    Another good tip, if you hold right on the D pad you can taunt your enemy which increases your multiplier each time which in turn means more XP

      Just make sure you stun the enemy first and dodge backwards real quick before you taunt because every hit you take lowers your multiplier.

    I’ve personally found it better to use the eye strike as your go to Focus Attack over Strong Sweep in most situations. Doing Strong Sweep as a focus attack to then follow up with a ground attack is great but only guarantees you two successful hits (counting ground attack as 1) on the enemy. But if you use the Eye Strike focus attack, any enemy(including bosses) will immediately be vulnerable and fall to a regular non focus sweep kick (down, up, triangle) to which then you can follow up with a ground attack. This guarantees that opening with Eye Strike Focus grants you 3 successful attacks. As opposed to the Strong Sweep Focus only guaranteeing you 2. So basically: Eye Strike focus- regular sweep kick- ground attack- repeat. Made so many boss fights easier for me. Especially once you also upgrade your Focus Regen. Hope this helps!

    • @kikuchaduniverse2397
      @kikuchaduniverse2397 2 года назад +117

      Strong sweep is good when you want breathing room. Sweep the though enemy and leave him on the ground while youfocus on other.
      I mainly use eye strike for damage since, as you said, it is more efficient. My go to is Eye Strike -> Heavy attack -> Throw -> follow-up heavy that sweeps (the unlockable) -> ground attack

    Tips from somebody who's beaten it twice most of it age 20.
    - Flowing claw is great for dealing with random boss enemies, They can't predict so you can either get 2-3 strikes or knock them down with a kick.
    - Learn to duck, especially for the Club boss (or every boss tbh) Ducking opens up oppurtunities to get full combos off you usually can't do and you won't gain stagger against weapons. Ducking also dodges glowing attacks (unless they're sweeps).
    - Sliding kick is OP and disarms (using flowing claw kick attack once they get up allows you two consequtive knock downs)
    - Do boss practice runs to nail the timing down. Being able to actually dodge the Museum bosses attacks is so satisfying.

      This game will be quickly forgotten and people won't buy this crap for not having a difficulty mode. The devs said on launch they won't have it but in the future [Whatever that might be] they will implement it. So buying this game is not worth it personally and for other people who want to enjoy a good campaign without being too difficult. I bet the devs did this to see how many people will buy it and if it's below their expectations they definitely implement it in an update. Also Returnal hasn't a difficulty mode and it was quickly forgotten and they instead put an update having photo mode and suspension mode.

    My biggest piece of advice is to master levels. Shortcuts are great for spamming a boss you can’t beat, but no matter what, you’re going to need to start each level with as low of an age as possible. Age is never brought down until you replay the level better, so you’re absolutely not going to get by with a 45 end on level 2. Mastering a level also ensures that when you go through one, you can do so without shortcuts getting as many shrines as possible, setting yourself up for a good next level. It incentivizes having a personal best. So go back and do that first level until you only die once or twice. Then the same with the next level, etc.

  • @lachlanmccormick3486
    @lachlanmccormick3486 2 года назад +16

    There are a few things I definitely disagree with in the video, I'll just bullet point them for simplicity:
    - Strong Sweep is actually a direct *downgrade,* this is because after an Eye Strike you can light attack then normal sweep (backward-forward-heavy) to do more damage and still put them on the ground... or if you have Chasing Trip kick you can do light attack into Palm Strike into Chasing Trip Kick for even more structure damage.
    -You can infact get hit off of downed enemies, you aren't invincible, but honestly it's very rare for it to happen. If an enemy sweeps you (ie staff-wielding enemies) or does a vertical downwards attack (ie grunts with bats) you get hit, the ladies with the killer kicks can do both of these with their sweep and axe kick respectively, so watch out for them.
    - This is less of a correction and more my opinion, increasing focus gain is much better than structure regen, at least later on. I'll still put a point into structure regen at some point but being able to stun bosses or problem goons (looking at you disciples of Sean) without having to wait for the correct counter window is HUGE... Plus I'm sure we all appreciate the second of downtime for your brain to reset a bit during the animation.
    Also you know what? Here are some free tips, from me to you:
    - Weapons sometimes have differen't/unexpected variations on special moves, for instance Crotch Punch on the staff has INSANE reach and pushes enemies back like Palm strike.
    -Stay away from buying the longer combos early on, they unfortunately take too long to perform most of the time and enemies will block the special move (eg the knockdown) by the time you get into it, that being said...
    -After you get a move, see if it combos straight into something, to my knowledge none of them start you at the beginning of the basic combo, and that can let you flow straight into another powerful move. The most obvious of these is Flowing Claw can be immediately followed by a Roundhouse Kick, as they show in the skill tree preview. This also applies to when you punish a parry.

I always go to the 2nd floor, cheese the lightbulb room with environmental mastery spam, then take the shrine in the next room after the easy enemies. Then up to the 3rd floor, beat the mini-boss and up the stairs to the 4th floor. This gets all the shrines in the shortest way and gets you to an elevator

    The strong sweep and face punch focus moves are not comparable. The sweep will take someone out of the fight for a while, while the face punch allows their guard to be broken in a way that allows you to either hit them regularly, or throw them into something which does heavy scructure damage.
    The sweep, however, doesn't let you do any follow up aside from the weak punch on the ground

    It can be worth doing long runs in levels despite having shortcuts unlocked in order to XP farm in order to permanently unlock abilities. You don't need anything in order to beat the game, but having abilities that give you push forward momentum or even the push back cancel allow you to either continue pressure or swing the momentum back in your favor. The biggest thing I learned about this game that completely changed both the way I play, and my confidence going into any fight, is getting the avoid mechanic down to second nature. I am constantly holding the block button when engaged in combat except for rare occasions. Making the enemies miss and punishing them stuns them and basically makes the game extremely easy. I used to try and brute force my way through with the parry but the avoid is where it’s at. It honestly opens up way more counter opportunities than parrying does. Only issue is when you try and get the real ending because the parries are what breaks the bosses structure down and that’s what you gotta do to spare them

    Your focus reserve and structure regain are highly important. Every time you avoid, it builds up. You get more opportunities to use your focus sweep move if need be. Also, the parry impact puts structure damage on the enemies when you parry an attack. The middle categories of the shrine are probably the best ones to build up with in the first few stages if you can. You can always gain health by takedowns. But it’s cool to experiment and see what works best for you. And don’t be afraid to get good at the level before going on to the next. I played the club constantly till I was able to defeat it between age 20-25. Still want to get it down to about 22-23 at most. Museum level is wild but you can get all 3 shrines. After the second on the 4th floor take the elevator upstairs and you’ll see the 3rd and you bypass that whole room of fights to go straight to the boss

      Try to dodge more than parry, it's better to time your dodges (L1 and directional stick) to the rhythm of their punches that way you're already in close to punish the opening.

      try to get used to the direction avoid or dodge, and also using weapons on them helps a lot too(mainly bats)

      @@rath1764 Kinda cheesing, but if you're really struggeling and play on Controller you can hold L1 and spam the down motion,, do it fast enough and they cant hit you

    Eye strike gives you a fully charged backfist and a combo, strong sweep gets you a knockdown that you're going to get at the end of an eye strike combo anyway.

    Would love to see a spin off but with the option to create your own character and a skill tree and some co-op. I love this game it’s so much they could do to this game. I pray the make another!!.

    I have played this game, and I love this game, its addictive, fun, and, at times, tedious, but overall a brilliant game

    Another one is instead of focusing on one enemy until he’s done, when they start blocking or if you sweep them down, focus on someone else. You don’t always have to go for one guy until they’re down and out

    Another tip the shrines completely replenish your health once exited(but you can only visit a shrine once, so make it count by sparingly visiting it only if you're either exiting the area that allows you to reach it or if you've been beaten so badly that your next received hit will age you).

    As a huge streets of rage fan,i am glad this game is the next step on the beat them up genre,a very beautigul and addicting genre if you do it right,and ther are almost none of them made in a fully 3D world,so i am just very glad to see this game getting so much succes. Good things dont need to be overcomplicated,just made with love and dedication

    I'm at age of 21 when I got through the first stage and I'm like "this is a good fighting game with nice mechanics.. kinda' easy tho" and when the time came for me to enter the club stage, they start whooping my ass with splashing neon colors and that lady with the stick? God I hate that woman.. this game is kinda' brutal
