@Christopher Bingham While I'm not defending him, he is rather young. And I think we all did stupid stuff as kids. Even the best kids sneak out every now and then. It's part of life. Kids fool around. It is what it is. It's why understanding proper contraception is such an important lesson for parents to teach because there are no do overs

I wonder how they will handle that? Him going overseas, or across the country. Given a choice between following Sheldon and a whole knew cast to surround him, and staying with his family in Texas I think I'd rather the show stayed in Texas.
That's the biggest flaw in this show. It's a prequel, and while some divergence can be done when you consider we knew the backstory as filtered through Sheldon, the basics are pretty much locked in place.

He apparently learned nothing, either from his parents' experience with him, or from his own previous scare with Jana. HE'S the one I have no sympathy for here.
They'll be using the "I was on the pill but it didn't work" trope. That or the condom broke, assuming Georgie used condoms.
Impossible since sheldon is only 12, and stated his father dies at 14.

Yep, this might be a problem. Unless Mandy decides to get an abortion or put the baby up for adoption. Though I doubt they'll go the abortion route. One: because it might anger a few people. Two: storytelling wise, getting the baby aborted doesn't offer as much drama and I get the feeling the writers will want to play this drama for all its worth.
i was thinking she probably wouldn’t get an abortion because it takes place in texas during the late 80’s. but i’m also thinking it might not be georgie’s kid since most people don’t find out they’re pregnant until about 5 weeks, and it seems like only a few days passed here
@@mysticwolf1358 Mid-90s actually and she could go to another state. Though it takes really talented writers to have the character get an abortion and still make it interesting, Bojack Horseman comes to mind. Plus, TV time passes differently than regular time. She and Georgie have been together for at least a few weeks and she might’ve had this worry but kept it to herself.

Don’t go by Big Bang. All of the producers etc of this spinoff keep pointing out that in ‘Cheers’ Frasier was an only child but in ‘Frasier’ he (Kelsey Grammar had a bro.. Niles.) They use that as an example of how series can stray from their origins & they repeatably say they will attempt to stay with the original storyline but will change things up as they so choose.
Georgie is my favorite character in Young Sheldon.

So if she's either lying, or ends up losing the baby, how does that fundamentally alter the trajectory of the show? Saying that this fundentally alters the trajectory of the show would seem to imply that this is going to be something that's real and lasting, wouldn't it? I guess I'm now back on her ending up with full custody because he is clearly not ready to be a father right now, and then moving away, being the most likely explanation for why this was never mentioned on The Big Bang Theory.
Why would her lying fundamentally alter the show? She lies, he freaks out, she tells him the truth, and a lesson about why not to lie about important things has been imparted.
In TBBT Sheldon says in season 4 his mother always wanted to have a grandchild, so I don't think producers intention is to destroy all cannon.

When season 6 comes that will be it of Young Sheldon, George is dead, Sheldon in Germany and the show has no characters to offer, thats the thing with this, its a prequel and Sheldon mentions his childhood alot in TBBT so alot of things are locked in place. I personally think next episode will be based on a few episodes back where George was upset when he saw Mary with Pastor Rob and that will be where he cheats on Mary as mentioned in TBBT when Sheldon looks for a woman in the ice cream parlour
