Hi, Benjamin. This is the best Google Analytics tutorial I have found on RUclips. Thanks a lot!!! A couple of questions: 1) I didn't find a glossary you mention - I might be looking at wrong place or misunderstood something. 2) The second is technical question: let's assume that I set up Google Analytics on my site and it works. Later I made some modifications to the site: added new pages, changed content and etc. How it will affect Google Analytics and what should I do to add Google Analytics to new changed content. I am not talking about manually adding code the each page. 3) Any way to test changes to Google Analytics configuration modifications/implementation before publishing them on live site? I am not talking testing change on some kind of sandbox. Again, Thanks a lot!!! Very professional, detailed, and easy to understand explanation!
Great Course! One thing to add to the completeness of this guide would be sharing "how" revenue tracking is actually working through the demo. Its not something that is automatically enabled, but requires either manually implementing data layers onto the given e-commerce site, or installing a plugin that provides that functionality. Without that process, users will not be able to track revenue through Google Analytics.
Thank you soooo much for such a great tutorial. For someone who "doesn't know very much" about analytics, but needs to be able to use it, this was extremely helpful. I really liked that I could literally just copy what you were doing and end up with the report. So well done. Thank you again. cheers
Benjamin, your tutorials are superb: Step-by-step, easy to understand, and your visualizations make learning fun! I refer everyone with GA questions to your site. THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge and for helping us site owners and SEOs improve our data analysis with GA4.
Thanks for your great videos! About 20 minutes in you spoke of a glossary of terms that is available to download. I did not see that in the description. Am I overlooking it?
Hi Benjamin - thank you so much. I keep coming back to your channel. You're an enormous help. I have a situation: Client has Google Search Console already installed, but her previous tech manager didn't install GA4 (or UA for that matter). I need to create the GA4 account, and connect to the existing GSC. Is there anything tricky here I should watch for? We're not using GTM - just a simple installation into Squarespace. I'll keep banging around in here, and going through your tutorials. But this is a backwards set up, so I don't want to miss anything. Thank you, Benjamin!
Thank you. You said that there's a link to your GA glossary but I couldn't find the link in the description. Could you please help me with that? Thank you.
Loving your content as always. Just as a side note (I actually shoot a bit of content), you might want to let your light 'wrap' around your face a little more, as the 'split lighting' effect is a little dramatic within the context of analytics :-) Or add a little bit of fill to your right hand side with a bounce board or something.
HI Benjamin! great tutorial!! :D. I have a question, If you don't mind hehe, do you know if there is any issue changing the tag manager/ google ads conversion setup to a new website? (we have to transfer the hosting and get a new domain for a client. Thank you!
Thank you for explaining how GA 4 works. One analytic we use is how people got to a specific page. In the current version, I go to the page and select Source/medium. Can I deep dive and do this in GA 4? It is very important to us as we are a park district.
Hi Benjamin, always love your tutorials and courses - straight to the point and making sense. Will GA4 offer "real" real time reports - i.e. showing real time snapshot available in the original GA, rather than the last 30 minutes snapshot in GA4? Thank you :)
Thankyou so much for the tutorial. I just want to know should we add both Google Universal and GA4 Tag in our site or only add GA4 for the new projects?
Very helpful video! Question for you - is there a way to see a more granular breakdown of referral traffic? For example, I'd like to see if any website traffic was generated from a website link in a specific article. Using Universal Analytics, I could easily look at the referral traffic report and find the domain of the article I was looking for. From there, I could click on the domain and see the specific article that was driving traffic back to the website. Is this a possibility in GA4?
Hi, thank you very much for the video explanation about GA4 operation. Now a question is bothering us that the total revenue in our report keeps being the number 0. Where is it not set up successfully that causes this?
I don't know if anyone can help me, but when we are entering the into the wordpress plug in are we using the container id or the measurement id? And does anyone recommend a free plugin?
Thank you very much for this great tutorial! Do you know why there are some GA4 accounts that don't show the "source-medium" report in the acquisition part? It shows users or sessions by either "source" or "medium" but not for both at the same time.
hello i would like to get data as below in GA4, pls advise. thanks! 1. Page viewed 2. Click rate 3. Most popular page 4. Less popular page 5. How many page browsed by the viewer
Surely user retention and data like first time users is based on cookies right? If they never accept them or clear history a lot or use something like duck duck go wouldn't they always appear as a new user?
My user snapshot does not show as much data/events as yours. I can see the session over the course of ten minutes but all I see is page view then session start and that's it. just blank lines for the rest of the timeline. Any ideas?
My approach is to only collect data that’s actionable for your business or organisation. If it doesn’t provide value, then you can switch it off. You would also switch it off if you’re collecting custom scroll tracking events using GTM. And to flag, there’s no session hit limit in GA4 like their was in UA (aka GA3), so there’s no technical benefit in switching it off.
This is a great tutorial! I'd like to use a report I created with ROAS that I see in my reports library and have it shared with my team as the scheduled email allows in UGA. How can I do this?
Unfortunately, you can't schedule reports in GA4. I'm guessing this feature will be added at some point, but in the meantime, the best option is to recreate the report in Google Data Studio and schedule the report from there.
When it comes to Google Ads, my general preference is to start out with as much control over the campaign as possible before enabling automation. So I would begin with the option disabled.
I want to install google analytics but I can't decide whether it's worth it or not. I have a blog and want to see viewer analytics but don't want to slow down my website since I have a lot of traffic and my website slows down every now and then. I heard about putting the code in the footer. Would that be the best option with no negative effects on my website?
Kindly guide me how to create View on Google Analytics 4. I have not found any option how to create it. I hope you'll reply as soon as you've read my comment. Eagerly waiting for your answer.

Your videos are great, even for people that use GA4 every day. Never hurts to go back to basics.

I’m glad you like it! Yeah, it might be a bit dramatic, I might have a play with my set up at some point, but overall I like it 🤷♂️

In short; GREAT!

Thank you Hana! GA4 has always had the 30 minute window for real-time. You can see live data as events come in, but they combined with other events.
@@LovesData Thanks Benjamin. I joined your GA4 Complete course and it is excellent!
Thankyou so much for the tutorial. I just want to know should we add both Google Universal and GA4 Tag in our site or only add GA4 for the new projects?
so nice

Good job
Thanks. Glad you like it Simone!
Is there a good reason/use case to turn off scrolling from enhanced measurement?
My approach is to only collect data that’s actionable for your business or organisation. If it doesn’t provide value, then you can switch it off.

@@LovesData Awesome thanks for the quick reply!
I have a question how i can create a property in google analytics 4 as a student
How does GA4's measurement capabilities compare to those of previous versions?
As a general rule, GA4 will allow you to collect a lot more data than the free product before running into data sampling limits.
This is a great tutorial!

thank you for the tutorial.
But I dont know why I havent got any data in Advertising Snapshot.
Is there any solution can fix it?
thank you very much
You will need to configure a conversion or implement ecommerce tracking.
Hiiii, How are you? Can I have a question? Is recommended to open the Optimized Targeting in Google Remarketing ads.
When it comes to Google Ads, my general preference is to start out with as much control over the campaign as possible before enabling automation. So I would begin with the option disabled.

Most tags, like Google Analytics load ‘asynchronously’ which means they add minimal file size, but they don’t delay the loading of your website.

No automated reports??
You are so cute I love you!! So helpful x
When is the right time to transfer from GA to GA4 and how to do it?
At your earliest convenience. GA is going down from 1st of July.
