This awesome and motivating. I’ve been on both sides of the spectrum with trying to decide if I should actively pay my loans during this period; in the end I just decided to pay what I can.
Great job guys and congrats !

Congrats! I thinks it’s very smart not to wait for the 10 year PSLF. My mom was 6 years working for a non profit and was planning to work there for the full 10 years to get her loans forgiven but then lost her job in 2020 and got an industry job so now she won’t get any forgiveness.

Thank you! Yes, that is a bit of an unknown! Some people choose to only work for qualifying employers because they know what’s at stake, while others eventually end up on a different path. -Akeiva

As someone who is also on PSLF, I hear you on not waiting around to see what happens. Ole boy is going to continue to kick the can post midterms and try to use the same campaign promise for reelection if he runs. 6 years is a long time, we’ve seen what has happened in 2. Not having to pay additional interest is a HUGE benefit and you can reach your goals much faster. I’m looking forward to the freedom you all will feel once these loans are gone and at this rate, you’ll be student loan debt free before forbearance ends, keep going!

I’m sure he’ll kick the can as far as it will go! Thanks for your comment! -Akeiva

Love your videos! Just wanted to let you know just recently found your channel, and not only young watch you, I'm almost 60 with student loans, and love, enjoy, and benefit from your content. I had the same conversation with a friend, I felt the same as you Akeiva, but now I feel more like Meshak. I def need to get a second stream of income. Anyway you both are giving so many financial GEMS, keep it up and I'll keep watching. Thanks!

Huge congrats! Love love love this video, your hustle, and your decision to pull in the same direction. Bold move to ditch the possibility of loan forgiveness, in exchange for freedom to do what you want. I’m totally impressed!!
P.S. not being a buzz kill, but wouldn’t it have been so nice if we could have been educated on keeping debt to the bare minimum, before racking up all this debt. Feels like such a waste to not being able to dump all this into investments because of debt trailing behind you.
But seriously, love what you’ve done and the choices you’ve made and the maturity and thoughtfulness behind those choices.

Thanks so much, Nigel!! So glad you enjoyed the video.
Crazy to think how far ahead we would be financially now without this debt! However, we also understand that it might be necessary for some people to get through school. In our case, we’re letting bygones be bygones! Hopefully, stories like ours will help others think twice! -Akeiva
