Always fun to see you playing seriously and keeping score . Most of us here watch for the comedy - and the occasional smug feeling of pride should we see a word .

The comedian next to Susie Dent, Peter Serafinowicz is a bit of a legend. He is quite brilliant, a great actor as well as comedian and impressionist.

I agree about Peter. I believe he did his own show on BBC many years ago but for some reason has never made it big time. So he just does the occasional panel show although he is a big voice over artist. Famously impersonated Pele speaking English in a serious public information commercial about male impotence.

Yes, there was just one series of The Peter Serafinowicz Show made on TV. Luckily, last I checked, all the episodes are available to watch on RUclips. 👍 @@johnnyuk3365

@@leohickey4953 Also, his impersonation of the late, great Terry Wogan is as good, if not even better , than Rob Brydon's version, which is praise indeed. Also, I've only ever seen one impersonation of the late, great Sean Lock, and I think that might have been by Peter. Whoever it was, it was really good too.

@@Richard-jh7nt Agreed. I can't remember him doing Sean Lock, but it sounds right. Terry Wogan will be completely unknown to a US audience, but here's a clip from Jonathan Ross's BBC show with Peter's uncanny rendition of him, and the bemused subject looking on from the green room...

Great reaction! Doesn't one get 10 points for solving a 9-letter brainteaser? I'm just asking; I don't really care.
Please, consider reacting to Peter Serafinowicz's impersonations and impressions of various famous actors & stars being interviewed. It's well done and hilarious.

@@reinholdmueller4882 It's 10 points (or occasionally more on 8oo10CDC to give both teams a chance to win) for the conundrum at the end. The ones before the breaks are just for the audience. This was an 8-letter one, by the way.

Is it just me or did anyone else do
    8x75=600 -587=13
So how do you get 13?
    25-8-4=13
Am I doing it the hard way? In my day this was basic mental arithmetic. Everyone could do it. They had to because there were 240p to the £1 ...
    4 farthings = 1 penny, 48 farthings = 1 shilling, 960 farthings = £1
    2 halfpennies = 1 penny, 24 halfpennies = 1 shilling, 480 halfpennies = £1
    12 pennies = 1 shilling, 240 pennies = £1
    4 x threepence = 1 shilling, 80 threepence = £1
    2 x six pence = 1 shilling, 40 sixpennies = £1
    12 pence = 1 shilling, 20 shillings = £1
    24 pence = a florin, 2 shillings = a florin, 10 florins = £1
    30 pence = a half crown, 2 s. 6d. = a half crown, 8 half crowns = £1
And people made change in their heads, including every housewife and child who had money. They didn't have a cash register working it out for them. It was all in their head in a quick and decisive mental calculation.
Where is the kids version of Countdown, I'd like to see the comparison.

@@dannykent6190 I wasn't necessarily taking about this specific puzzle. More the methodology of getting the nearest to it, then finding the remainder. Simplifying the arithmetic and speeding up the potential solutions.
It's very similar to the approach to making change. Hence my referencing currency and old far more complex currency variations.
