spirits rose for him.

4:57 no way out? What does that mean?
*bonk
Ok, can we all agree that MacAlroy's death is one of the most satisfying moments in horror game history? I can just imagine the few seconds after: Tim and Tom exit down the aisle while smirking at their dying victim, Benny is briefly spooked, but decides to just watch the fireworks, Lillian taunts the dead pastor, Caleb grabs a Hymnal and starts whacking the corpse's stomach with it, John smiles coldly, and Mary looks like she'll have a heart attack.
Theory: Since Benny was really religious, he caused Tom to have that accident, so Tim sliced Benny's neck and thus we hear him threatening someone when examining the knife
on my first playthrough of this game when i first encountered the deformed one i screamed so loud that my neighbor came rushing over to my house and asked if i was ok
For Sam I think he died of hypothermia or something related to the cold. He sounds like he's shivering at times. He might have candles and matches but that's not enough heat to prevent it.
Edit:
Here are the symptoms of Hypothermia!
-Shivering.
-Exhaustion or feeling very tired.
-Confusion.
-Fumbling hands.
-Memory loss.
-Slurred speech.
-Drowsiness.
4:53 - Oscar worthy line.
Moral of the story don’t cheat it always ends badly
The start already is scary
Tim: trying to hide Tom from the real world Tom: sensitive demon Benny: lazy hulk child Caleb: outdoor digger Lillian: bunny baby
Great! Can you cover Year Walk sometime? It's a really beautiful enchanting short horror game based on European folklore. That I honestly view as a hidden gem.
The bad ending felt like a secondary good ending because Sam along with the group might've got revenge on the people who brought him there.
Let us all give a silent prayer to the poor rabbit who was slaughtered
Evergreen respect to SHB for being calm enough to analyse the area while playing these horror games
The demons/children in Wick remind me of Man of Medan: Little Hope where the doubles are based on how they died.
Except none of it actually happened in little hope
@@quartzskull8772 point being?
@@eueylumagui7979 there is little to no connections to be made
@@quartzskull8772 bruh what's wrong with me just saying an opinion. The words that you say make no sense.
Try reading and understanding before replying.😒
I remember knowing what wick was a long time ago
I never bothered to look for it so I assumed that it was a dream
I never understood it
but hopefully this will clear it up
7:05 "And the pastor warned Mary that her twins were cursed." And that's why if I was one of the ghost children I would have gone for the pastor, I bet the twins would have given him a spiritual smacking.!
This is still in my top ten horror games list. I love the story, and the charachters so much. I wish they would get a collab with other horror games, or games with horror like elements.
I think Tom was getting bullied and Tim pulled out a knife
Its the opposite, because that knife had a name written on it "Tim"
@@justglitchmc4861 fixed it
Yeah probably because he has polio and it's known thst they both actually go to school so-
I think that Lillian is a banshee because of the scream used to kill the player
Ah yes, I'm well fed today with some wick theories
Thank you so much for this video on our game! Your attention to detail is amazing!
Just the mention of Changeling children got me hooked even more hehe. Though a bit different in this one, old legends being more about children being swapped at birth by Fae creatures, while the real human babies are off in another realm. Either way, Wick is an exceptionally unique and fun game, and thine video is indeed an amazing dive into its lore and story as well!
I seriously suggest you should play Fran bow.
Can u explain the story’s of every kid ghost in this game please I don’t care if u do one at a time or all at once
he did in this video there isnt anything concrete on what happened to them so he used context clues the make a educated guess
I feel like the twins weren't changelings, but because of the preacher's influence and the husband's jealousy the kids were neglected and abused resulting in theur behaviour.
This also makes me suspect in the preacher's motives. "You know I care about you, but..." An affair with a mysterious stranger? Sounds like a demon in priest's clothing to me. That exorcism might've been just am excuse to shake suspicion off him for wanting rid of the twins.
I agree with the others that Duncan was probably the demon... I think the preacher was too. Taking advantage of the paranoia and ignorance of the day. Twisting the bible to influemce those who never studied it for themselves.
The whole “theres no demon” theory makes zero sense when you take in the consideration the church scene in No Way Out, where theres clearly some kind of demon.
Just a theory on the death of the twins death instead of them dying in a fire with their mother ( because if they had that way police would have found the body's) they were forced out of their home by the fire into the cold of the night and may have gotten pneumonia that would could be the cause of their coughing and wessing
This isn’t my comment but:
Sam may have died of hypothermia, not the kids. Sam sounds like he’s shivering the entire game until he dies.
Another note, the only thing that is required for Hypothermia is going below 95 degrees in our body.
And he can't go 3 steps without losing breath
I love your theory videos, and with Little Nightmares 2, FNAF Security Breach, and BATDR coming this year I can't wait for more play throughs and awesome theories 😁🖤
My theory:i feel like tim,tom or mary had somthing to do with their deaths, maybe caleb fell into the hole they had made, then they burried caleb alive, shoved lillians toy rabbit down the well..and lillian went down in the bucket, than they snapped the rope in half and blocked up the well and then drowned lillian, and as you can see tim and tom are wearing school uniforms...maybe tim got in a fight and than tom threatened the bully after hearing about it,and maybe in the fight he hurt himself badly
You know how hard I wheezed at "no way out? What does that mean?"
You should totally do a video on The Path! It has the same vibes as this one with collecting items.
