Ron has a father-son relationship with Andy and a father-daughter relationship with April. The fact that Andy marries April just makes that so much more wholesome.
@Jayn-Sync While I find most imitation meat thoroughly unpleasant, I think its worthwhile actually improving this aspect of food technology. If they can make veggies zero in on meat in terms of taste and nutrients, we could stop farming animals for food, which is a pretty significant factor in greenhouse gas emission (and you know, the whole butchering-living-things-after-keeping them-in-horrid-conditions as an industry). But until then, unfortunately I'll be having my regular ol cheeseburgers.
Everyone trying to be a kind of Ron Swanson manly man makes the mistake of thinking it's a cynical, "i don't care about anything or anyone" thing. But videos like this show so well how Ron cares for the people around him and shows it, even if it's in his own weird ways.
Good observation. Ron Swanson isn't cynical, he's deeply proud, independent and sensitive and therefore deeply guarded. It takes a lot of time and work to get to know and understand him but for those who do, it's a much deeper connection.
Honestly I want to like Parks and Rec as I really like April & Ron's characters (as I have seen on youtube). The issue though is that, they are the support cast and the main cast is generally Leslie, Ann or Tom, whom I do not like. So I can never really get into the show.
Its a us office knock off. I tried to watch parks and rec on bbc 3 when that was terrestrial tv station and i could not get into parks and rec @glenbe4026
The odd thing about April is that, she has good parents. But, her father isn't as manly and apathetic like Ron, and her attitude on life is full on apathetic, that's why they get along soo well.
These two and their relationship were my favorite part of the show. I love those characters that appear emotionally closed off but then share some tender moments, bonus if with each other. Thanks for making this!
Both characters were very well written and excellently played by Nick Offerman and Aubrey Plaza. The father-daightee dynamic between Ron and April was the best thing on the show for me.
Because he is the only man who can believably say it without it coming off creepy or condescending. Nick Offerman always played their interactions as the distant, and often not-so-distant father figure perfectly.
Such amazing fleshed out characters...By the end of the series; you've fallen in love with them both...Parks is a One Off...That chemistry between the characters was so well blended.
I feel like April's Dad would have let her borrow his car if she had just told him it was to give someone a ride to the hospital I mean that's pretty reasonable
I wonder if she actually did ask her dad (without being too specific), he said “Of course, here ya go, sweetie!!” and she just waited around because she knew Ron would be embarrassed at the whole situation. Or her totally knew she needed the keys and let her “sneak out” by crashing before his usual bedtime.
How old was April at the time? Maybe she never was allowed to borrow the car. Maybe she doesn’t even have her license. Even if she did and was allowed. He probably would have got involved

It’s great how she has 2 big hearted men who love her in the show but they’re so different and love her in duality the way she is as a person…Andy is big goofy and in love ans protective and ron is serious and protective at a distance and loves her in this way

Vegan bacon isn't that bad actually. My doctor made me try to be vegan, and that was the only thing that might've stuck.
