I mantled a slab on Rainier back in 2010, and a huge ass chunk of the mountain broke away from underneath me... Beautiful Mountain, but it will tell you when to hang up your crampons...
I'd like to compliment you on this video, and for executing a solid climb of Rainier! You really captured the "bigness" of that mountain, and the difficulty of the Liberty Ridge.
You did good climbing a non-traditional route that is much different from the usual route. Shows a different perspective of the mountain and glaciers. Also shows a distant avalanche. Wish you would have done your pan shots much slower though, would show the scenery better. Thanks for sharing.
Tks for this video! Man this route looks unsafe at any speed to me, guys. I'd be wearing a full face racing helmet under that unstable ridge.. spooky as hell! I wanna just go camp up there with a camera and watch the mountain come down. Piece by piece. Love the shot coming down the glaciers. Wow!
Well Done. I saw two stoves. I am trying to get a feel for how much fuel to take. 2 partners and myself just did Kautz Glacier (3days) and we used just over 1/2 a liter of white gas in a MSR Whisper Light.
congrats you two on making it to the top! me and my dad are gonna try and attempt the summit next year. for the liberty ridge climb did you have any intimidating moments?

Nicely done! It brings a lot good memory. I climbed Liberty Ridge in 2010 and Sunset Ridge in 2012.
Climbed Liberty circa 1976...and Fuhrer Finger a couple years earlier

Thank you!
I remember reading about this climb in a book called "the Ledge".
Loved your video. Really put me there on Liberty Ridge. Look forward to doing it one day myself. Thanks for sharing!
Great clip and enjoyed. My girl friend in high school lost her father on Curtis Ridge back around 1970.
This is my favorite Rainier video to watch ~
Upbeat music is also great!
