Today, we will be covering the Heterotrophic mode of nutrition and its types: Like other organisms such as humans and other animals, plants can also depend on other organisms for their nutrition. It is of different types.
Parasitic mode: Depends on the host for its nutrition. The host gets deprived of important nutrients.
Symbiotic mode: In this mode, both the organisms are benefited from each other.
Saprophytic mode: Depends on the dead and decaying matter for their nutrition.
Insectivorous plants: Depends on insects mostly for replenishing nitrogen requirements. They are partially heterotrophic in nature.
