The difference between Ron's confidence and Donna's is that Donna doesn't do flashy displays of it. Its why when Tom, Ben, and Andy find her with two men in the club, smoking a cigar, and she's like "Gentlemen", that's the epitome of Donna. She doesn't need you to know she's awesome because she's too busy enjoying being awesome.

Donna was the most finically successful character on the show. She was like Tom without the dumb business idea's and terrible business partners to bring it down (Jean-Ralphio). she knew what she wanted to do and she did it well, treat yourself.

I think what’s funny about it is how direct - and against American standards of beauty - their choice for Donna is. And how Donna is so worldly, she’s like “Yeah, makes sense to me.”
Also, i’m Latin, and it’s not uncommon for us to address each other by descriptions of our physique as a term of endearment (i.e. calling someone the equivalent of fatty, “gordita”, or blacky, “negrita” is considered sweet. However, stuff changes).

She's now fat after our 3rd son, so i call her a whale, and she calls me pencil. You can guess why, and we're very happy. If you can't find people like that, change the geography. America is not the whole world.
