I actually made a video about FloodJet vs AI vs Fan. The AI tips are more coarse than a fan tip but less coarse than a FloodJet. It’s kinda right in the sweet spot. This would’ve been ideal to do with a fan tip and maybe even a surfactant.
AI isn't necessarily more coarse. It depends on the nozzle sizes. Floodjet nozzles are great for fertilizer and normally have a much wider angle, like 110 degrees, which is more forgiving with overlap and height. AI nozzles are better for contact fungicides, like Daconil because the droplet is actually a bubble and explodes on contact creating better coverage. I was fortunate to see the results of flood/flat fan vs AI when Syngenta came on site for quality control research at a local golf course.

According to the Washington State Department of Health, “accidental ingestion of less than half a teaspoon of Ironite may be toxic to small children.” Arsenic is a known carcinogen and even small amounts of lead can harm a child’s ability to learn. Children can be exposed to lead and arsenic through skin contact with the soil after lawns and gardens are fertilized or by ingesting fertilizer on fertilized soil.

No more than once a month for me. The color stays pretty good with the usual AMS apps!
@@TheLawnMentor One of the cons of fast acting, liquid fertilizers are, they don't last near as long as the slow release, granular fertilizers that feeds the lawn for a longer period of time. That's the reason why liquid fertilizers have to applied more often than the granular.
how would you compare this versus the double dark mixture?
I’ve never used the double dark mixture but this is likely cheaper
Doesn’t Ammonium sulfate end up lowering your PH ?
Over a long period of time and extended use, yes. You need a ton of it over time to move the needle though
Doesn’t sulfur lower your PH Never use any sulfate anything ?
In larger quantities, yes. A mix like this contains negligible amounts for pH change.
What about using Urea instead of the sulfur?
Urea and sulfur and not equivalent
Can I use this with a hose-in sprayer?
I would not recommend that - needs to be on the foliage
What do you think about Milorganite, I’ve been using it for two years now. My lawn is green, but not that dark green. Would appreciate your comments. Thank You
I’m going to put out a video soon about reasons why I don’t use it on my lawn. Guess you’ll have to stay tuned for that one 😉
@@TheLawnMentor : one reason I went away from Milorganite (and they make it just to the south of us here in Wisconsin) is that my lawn smells like a needing-to-be-cleaned bathroom for at least a week after application. My backyard b-b-q's don't need any more "dairy-air" smell than I already occassionally get from my local farming neighbors!
@barneyandcompany6205 haha ain’t that the truth!
@@TheLawnMentor😂
liquid is such a pain though, I just used the liquid and did not really see any difference
I actually prefer liquids to granular! I can mix a lot more things in the tank and save a ton of money
What happens if you just spray the green effect product? Plus can use double dark granulated then spray green effect after applying double dark granulated? Or not a good choice? Thanks. Love your vids!
You can use greeneEffect on its own. Might take an extra day or so. I would go one or the other not both. Thank you 🙏
@@TheLawnMentor ok thanks. I have 10 k SQ ft of lawn so applying granule is faster and easier for me. Thanks again!
Grass can only get so green before damaging it! If you apply too much iron, it's going to burn and turn the lawn black.
So no water added to the mix in the sprayer?
Yes please add water like I did show when I made the mix
@@TheLawnMentor 🤣🤣🤣
Can this be used on centipede and Bermuda grass?
I don’t see why not - it’s nitrogen, iron and sulfur
What about double dark fertilizer from yard mastery?? Have you used this product? Thanks
I have - I prefer the liquid 😊
ALERT!!! You got a new Subscriber
❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
An air induction sprayer tip is for getting the product into the soil quick, is that correct?
Instead of Green effect can i use liquid chelated iron with AMS? Higher % iron plus cheaper.
Sure can! GreeneEffect is just what I had on hand and is easily available to others
Thx for sharing
Hi, how long can this keep the grass dark green for? Thanks
I’d reapply monthly at most. You’ll see it when you need it 😀
Just get a dog. My German Shepherd has made the grass nice and green.
Took a year, and a few dirty soles, but I never really need to fertilize. lol
Uhhhhhhhh no thanks lol
Never had success with Ironite…
No arsenic or lead in this stuff?
I’m not sure, why do you ask?
@@TheLawnMentor iron supplements for lawns often contain those things, which is what's made me hesitant to try them
@@andy42x I don’t see it listed on the label, but I’ll have to do some more digging
@@TheLawnMentor Ironite is a popular fertilizer sold to green up lawns and plants in home gardens, golf courses and athletic fields. Data from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency shows Ironite has - by a wide margin - the highest levels of arsenic of all fertilizer products surveyed. Ironite also contains lead. But neither ingredient is listed on the Ironite label. Both can build up in the soil.
How much AMS per 1k?
0.5lbs
how to kill brown patch or fungus naturally
Cultural habits to prevent it in the first place are best
Thank you, but ironite works for me.
all these videos always tell the pounds to use per 1000 sq ft or per acre but never tell how much water to mix it with. Maybe it's just me not understanding since I'm just getting into this.
You’re onto something - it’s all dependent on how much carrier water it takes to cover your space. So it varies for everyone’s yard/sprayer/speed
0:01 u said it
I can only use granular... now what?
Why can’t you use liquid?
@@TheLawnMentor 1.5 acres of hills
@mrpickle23 they make tow behind sprayers
Thanks ! The link to GreenEffect leads to a 404.

Thank you! Fixed above
Those are some pricy products. Iron with or without some epsom salts are much less expensive. Im just learning the deprh if lawn care and Ive spent alot but now learning more and less is less pricey
🙌🏻
My man!
I didn’t see much of a difference in grass color
Maybe the camera doesn’t do it Justice 🤷🏻♂️
Go Bucks!!!
LOL you're gonna hit all the videos up aren't you haha
For the win!
I might need to try this strategy out.
When you do, come back and tell us the results! What kind of lawn do you have?
I don't use liquids so I will continue using ironite.
To each their own! Why no liquids?
@@TheLawnMentor Cost of a lawn sprayer and mess dealing with sprayers. You need to dedicate the sprayers too or clean them out real good. Admittedly, I am not a lawn fanatic. I do use a sprayer for applying glyphosate but I would not dare using it for anything else. I actually also use Weed B Gon spray: My 24 ounce pre-mixed container is going on 5 years now.
Just save yourself some money and get 10 pounds of epsom salt and water for 5 minutes for a lush, deep green lawn. You’re welcome.
Why 10 pounds?
I saw this on another video, and the guy's lawn was super green
I’ve just heard about epsom salt. What brand and how much do you apply.
Just save some money....is Epsom salt free now
I used Epsom salt and my grass is now dead
You said the name so fast , I couldn’t understand what you said
Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate
Lawns need lots of nitrogen.
U could spend a lot of money with these products if u have a big lawn
Try to keep it cheap!
Did not change much by my eyes
I see absolutely no difference
Not a huge difference in the green what type of grass is it.... Most of the you tubers only see super dark green dependant on there grass... I used rgs ect but if you really look at most other people's Lawns they look pretty much the same if u use the products or not
I have TTTF out front. The rate I used was conservative and you could for sure go a little higher! Maybe the camera didn’t show it but I for sure saw a difference in a MUCH shorter amount of time than ironite. Cheaper too.
Uh, just use DEF. Just iron is for noobs.
Green Effect turned my lawn from dark green to lime green 😢
Say whaaaaat? That don’t sound right
sorry look same and probably a little worst to me,
Honestly see no difference besides the lawn lines, it's not even darker green let alone that deep green blueish tint you talked about and i've seen before on other lawns.
