    Thank you for keeping us up to date on your channel. I just canceled my order as the value compared to the use case just no longer makes sense for me.
    It feels like Ford pulled a bait and switch on the pricing. $39k advertised ramped up to basically 60k for the same truck is really questionable.
    I get demand and inflation changes but that’s a huge jump for what this truck is.

    I placed my reservation June 21st of 2021. I received my invitation order November 15th. I was originally going to cancel, but my wife told me to go ahead since I had waited so long. I placed my order for a Lariat on November 20th, with package 511A, max towing, and rapid red metallic. Two weeks later, the truck was scheduled for production the week of January 16th. Since then, it has been moved to the week of January 23rd. I kept the options to a minimum to speed up production. I don't really care about cold weather range or towing capabilities. I know it's limitations going in, and have accepted them. Too many people this is a truck to replace the ICE vehicle. It is not. It is a niche vehicle at the current time.

What I am disappointed about (outside of ANOTHER price increase of course) is that I didn't notice that the 312A package is now 'only' $5k, instead of $9500. @kavanlake871 Год назад

    Well…I got my email and text, multiple times to order my F-150 Lightning Lariat. BUT…I have a huge issue with Ford increasing the price. When this all first dropped, I priced out a Lariat with the extended range battery for around $78K+, which is not cheap, but doable. Then there were two price hikes and I believe the standard range Lariat was up to like $82K but then, I’d need to add another $10K+ for the extended range, so we’re now at $93K+, with no chance of getting the rebate. Additionally, I’d be selling/trading my Roush model and it suddenly felt like I was trading down 😳. So I am highly likely to forfeit my reservation and just wait.
    Then the Denali EV got was announced…which looks good on paper, but I’ll wait to see. Maybe I’m not as much of a first generation adopter as I thought, or just feel suckered in by what was once a reasonably priced truck.

    I get that it's a "deal" compared to the market. But good lord. People give Tesla shit for adding thousands every few months, I feel like ford deserves it even more with these numbers.
    I realize it's only $100 down, but I really feel like they should've either asked more money (maybe $1000 down) and locked in pricing or not done anything at all. I heard that if Ford stops making enough Pro models they lose 240 miles EPA range test estimate and must put a lower range estimate on the window stickers of all standard range battery models. The same is true for the ICE models if they do not produce enough of the various types of engines for the F150 the EPA can require them to produce more with the higher mileage engines.

      im in north texas and my near by ford dealer has a Lighting Demo too and it just sit on the parking lot and no one driving it.
      and i went there for test drive the Lighting since i submit the order. I asked them why it sitting at the lot all the time.
      He said they allow to test drive for reservation holder only. I am not sure its Ford's policy or just for that dealer.

    If Ford is not accepting more 2023 Pro orders, why did they raise the price? The existing Pro orders are locked-in to the price when the order was accepted by Ford. My gut feeling is that we may be in for a surprise.

    • @paulqual3447
      @paulqual3447 Год назад

      Ford may be required to open Pro orders to maintain its 240 mile SR range EPA rating. The rating is reportedly based on the Pro model with the XLT and Lariat getting progressively less range due to additional weight, additional power-draining options, and more aerodynamic drag. For example, the Pro does not come with running boards. Running boards represent a 3-way power loss because they (1) add weight, (2) include lights that the battery, and (3) they increase aerodynamic drag.

    Ford bragged a ton about all of their "conquest" sales with this thing. What about the opposite of conquest sale customers? I've been a Ford guy even back when I hated american cars (always dug the mustang, daily drove one for about 4 years when I got a nice used 99 that had been modded) and my first "really an adult" new truck purchase was a 2017 f350; I was thinking I'd be a Ford guy from here on out.
    Fast forward 18 months or so after a day 1 reservation; I bought a Tesla last week and get the Lightning "you can order" today. I'm now an anti-conquest customer; Ford can piss off and I'll actively tell people not to buy from them anymore after this debacle. I wonder how many other loyal customers/fans are in the same boat as me now.

    • @paulqual3447
      @paulqual3447 Год назад

      If what Ford refers to as 'conquest sales' are mostly early adopters and/or speculators, Jim Farley is in for a rude awakening. Early adopters and speculators are only interested in the latest and greatest no matter who makes it. They do not have loyalty to a brand . . . only to the latest and greatest.

    I got my order option. Don’t think it’s in the cards for me. Wish it was and made sense. I would need the extended range for my weekend camping trips. Can’t afford it. Just going to wait for the R1S which I can buy for 75 then 7500 tax credit. My wife drives a telluride and the top of the line is around 55-58. Seems more realistic for us. And I know I can get my money back on that since my spec is actually 90k for new orders.

    Just think about if you were buying an ICE pickup. It would lose $10k or more in value just driving it off the lot. As long as the price and demand for EV trucks stays high, I think it is a safe investment. Though most people don’t consider buying a vehicle an investment. They expect it to depreciate rapidly.

    I'm still waiting for my pro production date but I consider myself the lucky one that I supposedly get 2022 pricing. With all these price increases, I'm wondering how Ford might try and change my order. To be honest, if the model year 2023 pro is sold out, then the price they are showing is kinda pointless. If you are listening Ford, I'll pay an extra $10k and get my pro in extended range if that lessens the blow. ;)
