    Nice one Paul !!!
    Good result there. Last time I tried that I had issues. Think the drums had been cooked a few times and couldn't get a finish, bit of a badgers bottom! Bit of hemorrhoid cloth sorted it though😊

    Wouldn't it have been possible to just use the wheel mounting flange bolted to your faceplate?

    • @Thesheddweller
      @Thesheddweller  9 дней назад

      Hi. Yes the face plate can be use but, not in this case. The face plate has an even number of slots and the hub has an uneven number of stud mountings. The mandrel was the second option, in the video I would have used the the four jaw chuck as first choice but, I explained why that couldn't be used. Cheers

    why didn't you just taper the mandrel?

    • @Thesheddweller
      @Thesheddweller  9 дней назад

      Hi, I couldn't taper the mandrel because the bearings are parallel and they have to be set under a certain amount of preload inward toward the centre of the bearing unit. A tapered mandrill would have been fine if the bearings weren't there but, I wasn't prepared to take them out. Cheers.

      @@ThesheddwellerWe thought we had found the ideal downsize house for us, offer accepted and everything. But planning wouldn't let me demolish the old concrete garage 18x26ft and build a new concrete one 22x40ft. Plenty of room, mostly hidden by trees, it had to be built in natural York stone with a slate tiled roof and no bigger than the old one. We pulled out of the sale.

    • @Thesheddweller
      @Thesheddweller  9 дней назад

      @@billdoodson4232 good job you found out before you completed. there is always the concrete slab with a sectional shed on top so long as it remains classed as a remove-able shed. etc etc.
