Get started........ with the end of our careers!! As a fan from the beginning I will not spend my money on this album, it looks the ship has finally sailed for Queensryche! A sad day for me.
The album sounds quite good. I like it. I really appreciate 80s bands (or any type of rock band today) that pushes to have new material, specially Queensryche that had both the bless and misery of excelent/groundbreaking albums that many fans would like to see repeated over and over.
@catire98 It does. The main difference between this disc and the others is the guitar isn't out front. If you listen there is still some great guitar and some heavy riffs. This one just focuses on the rhythm section. Eddie Jackson and Scott Rockenfield are very talented also. Michael Wilton is a great guitarist just a little subdued this time. No two QR disc have sounded the same. It is the type of band they are.
Queensrÿche is one of my favorite bands, but they keep disappointing me over and over again. This is one of the worts things i've ever heard in my life.
OMG, is that supposed to be Prog Metal?!? Thank God for bands like Threshold, Vanden Plas, Shadow Gallery, Red Circuit, Thought Chamber, Sun Caged, etc who keep the Prog Metal flame alive!
I like bands who evolve, a lot of my favourite bands have evolved in music, like Iron Maiden, they're making some brilliant progressive music now. Queensryche however hasn't evolved, they're just making bad music. It's amazing when you think that this is the same band who made Operation Mindcrime.
:Like every album of my fav band you think what the f is this, but listen a few times and everytime you listen it's getting better.. In my upinion they are still the best, making music that is surprising you every time. Not a song is the same whikle other bands stay safe by sounding the same QR takes risks and try to find new sounds I like that.
@Piscesryche yeah big up to them for supporting the troops. Your comment.."maybe they dont think its a down for them".......id say thats the biggest problem as they dont know good from bad quality songs anymore, so its only the fact that hardly anyone bought the new album is the bands signal that the new songs are rubbish. They should stop, take a break, listen to feedback and reconnect with Chris.......and please let go all the hangers on ers!!!!
Let's hope for the next album! It's not a problem of Metal or not Metal. The fact is that the new album contains too much bad songs, bad melodies, bad lyrics. Tate says this is a modern "headphone" album...but who wants that from Queensryche? Not me.
Ok...and Tate wrote the Mindcrime story too. Along with a lot of other great stuff. It's funny when you listen to Empire, it wasn't like anything else they did before (just like ALL of their albums are different) and it ends up being their biggest seller with Silent Lucidy the hit and mellowest song they ever wrote (DeGarmo).
Respond to this video... got off the bus but i cant see myself travelling their journey much further. Steps back to the big time are sooooooo easy though......they need a new manager whos not part of the band, they need to lose all the leeches who are clinging onto the band....Gray, Slater, Parker. They need to get someone decent like James Barton to produce them again and finally they need an inspired Chris de Garmo back in the band. SUCCESS WILL FOLLOW!
@forgottenglory Listen to albums like Operation:Mindcrime, Empire and Promised Land if you want the hype youve been hearing about Queensryche. Theyre a shadow of their former selves now.
open minds make better people- how boring would it be if every album they did sounded the same? boring- but not the case!!!!!! Queensryche rocks no matter what they r singing
@Piscesryche ....proper constructive feedback on what your doing. Having the wife of one of the members of the band be the bands manager may save them some money but it doesnt give them a keen eye on how good the band is at any point. The band have lost their way, and wont regain that without stopping, taking stock and listening to what people are telling them. Without the key songwriter who helped craft their songs they wont ever be as good as they used to be anyway.
@Piscesryche most of the fans are saying the same sort of things my friend so only a fool would not heed the advice. Ive been in a few bands over the years and I know that when people like what your doing you become successful, if you stop doing that then the money quickly disappears......your an artist but your also creating a product that people either want to buy or they dont. The worst thing you can do is surround yourself with family and friends as they will never really give you...
I get your point but, do you really give a listen to Dedicated To Chaos? "Wot we do"?, "LuvnU"?. Even Hear In The Now Frontier and Empire had more Queensrÿche than this release.
Drums sound good, Geoff sounds good, bad song though....and this is one of the best songs on the album. That's the best I can say. They're much better with thematic and soaring material.
I"m new to queensryche.... what's happening? is there something wrong with the band now? I came here because mike portnoy says he listens to queensryche :P
WTF happened to these guys? They have not had a good album since Empire. The last good song I heard from them was "Damage" off of Promised Land, which was a horrible album except for that track. That one was the beginning of the end for these guys. They tried to get back to their roots with Operation Mindcrime II, but that was the drizzly shits too!
I agree and I'm not really into Chaos. I like this song and maybe one other. I remember when Rage came out, no one really liked it while we were full into the metal age. Then it grew and became one of their best and for some it took a few years. DeGarmo was with Geoff on changing the sound for every album, but from what Chris has said the others weren't really into it and didn't contribute as much from there on out. Sometime after Empire. Look at this way, they created a ton of great music.
@machowarrior2000 a sad time for all proper ryche fans bud, they just dont get it. Chris de garmo is rumoured to be planning something new, maybe thats where Queensryche fans should look now
@theweaponsystem if the new album had loads of radio and advertising support it still wouldnt sell as its not very good!.............the whole point that 95% of the long time fans are trying to say is its not about sound or style its about QUALITY. A quality product what ever it is will always sell as people wanna buy it. There are some de garmo haters out there but when he left the chemistry left and the songs have suffered since that day.
qr fans scare me. What happened to letting them take us new places? I love the new album, i think its the best thing they have done in years. New and fresh. this is most new and original thing they have done in years.
I've been a fan for 30 years and I thought it was a very good album, in fact one of their best albums. If you don't like it, don't buy it. If their creative decisions are based on their record sales, then maybe the folks that don't like it will get the album they truly want next time. Although an album based on what somebody else wants and goes against your own creative vision rarely succeeds.
it´s a good song, such as retail therapy, hot spot junkie, big noize, drive......... honestly i don't think DTC is a bad album, but some people just likes to cry and claim for everything.
I LOVE this video! It is a great song that makes me want to get up and move! The vocals and every instrument are all just full of energy! I love listening to the song, and I love seeing the guys enjoying their work. (Well, I'm not sure enjoying is the right word for that shot of Kelly ;op, but the rest of the guys look like they are having fun.) Can't wait till you guys get back to the states!
@theweaponsystem ......take your point, the trouble is how long can we wait for a return to form?....HITNF was just ok, Q2K was bad, Tribe was average, OM2 was forgettable, American Soldier was boring, and now we have Dedicated to chaos which would of been pretty good if the band had some quality control. Half of the album is not bad (8 tracks) unfortunately the other 8 songs are laughable which makes the whole album a joke. Ive stuck with the band on all these stops while other people have
@kentavros1979 Tell me what in your upinion Queensryche is.They have always tried to inovate not one album sounds the same. That's the power of the greatest band. Not like Maiden or Metallica. After succes they just make a copy af their latest.Queensryche are making art instead of music.Listen and you will hear. They are musicians instead of just guys who can play an instrument.
@kentavros1979 Listen some people like spice food ,some like sweet.About taste you can not discus .That is the main problem. Why call it a shame. It is not your tase but do not call it a shame if anyone else likes it.It is a shame thinking that way
Great song. It's not shred, and I love some shred as much as the next guy, but sometimes simpler works better! Love the guitar parts in the chorus and instrumental sections. Hope the rest of the record is close to as good as this song.
@RockerSDS I'm with you! The album sounds nice. This band suffers from way too many fans wanting to have Mindcrime and Empire over and over. The new album mixes well within their catalog.
@kingoftheryche everyone is off to listen to something else bud, dont you worry. All the albums sounding different aint a problem for the fans, but lack of quality is!......I actually figured out why Queensryche sound so bad these days.....American Soldier,Dedicated to chaos, Q2K, OM2.......all written by Tate and people outside the band!.....gone are the days of the real band writting their own albums........shame!
@whplague ABSOLUTELY! I actually woke up with it in my head this morning. It helps me get the blood pumping. Guys just don't get stuff you can dance to. Women love stuff you can dance to. But I hate the fluffy pop crap. I'd much rather find high energy rock that I can dance to. This is definitely high energy! BTW, you CAN dance to AC/DC too. I don't know what Geoff said about them, but I do love their music as well.
Just getting started with your net spit ball meltdown, Geoff? This is just so, so awful..,Be a better man and quit. This sounds like a late 90s song Matchbox 20 coulda done
Probably the most tolerable song on the album...can leave it at that. I know I took an oath to stay true and loyal to the QR vision, but you guys make it tough sometimes. At least there still is a QR to be a fan of I guess.
I'd say this is good for what it is, a sub-par rock song. I don't enjoy it half as much as classic Queensryche and definitely will not be purchasing this album.
I'll be with the Ryche through good and bad times. These are the worst times so far... But, hey! "Resistance" from the Empire album is not much better. And the drums are still cool and so is his voice. Guitars could be more aggressive. Let's wait for the next album!
I like the song. One of the good ones on the current album which is still a disappointment, but some of the songs on there have grown on me. This video though looks very low budget, nothing wrong with that, just odd.
@rychehead83 well.............if you still think that this is art....what can i say....my listenings is from Camel,King Crimson,Pink Floyd,Genesis,Eloy,Far East Family Band to Death,Psychotic waltz,Dream Theater,Conception etc....i know when i hear good music....this is not art...this is the example how someone still thinks that a name can write good music just because they used to.Shame.
@sm0kenmirrhurz92 I'm pretty sure forgotten is familiar with QR's prior work. I think he was just making a commentary on the pure crap that the band has become.
im surprised there are more likes than dislikes. man this is terrible. i like all of their albums to an extent except this new one which just plain sucks.
I think this song kicks ass.
Get Started seems to be the best song on the album.
It's sad that a band that I really enjoyed seeing in concert has lost it. And we all know it happened when DeGarmo left. But I will always hope.
Tate was the poison in the band... Todd blows him away!
Love the new album guys. The bass and drums really stand out to me on DTC. I hope it was as fun playing those songs as it is listening.
No matter what I'll always be a true Rycher all the way I love "Queensryche"...
Get started........ with the end of our careers!! As a fan from the beginning I will not spend my money on this album, it looks the ship has finally sailed for Queensryche! A sad day for me.

Love this song!
The best song froom the worst album
Sounds more like they're just about finished
Queensrÿche is one of my favorite bands, but they keep disappointing me over and over again. This is one of the worts things i've ever heard in my life.
Is my fav song.. Is a great composition.
Lounge - Grunge!!
More of a pop rock sensibility than expected.
Cool song. It amazes me how some people want QR to sound the same forever. Maybe the next disc will suit them. I like Dedicated To Chaos!
OMG, is that supposed to be Prog Metal?!? Thank God for bands like Threshold, Vanden Plas, Shadow Gallery, Red Circuit, Thought Chamber, Sun Caged, etc who keep the Prog Metal flame alive!
Hey Eddie Smiled!!!
Those with Stockholm’s syndrome do
I like bands who evolve, a lot of my favourite bands have evolved in music, like Iron Maiden, they're making some brilliant progressive music now. Queensryche however hasn't evolved, they're just making bad music. It's amazing when you think that this is the same band who made Operation Mindcrime.

@ReneeRycher Metalheads men only have one dance - it's called the headbang. And you can't do that to this album. : )
Let's hope for the next album!
It's not a problem of Metal or not Metal.
The fact is that the new album contains too much bad songs, bad melodies, bad lyrics.

It’s a great album, but but their zenith was the begin of the end for them
what kind of guitar solo was that?
When the boys were still together ...
I remember the era of Operation Mindcrime and is not the same, where he was the queensryche
Respond to this video... got off the bus but i cant see myself travelling their journey much further. Laughable
WE WANT PUPPET SHOW!!!!
open minds make better people- how boring would it be if every album they did sounded the same? boring- but not the case!!!!!! Queensryche rocks no matter what they r singing
Empire is considered pop album because it broke way into mainstream...so think about it...

What happened to one of the best band ever ?!? I'm gonna see them live tonight, I wanna see Queensryche, not that....
i love u guys!
it took several listening sessions but the new album grows ons you ;-)
I know, but, even in the "worse" times of the band, in a bunch of the songs the lyrics were deep and with certain complexity.
In fact Geoff Tate wrote it along with his hired composer Jason Slater.
Pretty nice for a Geoff Tate solo album! That isn't Queensrÿche, right?
only song i can listen to from the new album is broken right now. rest is unbearable
....Killer vid/song!...
Wow they aren't policing this video's comments?
This is like Metalocolypse doing Murderface’s “Take It Easy”.
@kingoftheryche I tottaly agree
@Piscesryche most of the fans are saying the same sort of things my friend so only a fool would not heed the advice. amazing CD, amazing band.......
why Queensryche ?!! WHY?????
?New album ultimate pop?
I get your point but, do you really give a listen to Dedicated To Chaos? "Wot we do"?, "LuvnU"?. Even Hear In The Now Frontier and Empire had more Queensrÿche than this release.
I like this one, Higher and Around The World to be honest
OMG!!! I love the new album. been a fan since 1984. Keep on ROCKING!!!
Drums sound good, Geoff sounds good, bad song though....and this is one of the best songs on the album. That's the best I can say. They're much better with thematic and soaring material.
Tampere?
"I'm just getting started" ?????? Yeah - flushing your career down the toilet.... you aint seen nothin' indeed.
I"m new to queensryche.... what's happening? is there something wrong with the band now? I came here because mike portnoy says he listens to queensryche :P

what does it mean "drops for the chorus"?
@theweaponsystem if the new album had loads of radio and advertising support it still wouldnt sell as its not very good!.............the whole point that 95% of the long time fans are trying to say is its not about sound or style its about QUALITY. @LygonFib Well, I would agree you can't headbang to this album. Men need to learn more dance moves anyway. ;op
btw if you want that faster beat play 1.5 X is sound oke
qr fans scare me. What happened to letting them take us new places? I love the new album, i think its the best thing they have done in years. New and fresh. this is most new and original thing they have done in years.

HELL YEAH QUEENSRYCHE IS BACK!!!!!!!
Lmao...look at the rock star image this video clip is meant to create
"Read between the lines
Criticize the words they're selling"
I'm really don't understand the "Pop-Ryche" comment either. They've done a dozen songs similar to this in the last 20 years and this song rocks.

Just getting started with your net spit ball meltdown, Geoff?
This is just so, so awful..,Be a better man and quit. This sounds like a late 90s song Matchbox 20 coulda done
Queensryche rock >>>>> Queensryche metal. Much mroe rich musically...fck who doesn't think the same.
@ReneeRycher
Seriously? lol
"This is fucked up"
Probably the most tolerable song on the album...can leave it at that.
I know I took an oath to stay true and loyal to the QR vision, but you guys make it tough sometimes.
At least there still is a QR to be a fan of I guess.
Is the best you can do, don't listen to the album!!
You know what.
I acknowledge that I'm against the rest of the world when I say this.
I really like Dedicated to Chaos.
@middlega Don't agree with this, but funny as hell comment anyway. lol
Song has potential but the production sucks, guitars need more balls and impact to them and the drops for the chorus are no where big enough.
The video is bad as well
Ive heard better, but you have to listen with earphones somethimes. Its lots better!!!
I'd say this is good for what it is, a sub-par rock song. I don't enjoy it half as much as classic Queensryche and definitely will not be purchasing this album.

Yeah...they sure look like the hate playing it...lol..even they wrote it.
@sm0kenmirrhurz92 I'm pretty sure forgotten is familiar with QR's prior work. I think he was just making a commentary on the pure crap that the band has become.
That one chord change throughout, ruins the rhythm
im surprised there are more likes than dislikes. man this is terrible. i like all of their albums to an extent except this new one which just plain sucks.
This is not Queensryche.Shame.
This song isn't so bad
Sorry but this is pretty brutal and embarassing. Seems like a song they made up in 5 minutes.
WTF He forgot everything?Is this Queensryche?SHAME C H A N G E NAME
@nobby8628
Yeah. 'ryche has been downhill for a while now. This song sounds tired and uninspired.
