I'm really not sure if this would work for everyone, but I made a decision to quit drawing from reference and draw entirely from imagination as I found it more "Enjoyable." (I believe the more you like art the better you'll get skill wise.) Drawing entirely from my mind forced me to imagine scenes and characters and "create" my own people environment creatures, etc. I think there is a limitless amount of visual information surrounding us daily that can be observed and translated into a drawing. In short I think drawing from imagination, and free hand perspective are my favorite aspects. I like to think of my art as if I was an island alone what would I draw? How would I need to prepare myself to be able to draw whatever I want on an island alone without reference.
@GK I read a few books on perspective, fundamentals, and anatomy. I'd say 95 percent of what I've improved on is experimenting, trial and error, and playing around with ideas. Drawing from imagination feels to me like its own art form, with a different feeling to drawing from direct observation. Sort of like the difference between life drawing and drawing from a photo. Hope this helps, thank you for asking!
I think your art style is inspired by the late Kim Jung Gi. Nice art 👍
Keep it up
Yeah I definitely studied his work a lot.
Sir, any advice to be this level of good at art from your personal opinion ?
