Extremely valuable and thoughtful intro to Google Analytics. How you managed to pack it all in a 55-minute video is beyond me.
Thank you Benjamin!
I know I'm going to comment again when I finish the video, but wanted to start with ---- I'm 12 minutes in and this is the EXACT tutorial a newbie like me needs. Thank you X 1000, unless it goes downhill from this point. JUST KIDDING. Truly - this is great!!!
wow this is exactly what i have been looking for: step by step, defining of terms and phrases, thorough and easy to follow video. I tried to watch two previous GA tutorials and I could not stand how fast the person was speaking and then the other video sounded like the person didn't have their coffee this morning (bored tone of voice). This video is perfect in all aspects! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!
You’re very welcome. I’m so glad you liked my video Martyna!
Hey there!
Just wanted to send a quick shoutout to you for making this video - I had an internship marketing assignment and this really helped me to get a good grasp on Google Analytics! In fact, I found myself being super intrigued by the way it works and how one can retrieve data from it. At absolutely no point along the video was I at all bored or disinterested and that both surprises and tells me a lot about what I learned today. So thank you for introducing me to the world of Google Analytics for marketing and kickstarting my quest to find out more! Have an absolutely great week ahead and looking forward to more content :)
Cheers,
Karin
Thank you Karin. That’s wonderful to hear!
wow, this is a long video 55 minutes, maybe ill watch the first 5 mins..... 1 hour later, thanks for watching! that flew by! Great video loved it.
Valuable information here. Thank you! GA4 setup is now taking me less than 30 minutes to setup for my clients. Thanks - Joe
Thank you for this tutorial. I had a very productive day just watching your video. I thank you. You definitely got a subscriber.
People would pay for this . So detailed . Thank you so much .
thank you, looking to get into volunteer work for experience towards my degree and this is massively helpful!
Thanks for showing us around. The pace was right and the voice was clear, unlike other similar videos we watched before.
Gave me the perfect rundown of both. Thanks!
Thank you, I've gone through 5 other videos that would not answer basic questions, that you cover. With the change over in GA trying to implement something I don't know into something I am trying to learn is frustrating when all other videos are talking about things that I don't have access to.
me as well
Really informative! Exactly what I needed! Thank you!
Thank you for going through GA4 and comparing the reporting and intricacies on GA4. With all my experience on universal this was really helpful!

Thanks for the detailed introduction to Google analytics reports. It really helps me understanding it much better and easily!
Very good real world walk through. THANKS. I did want a bit more detail at 47 min. - 'more tagging settings - create events' seems like you need to coordinate with dev team to set parameters?
Very helpful
Great content thank you 😊

Can someone explain the difference between the analytics academy certification and the GAIQ certification? Is one better than the other? Am I way off base? I am a total absolute beginner and I don’t know where to start.
Thank you for making this video - it is extremely insightful and helpful! Hope you are having a great day!
My pleasure. You’re very welcome!
Nice, where is the section where I get the Google Analytics code and paste it to my website?
I dont have the seem set up as you for some reason I cannot find audience and home in the left hand menu
Hi Amanda, there have been some tweaks to the navigation since this video was released. Check out this tutorial too - ruclips.net/video/4H0Io885GKE/видео.html
Is it possible to check analytics of a website “without” actually connecting the website to a google account, like copy pasting some code for tracking purposes?
Very helpful!
I set up an account and a property yesterday and I do not remember being asked to specify between UA or GA4. My property number is just a number in parenthesis and there is no "GA4 - or UA - " before it. When I click on Data Streams and then details, there is no indicator as well. Is this a distinction that Google has recently done away with or did I do something wrong during setup? Many google searches have returned no results so I'm asking here.
I want to become a professional analytics experts for businesses. Must i have a website before i can practice this? Especially in the columns that requests for URLs
Massively informative, well structured and such a helpful easy introduction to Googles complex analytics tools - a huge thanks!!
Benjamin, hi, top blog video i was found on youtube, keep going! I need help in 1 question, can you? Will In google optimize AB test utm parameters disappear while test redirect. For example, i test 2 pages: page1 and page2. While visitor comes to my site on "page1/?" will he goes to "page2" or "page2/?" while redirect? And is it possible to set redirect in ab test with saving utms?
Great video!! loved it. Thank you very much!
Thankyou very much for this. It has helped me understand Google Analytics much better. Su.xx
My website is set up with google analytics 4. Is there a way to activate the UA also? Thank you!
in GA4 how do i see time of day (aka hourly) report? i dont see an option for Hour in Dimensions in Exploration tab either (but day, month, week, year, nth day, nth week and so on)
basically i want to see the traffic in each hour of the day, thanks in advance
This s a great video,thank you
Thank you mr.
Can I use Google Analytics with Leadpages? Do you have a video on that? Thanks
Hello Benjamin. Thank you very much for your tutorials. Amazing job. Just one question. Is it possible to grant access to a user without giving him the option to see some data, or I have to use data studio or another tool? For example, I would like to hide the data coming from the google ads campaigns I run. My google analytics account is linked with google ads and search console accounts. Thank you very much
Sydney yay 🙋🏻♀️
Thank you for this video! I have a Google Analytics account which I set up quite a while ago and it's a mess from when I set it up! I want to re-arrange, move, delete and add. Is it possible to create more than one "account" and add more than one "website" to each "account"?
Can you also do a video on the reports/analysis hub section in GA4? Thanks a bunch!
Hi can we get page response time report in universal report? And how to get that?
Thank you!
You're welcome!
MAGNIFICENT
Good video, can you share how to import the annotations from UA to GA4? do you have a video?
Hi there does it matter which email account your signed into when opening this google analytics account? or is it best to open the google analytics account with my business gmail?
how can we cluster the data as day by day for a period of time?
Great work! Thank you.
Thank you so much for this! Very helpful.
Great- Thank You!
Hey, it was awesome video. Thanks for it.
Do you need a website in order to set up Google Analytics for a certification?
Hello, great video .How I conatct you I need litle help? My google anylitics screen is not the same ( no same option) as yours? I also can*t find what kind of property is ,there is just one property number, no marks such as GA or UA. Thanks in advance!
Thank you so much for the guideline.
I have a GA (UA) account since 2011, however, it is my understanding that the primary account in which you opened the Google Analytics cannot be deleted because it will delete the ones underneath. It is hierarchical (or at least was). Is this still true? I have not used my primary account in years and no longer want it . I want to delete it and keep the ones underneath (which are the ones I want to track. Is this possible now with the new GA4?
nice vid! learned!.question for you my google analytic is under my personal google account thats been a while and I open a business not long time ago can I merged the two and the business has a different email and my youtube is under personal account...please thank you :-)
Is the number of events in Google Analytics the number of times the file has been downloaded from the site it is linked to? Thank you
It’s really the number of times the link on your website has been clicked to then download the file.
Brilliant
great video! mine was set up over a year ago, but I don't know if I have UA or GA?
If you head to ‘Admin’ and have three columns, then it’s Universal Analytics. If you have two columns it’s GA4.
Really informative and well done.
हैलो, क्या यह व्यापक कीवर्ड मिलान का उपयोग करने लायक है?
As per usual, a fantastic, high quality video. Thank you. One question. About 3 weeks ago I set up a GA4 property alongside my GA UA property after following your GTM tutorial. All is well. I’m definitely receiving useful data. However, no revenue has been collated either on the main Home report or in the Monetisation report. Zilch. There has been sales during this time and the sales have been captured correctly in the Universal Analytics property. What have I missed or failed to configure in GA4? Could it be to do with configuring events? Sorry, still a newbie! Thanks again. P.S. I am using *SHOPIFY* if that has anything to do with it?
Thank you
the bes 55 minutes invested of my day. thanks for the good information
For some reason my Google Analytics doesn't have the "Reports" side-menu with the "Realtime" "Acquisition" etc, Why is this?
Do I need to add both Universal and G4 tags manually in the website if I'm not using the Google tag manager? As per your tutorial, you have suggested to create both Universal and G4 properties. Both the tracking code will be different right? Thanks in advance and I must say very informative video.
I’m glad you liked it! If you’re using the gtag.is tag for Universal Analytics, then you can connect this exisiting tag to GA4. Otherwise, I recommend using Google Tag Manager to add both tags.
Hi Benjamin! May I know are "users" and "new users" defined in GA4?
Does "user" count start every _ mins?
Also, does "new users" count remain completely unique throughout, and doesn't refresh after every _ (time)?
I asked because it seems like GA4 uses UserID, which makes every user unique. That complicates things a bit for me with regards to user counts & new user counts. Thank you so much!
for those who are just starting out, what kind of advertising to focus on?
Thanks a lot!
Thanks! Really helpful video for people like me - the very beginner.
Btw, is there any way I can explore the pages of ga? like demo page? I’d like to click around it.
Absolutely! You can find details about the Universal Analytics demo at ruclips.net/video/JdtH9A_FCv8/видео.html and the GA4 demo at
ruclips.net/video/XWY7fTTig5Y/видео.html
Great video, Ben. I learnt a lot. But please permit me to ask one rookie question - If GA4 is the updated version of the defunct GUA, then why is there still relevance for GUA? I mean a new version of any product is meant to phase out and be completely replaced by the newer version. So why are we still using the GUA?
Eagerly waiting for your reply please. Thank you
Thanks Dan! GA4 is such a major shift that Universal Analytics will be around for a while yet. My guess is a couple of years. There are pros and cons to both versions, so by giving people choice Google is aiming to keep their GA users happy(ier/ish). If you think about small businesses who've been using Universal Analytics for years, they're not going to be ready to shift to GA4 yet. And some features, like the Google Search Console integration aren't available in GA4. It's a pity that it's not a true upgrade like we've seen with GA previously, but I think Google had to make the call because of the new data model, and the way data is processed and stored on the backend.
what tools are there so that the post would be seen by as many of the target audience as possible
wow, thanks a lot .
Cheers mate
How do you use Google analytics to block invalid traffic?
Pls create Individual Analysis Report.
You know that Google Analytics new feature has been released as a GA4 here I have one question when I will setup GA4 account same time shall I have to set up a Google Analytics Gole setup, Enhanced E-commerce setup, view set up, content grouping etc. Please guide me regarding my question.
Yes, you will generally need to duplicate your settings in UA and GA4. So goals in UA and then conversions in GA4, etc.
Perfect!
Thank you so much Susan!
how to track single individual , what he is doing on website so that we can send remarketing email
Ok, how do link it to my wordpress website???
Awesome video Benjamin. Thanks for making it. I have 2 questions:
47:02 If I have 15 different, unrelated websites -- and I just want a traffic overview of my whole network of sites, would GA4 be good fore that? For that matter, could that have been done with UA? I have a lot of websites and I always wished I could just get an overview of how everything is performing as a whole.
Also, one other thing. I saw in the settings that you can "LINK" UA with GA4. Do we need to install UA code as well as GA4 in that caase? Or just one? If so, which one? *either via code or via tag manager? If the answer isn't straight forward, I am sure a lot of people would love a video about that. I know I would :)
You can add your tag to multiple websites to create roll-up reporting. For de-duplicated users across websites, you would need the paid version of GA (GA360) to achieve this. You then need to decide how you will report on websites separately. In most cases, this means multiple tags per site. For example, one for roll-up and one for stand-alone reporting.
The linking option lets you send data from the GA4 tag to UA without needing extra code. However, you need to be using the gtag.js version of the tag. Using GTM means you do need to add an extra tag.
@@LovesData Well, there you go. I didn't even know there was a paid version of analytics. And I don't know what roll-up reporting or de-duplicate means. So far I learned that you're a lot better at Google Analytics than me. Times 10. You must really love data or something!
I was more interested in the demographics!
Can we switch GA4 to old analytics?
